If you don't read the instructions, like I didn't, when you first plug it in, it shows up as a USB cd drive with the required driver software. Install the software, and it works without any problem.

Not plug and play though, it took about an hour to research and change all the settings. The instructions were of no help because they were geared to using in machine with no wi-fi or network card.

I guess I'm surprised tp-link even sells these. It's a poor option - spend more money for one with an antenna or drop a wifi card in your PCI-e slot. This was essentially a waste of money.

However, I did not expect it to eat a drive letter in windows. For me, that's a deal breaker.

Good job I had another way to download the file otherwise it was just a pretty box!
