I was one of those Toy Story fans that expressed immediate disapproval of the announcement of another inclusion to the franchise. I felt Toy Story 3 was not only the perfect ending, it was the best movie of the trilogy. Then when they announced the 4th movie was coming out, and that it was going to be a rom com of all things, I was put off from the start. Then the trailer came out. From there, I went the theaters to watch it, and was so happy to be proven wrong. They did, indeed, have another story to tell. I still believe 3 is the best, but I now am happy to say 4 is a worthy inclusion. Highly recommend.

I knew there was absolutely no way they could do a better ending than Toy Story 3. Toy Story 4 was disappointing, really disappointing. It was eerie, dark, and lacked all the heart of the first 3. It completely contradicts the underlying theme of the first 3 movies and throws it into a 180, leaving us with a sad, lackluster, way too “hey, kids- reality’s not easy” ending. According to this latest installment; 1.) You don’t have a friend in me. 2.) Whatever life throws at you, it’s not going to be okay because you can’t count on your friends & family to be there for you to infinity and beyond.

I’ll give credit where credit is due. It looks fantastic and toy story looks photo realistic, Pixar has really outdone themselves. As for the story, while the plot was good and I did like it, I could have honestly went the rest of my life without this sequel. The original trilogy could have ended there with an ending that wrapped everything nicely. A 4th film felt unnecessary in my opinion. BUT I am aware that this is for the current generation of kids and they do indeed deserve this. My own reasoning for purchasing this was simply to complete my TS collection, otherwise meh.

For fans of this wonderful series and for newcomers alike this is an excellent film. It is funny, charming, and very touching especially for those who love the series. This being a steelbook is another great touch. It is nice especially for collectors. The only issue I have is something that seems to be a trend with Disney's steenboks. Some of the films that have more than one movie some time have steelbook covers that do not match. That is the case with this and the first three. Other than that this is a great collection that will make anyone watching have a good time.

Fun finish for the Toy Story Series

The 4K presentation of Toy Story 4 looks great! The textures and colors look amazing with HDR and the character animation looks better than ever, on both the 4K blu ray and streaming in 4K on the Vudu App on the Apple TV. I was skeptical about the new character forky from the trailers but they really made him fit into Bonnie's life very well. Keanu Reaves was a lot of fun playing the new motorcycle character Duke Kaboom too. I really enjoyed the humor at the end of the movie related to the RV problems caused by the toys. Like a lot of others, I had some mixed feelings about the ending but in the end I think it works out ok given that they felt they had to do something different than the Toy Story 3 ending. The sound was better than most recent Disney Atmos titles too with lots of ambient sounds popping up all around you in the mix. So overall, it was a fun finish to the series even though it didn't come close to matching the creativity and clever dialogue of Toy Story 1 & 2, which are probably two of the best movies ever made period in my book.

We were pleasantly surprised that the spork story was better than we expected after we watched the movie trailers. We also liked the use of nostalgic objects in the antique store scenes. There were many details that appeal to adults. We also appreciated the general richness and detail given to the animated settings and the psychological depth and thoughtfulness of the characters. I recommend Toy Story 4 to all fans of animated movies and especially to fans of the Toy Story franchise.

I love the Toy Story franchise. This was my chance to get the fourth one on sale and I was surprised of the price because it didnt show that it was digital on the picture like the others. It just said "steelbook" but it didnt say "includes digital copy" I looked all over best buy website to make sure because I always get digital copies of all my movies. So for anyone wondering. It DID include the digital copy and the movie was great, funny, and charming...buy it. You will love it.

Great 4K Presentation for Ho-Hum Sequel

First, I'll say that this is a fantastic 4K disc. I was impressed from the very first scene. This is a great-looking disc, for sure. Audio is pretty solid, as well. As for the film, it was the sequel we probably didn't need, to be honest. I think Forky is a great addition to the Toy Story characters, and his story and purpose is one worth exploring. But I feel like the rest of the plot was a bit weak, as if the creators had a story to tell regarding Forky, but had to fill in the run-time somehow. And that's why I feel the film suffers a bit because the B storyline isn't that strong. I had hoped that when Woody and Forky were out on their own that it would turn into a road/buddy film. But it gets into other territory and we end up getting away from our usual cast of Toy Story characters that became so endearing over the other three films. So, while good, it isn't quite up to the caliber one might expect.

