We have a TP-Link - BE15000 as our main router for our home internet. It does a great job for the most part of covering our entire home with a good WIFI signal. We recently did a little remodeling and had one of our kids move down to a room in our basement. They are a big online gamer and had complained that the internet is slow. We decided to get one of these and put it in the basement to see if it would help get some faster speeds in the basement. Out of the box this thing almost looks like a small drone with the 4 different antennas sticking out of it. If you are worried about it covering both your outlets, don’t be, if you plug it into your top outlet, the bottom outlet is still easily accessible. The setup couldn’t have been any easier. We already had the Tether app installed and an account set up since we have a TP Link device as our main router. So, all we had to do was open up the app, click add a new device, and after a couple seconds it easily found our new range extender and got it connected and all set up for us. From opening the box to being up and ready to go it was probably less than 10 minutes. We placed this pretty much right below where our main router sits, but on the lower level of our house. Almost immediately we saw a huge jump in speeds, both upload and download. We have a 1 Meg internet service and they claim we should get about 30Mbps upload. Before we installed this, we were getting about 150-200 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload on the computer that was in the kids basement room. Now we are getting 300-400 Mbps download and 25-30 Mbps upload. So, it basically doubled our speed in that section of the house. I also love that this one can take advantage of Wi-Fi 7 for even faster speeds than most range extenders can. It does also have an ethernet port on it as well if you want to use it to hard wire to a computer or laptop, or anything that has a ethernet port. Another big bonus is that our security cameras that we have on the back of the house now work a lot better too because they are now getting their signal from the extender instead of the main router. Overall, I am extremely happy with this range extender. It definitely exceeded my expectations as far as speed increase goes, and was very easy to set up, especially if you are already using a TP Link router.

Powerful Wi-Fi Range Extender with Easy Setup

TP-Link is a manufacturer headquartered in Irvine, California that is well established for offering Wi-Fi routers & range extenders. This review is for the just-released range extender: TP-Link Model # RE-405BE. It is part of the TP-Link BE6500 family of Wi-Fi 7 collection of routers & range extenders. This is important to note, because identifying it just by BE6500 will produce search data on the router with the same model number. The RE-405BE is a powerful, dual band range extender. I have 5) eero Max 7 routers in a 5,000 square foot house, but the garage has been a dead area. I plugged this range extender in an outlet in my garage after a very easy set-up. Eero mesh network routers do not have a WPS button ("Wi-Fi Protected Setup") due to security concerns. Not to worry, if your router does not have a WPS button, you can set it up using the Tether App, or via a Web Browser. I chose the Web Browser, which took 2 minutes to complete. Security cameras inside & outside of my garage became highly responsive immediately after activating this range extender! The 2.4 Ghz & 5 Ghz Wi-Fi signal strength in my garage are strong now & the security cameras do not miss any movement! CONCLUSION: This TP-Link Range Extender exceeded my expectations by dramatically improving performance in a Wi-Fi dead area & earns my highest recommendation.

    TP-Link got me connected!

The TP-Link BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender is just what I needed to extend my WiFi network coverage and keep me connected. Our WiFi is so much better since setting up and plugging in this range extender. We have a houseful of IoT stuff to make life easier for us, but without a strong WiFi network, not everything was as smooth as we would like. Our house is "U" shaped with the router sitting at one end of the "U" and the bedroom at the other. After a long day, we would retire to the bedroom to get comfy and try to read email, do some doom-scrolling or make online purchases. Yes, we would TRY to do that, but the WiFi was not strong enough in the bedroom and browser pages wouldn't open, or we would get that spinning circle and we would wait and wait and wait. With this range extender, those problems are a thing of the past. I also have a security camera outside on the house by the bedroom that had spotty connectivity, but now is working quite well. A security camera that can't connect doesn't offer much security. I set-up this extender by plugging it into an outlet and downloading the Tether app. From there, the app connected the extender to my WiFi. After a couple minutes, I saw the blue lights indicating a strong signal and I was good to go. It was really just that simple. This extender has MLO capabilities - MLO (multi-link operation) allows simultaneous connection to multiple frequency bands which can increase speeds, lower latency and improve connectivity. You need to have a WiFi 7 capable router to be able to make use of this feature, and the devices also have to be compatible. However, this is backwards compatible so even though all of my devices don't work with WiFi 7 now, they still work great with this extender. Over time as I update devices, I know they will be compatible as well. Future-proofing is cost-effective. It works now and I know it will also work later with newer devices. Another cool thing about this extender is that it has a 2.5 Gbps ethernet port. With this, I can get a wired connection wherever I place the extender. This TP-Link BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender has worked extremely well for my needs and I know it will work well into the future as I update my devices. Even if you don't have WiFi 7 currently, you probably will in the future. So if you're thinking of extending your WiFi now for better connectivity or faster throughput or just more reliability, this is a great option.

Say goodbye to WiFi dead spots

The TP-link BE6500 is a solid range extender for you to cover any dead WiFi spots you may have in your house. During my testing the BE6500 actually provided better coverage and signal than my actual home routers. I ran a variety of test to see how the BE6500 operated on them and overall it did a great job at extending the range and making sure by internet signal was in the lower 70 dBm range which is solid for browsing/phone calls/streaming. The setup of the TP-link BE6500 was simple and straight forward, just plugged it in downloaded the app and everything was self-explanatory. The extender does take a little while to get going in the beginning so be patient. Once everything is going the tether app provides a lot of information and allows you to tinker, even when you’re away from home. The app lays out how many clients you have on the network, who if connected and even allows you to block unwanted guest. The extender is very versatile and allows you use the device as a range extender or a access point if you need. I connected the BE6500 as a range extender and my speeds were about 50% in comparison to my main router, which is pretty good for an extender, and this was on the 2.4 GHz and 5G networks. What I did not expect was the speeds the plug in jack would give me, I was getting 700 Mbps down and 650+ up on a 1 Gig connection. This was amazing, with these speeds I could use this to hardwire my work computer instead of having to run wire to my office. Overall the BE6500 is exactly as advertised, it extends the range and helps get rid of Wi-Fi dead spots. The 2.5 ethernet port is amazing if you want to hardwire any device for a better and more reliable connection. The extender also has a easy mesh function if you have a compatible TP-link router so you can use the same network regardless of where you are in the house.

