A funny but yet good action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger

A classic Arnold film with lots of extras a must have

great movie and the 4k transfer looks amazing.....

Unfortunately, the movie is still grainy. I've other 4K movies that are also grainy. I think when the original film elements (i.e. film stock) is grainy, 4K simply doesn't remove the grains; the grainy look just carries over. Another difficulty with Total Recall, from video quality perspective, is that it's a dark film with not many colors. Almost all the colors are passive, pastel colors. Everybody's wearing gray and beige colors (when I mean everybody, I mean everybody). Doug is wearing gray shirt with beige pants, Lori is wearing gray suit, every other character is wearing, again, beige or gray or black colors. The interior design is also very colorless, beige/brown colors (that's on purpose, to give it a dream-like atmosphere). So these elements are not helping the 4K transfer and not in favor. If you already own the blu-ray, I don't think it's worth upgrading it to 4K - although the price is very reasonable (I bought it for $14) so you might as well buy 4K edition. I think, in my opinion, the Dolby Atmos is probably a better reason to upgrade from blu-ray to 4K, more so than the video quality.

Beautifully done and looks outstanding in UHD 4K! This is the slipcover version, 3 discs total. You get the 4K disc, the Blu-ray disc, and a Blu-ray with special features. All discs have different artwork and there is a slipcover with this one as well. I was fortunate enough to get the steel book version of this one. That is outstanding, too. If you are a steel book collector, try and get that. Another great release! Both picture and sound are fantastic! This edition comes with the Dolby Atmos 7.1 audio selection as well as ~ English 2.0 French 5.1 Spanish 2.0 Subtitles ~ English French Spanish (Latin America)

Have not seen years,, used to have it on vhs,, bought 4K/atmos version and was presently surprised,, excellent bass and surround with brilliance in the colors,,still entertaining flic,so quick to the “choppers” and buy this movie for a blast to the past

An blast from the future, no holds barred action extravaganza. One of my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movies of all time, I could not wait to see it in theatre's back in 1989 and it was a blast from the edge of the universe. The story is from one of my favorite science fiction authors Phillip K Dick and starring two great actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone (in her Pre-Basic Instinct pivotal role) and Michael Ironside as a great bad guy and Ronny Cox as the ultimate master of the bad guys, this is a great movie and a good movie for an evening of entertainment that is Shure to please.

Probably one of Arnold’s best movies. I won’t review the movie but I will review the quality of the 4k disk. It came out 30 years ago so most of you have probably seen it numerous times. In my opinion great picture improvement over the blue ray version which I previously owned. I have noticed one thing about 4k disks, the sound quality is drastically improved. Of course that’s has a lot to do with the Dolby atmos. I don’t have a Dolby atmos set up but I brought this to a friends house that does and we were both blown away. Can’t go wrong with the purchase of this is you like the movie.

Such a great movie. I enjoy 80s/90s Schwarzenegger movies and this one does not disappoint. In addition to the UHD disc (4K), you also get the regular Blu-Ray (1080), and the digital copy, which as of December 2022 was valid for redemption. Code can be redeemed through Apple TV, which means you can rest assured knowing your digital copy will also be in 4K. The 4K resolution is also nice, given that this is a 90s movie.

Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a bored construction worker in the year 2084 who dreams of visiting the colonized Mars. He visits "Rekall," a company that plants false memories into people's brains, in order to experience the thrill of Mars without having to travel there. But something goes wrong during the procedure; Quaid discovers that his entire life is actually a false memory and that the people who implanted it in his head now want him dead. Adapted from the Philip K. Dick novella We Can Remember it For You Wholesale first published in 1966.

I purchased this movie on Laser Disk many years ago and when I saw that it was available on Blu Ray at an excellent price I decided to go ahead and add it to my collection since the Laser Disk player has long been retired. You've probably seen this movie so I'll restrict my comments to the Blu Ray transfer. In short the video and audio quality of the transfer is awesome and breaths new life into an old movie. If you had this on VHS or Laser go ahead and spring for the blu ray. You've gotta have this classic in your collection.

This movie is one of the best "Arnie" movies hands down. While all of Arnie's movies "hold up" to the changing times, this movie, in particular, is still utterly watchable today. For both new audiences, and those of us Gen Xers who grew up with these gems. I would say that as a combination of time capsule, and a really fun movie with an interesting plot that asks some very fun questions about perception and reality, it is absolutely one of those movies that I think everyone should see at least once.

Classic Schwarzenegger. Back in the eighties and nineties, Arnold ruled the action movie scene. No other action movie star could match Arnold except maybe Stallone. Total Recall is a classic action/science fiction movie from Arnold. Set on Mars, Arnold tries to figure out who he really is, who he can trust. and how does he save the world. Nonstop action, good looking video and good audio highlight this release. It won’t get any better than this 4K Blu-ray. Highly recommended. Enjoy.

Based on a Phillip K. Dick story (We Can Remember It for You Wholesale), directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Total Recall is a tremendous 90s action sci fi that delivers in terms of action, pop psychology, special effects and style. The film has never looked better and it has plenty of extra features. You can buy the standard release if you wish to save a couple bucks but if you can swing it the artwork and packaging for this steelbook is impeccable. Must buy.

I got this movie on VHS and now 4k. I see it from time to time on tv as well too. This is a pretty interesting movie. Is Quaid really dreaming or is it all real. I think they did a pretty good job for a movie that is over 30 years old. I think Arnold is good in roles that he is cast in other than those kindergarden teacher movie that he did. They did an outstanding job on 4k for this disc.

in 4K AND SteelBook. A win on all counts. I remember watching Total Recall in the theaters in 10th grade with my older cousin. I was blown away by the sheer imagination of the movie. It's fantastic that this classis was re-released in 4K as well as in SteelBook form for us collectors. While the special effects are obviously dated now, Total recall is still a classic sci-fi movie (I've never seen the Colin Farell remake),

I really want to give this a 4.5. Overall, the 4K UHD transfer is a nice improvement from the previous blu-rays. However, there seemed to be a couple spots where the increased detail was lacking a bit from the rest of the movie. These were not optical shots, so I'm not sure why the detail looked off. But otherwise, it looks very nice and the Steelbook option is a fitting presentation for this classic sci-fi/action movie.

Let’s be honest, if you’re buying this then you’re a fan of the movie so you know what you’re buying. But what you don’t realize yet is that this is an outstanding product. The steelbook is stunning with a clear slip that just accents the design perfectly. Not only that but the on disc content is incredible, the picture quality is some of the best on the format. Do yourself a favor and add this to your collection.

I Wish More Companies Would Follow Suit And Put Slipcovers On Their Steelbooks! The 4K Scan Looks Incredible As Well! The Reds Really Pop And You Definitely See More Definition And Detail With Characters!

I thoroughly enjoyed re-watching this in the new 4k format. I still remember watching this movie back when it was in movie theatres. And completely enjoyed this version of the movie with Arnold's cheesy one liners, over the re-make they did a few years back. This version is definitely grittier, and more of a classic action packed thrill ride. Definitely worth the purchase!