Though it's hard to find sequels that are as quality and enriching as the original, Toy Story 4 still manages to have the same heart and soul that has carried throughout the series. It's a wonderful bookend to the series, with a great story about finding your way and how it's not always the way you think. It's visually stunning, pushing the boundaries of what CG can accomplish, something Pixar is known for. Lots of heart, lots of laughs, and richly entertaining from beginning to end.

Toy story 4 is just a perfect example of "don't fix it if it's not broken" because the movie has all the heart and creativity that Pixar puts in all of their movies which make them great if not perfect films. I love this movie as much as the previous 3 entries and they all exhibit the same high quality story and computer animation as Pixar's best. So yea please go watch this movie, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you like Pixar movies and miss out on this one.

Toy Story 4 is the best looking computer animated film of all time. The writers didn't disappoint either with a change up from the direction that most Toy Story films take. The ending is bittersweet with an unforeseen twist that will leave new and older audiences caught off guard and out of their happy ending for sll comfort zone. It is different than the first 3 in the series in almost every way, but a refreshing look into the Toy Story universe. Enjoy!

    Painfully Brilliant Movie

Painful? Toy Story? Kids will love it and really not get the deeper themes. Cute characters. Woody. Buzz. The gang. But this movie is deep. They always were. It’s about losing your direction. Your identity. Realizing it’s time to let go and move on. And how difficult that is. It’s a great kids movie. But it’s a real gut puncher for adults with kids leaving the nest. I can’t say it makes things easier. But it comforting to see old friends tell this story.

This on is a real tear jerker, sorry about the spoiler alert. Woody and friends go off on yet another adventure and now the story is about to change for them all. This is one of the best sequels in the Toy Story lineup that you will not want to miss. Kids get older and grow up but toys remain the same. Great for the whole family, mom and dad need to sit down with the kids and watch this together. One day it will be time to move along so enjoy the moment.

I'm rating the product as a 5 star because of what you get when you buy it from Best Buy. But the movie itself is more like a 3 or 4. It's good and my daughter really liked it but it wasn't really necessary for them to make. I also feel it was off a bit, why are the toys all so comfortable moving around now? The ending was also kinda meh, but that's okay. For me personally, if bunny, ducky, and Duke weren't in it then it wouldn't of been as good.

I’ve grown up with Toy Story since I was four years old and it has remained my favorite animated series to this very day. As heartbreaking as it was getting to finish this movie, and realizing it was the end of part of my childhood, it was worth it. It’s definitely a heartfelt story and it made my wife and I cry. While, I always felt there didn’t need to be a fourth movie, it’s a fitting end for our characters and their journeys.

I love this movie the story is well written and looks great! A lot of care and time went into creating this movie, the detail and graphics alone looks amazing! And sounds even better on a home surround sound system. I don't want to ruin or spoil anything about this movie except a new member is added to Woody and the gang and a new adventure starts. So stop by your local Best Buy or BestBuy.com and pick yourself up a copy or two...

Toy Story 4 is absolutely wonderful!! I think this is the best one yet. Thankfully Disney hasn't stifled the creativity at Pixar since they had to buy the studio. Surprisingly enough, Pixar continues to bring us the very best and imaginative animation made today. Who else could make a spork into a sweet and lovable character? I highly recommend this film to everybody who loves great animation. You won't be disappointed.

Going into this movie, I was skeptical and very against another trip to the toy box. I thought the 3rd one ended great, but once the first scene played in this I was hooked. They drew me in and I realized that although the 3rd film finished the stories for the group of toys, it did not finish Woody's arc and this is what this film does. Prepare for some laughs and a fair amount of tears too. To infinity... and beyond!

while most of us were okay to stay at TS3 this one adds a few more characters at the expense of screen time for Buzz and the rest, and is set well away from the comfy confines of someones home in suburbia, a few new characters are added and it has a bit darker section in the middle with the Victor dolls, but on second and third viewing this one holds up, though not as touching as the other threee

I hear from a lot of people that Toy Story should have ended with the third movie, but I disagree. I am very happy that they made a fourth movie and I would probably say that Toy Story 4 is my favorite of the four movies. It was engaging, vibrant, and tear-jerking. That being said, for the steelbook, I wished that the cover art-style stayed consistent with the previous three movies' steelbooks.