I was curious to see if this device is capable of extending my WiFi coverage at fast and stable speeds. Upon opening, it's easy to see that it's an integrated device that just plugs into the wall outlet. Because it is rather large, I wish it had the option to rotate the electric plug in case something else may have already been plugged in for ease of installation. One of the things I truly dislike, and the reason for taking a star away, is that you have to download another app on your phone for setting this up. My current setup has a Deco device and app that has a mesh network. I downloaded the Tether app that is required for this setup. I do like that it install was very straightforward. It was simple to follow along and get things running. For testing purposes, I used my personal laptop, work laptop, and cell phone. I was able to connect everything easily. I did not have any issues with my connection. Speeds were very reasonable to my existing mesh wifi network and although this extender is more of a standalone unit, I believe you will be satisfied to just set it and forget it. I can say with confidence that this extender is stable and dependable for those looking for the extra extension in your home where wifi is spotty.

I don’t have an easy mesh setup, and my router manufacturer is a different one than the TP Link BE6500, but I figured this would be a good opportunity to share how the BE6500 interacts with a mesh system that is not TP Link. The installation process was as easy as could be. Installed the Tether app, logged in, and followed the instructions. Plugged the BE6500 in and let it boot up. Connecting it to my existing mesh network took only five minutes or so. I needed the BE6500 to get extend wireless signal out to a couple of cameras mounted on the outside of my garage. In the past, I’ve had issues with connectivity, as the cameras are just outside the reach of reliable wireless signal with my current mesh set up. I plugged the BE6500 in my garage, about 20’ from one of my satellites. It resolved the issue with the buffering I was getting prior, and I was able to view 1080p video without any delays or stutters. Overall, impressed with the ease of set up and the improvement in wireless transmission.

Perfect wifi extender for spotty internet issues

I have been using TP Link routers for a few years, and while they have work much better than the cable router provided with my cable modem, there were spots in my house that have spotty internet. I liked the idea of keeping the TP-Link Brand, so I picked up the BE6500 Wi-Fi extender. I used the TP-Link "Tether" app to link the extender to my router. Once the app found the extender, it was a very automated setup. Everything worked flawlessly for a few days and then I ran into problems. My internet would drop all over the house randomly and then it was constant. I reached out to TP-Link and they escalated the issue. They sent me detailed instructions with pictures to incorporate new settings into the Tether app. After making these changes, I have had consistently fast speed and low ping all over my house. My son's computer is setup in a spot that experienced drops that he had grown accustomed to, but a week after making the updates, he has not experienced a single drop. We are now able to constantly stream 4k in an upstairs room that was previously spotty while my son and daughter game online. Speedtests show the same speed with and without the extender, and to the previously spotty locations -- my family couldn't be happier. I can walk around the house with my cell, and I can't differentiate the handoff from router to extender -- they were setup to use the same name (intended from the process) so no worries about internet dropping when roaming around the house. One other item that I have not used, but may be beneficial is the inclusion of an ethernet jack. I do not like to run wires throughout the house, but it could be valuable to someone who needs a more direct connection. I would also recommend finding a location that is close enough to your primary router, but also near your devices that experience spotty internet. So all in -- the TP Link BE 6500 extender is a great device with really impressive customer service that has solved an ongoing problem -- resulting in fully wireless high speed internet all around the house.

They say it's a Dead Zone Killer

TL;DR: SETUP: It was not quick, but not difficult - see below for more information. USE: Once connected, I no longer have latency or full dead zones in my home. USABILITY: It works well - Once connected, it’s seamless! OVERALL: It’s so nice to not have to disconnect from WiFi to cellular to get consistent data service. REVIEW: There are 3 options to setting up the Dead Zone Killer. The first option, using the WPS button didn’t work for me. The second option, downloading and using the app, did. The third option would have been to directly connect with it with included hardware. After I was able to get it working with the app, it would only connect to the 2.4GHz network. After a second try, it connected to both the 2.4 and 5GHz networks. At first, I wasn’t happy with the latency, jitter, and overall slow speeds (in real use and with SpeedTest). I gave it about 10 minutes or so and came back to check the speeds…and everything was as expected, which is to say perfect! The “Dead Zone Killer” works…and works well. I’ve been using it for a couple of days with no complaints at all. I thought about giving it a 4-star due to the wonky set-up process, but in the Quick Start Guide, it gave all 3 options…so it’s a 5-star…and I’ll forget about the setup process quickly. I have all my devices connected, and everything works great.

Nice little wifi 7 extender. Ive got this hooked up as part of a router mesh system. Its paired with my tp link be19000 ge800 gaming router and the previous version of this extender in dual band. Setup for all of it was quick and painless with the tether app. Im. Ery happy with all of them. Seems a little pricey for what it is, but im happy with the performance.

This device did something I have been trying to do for years and that was to add coverage in my game room/office/Man Cave. I had hired a professional tech company to fix my problem and they put an extender right next to my router which made no sense. After following the simple three step set up my problem is now permanently fixed. It was really easy to install,/set up. I had it up in running in 15 minutes.
