I was looking for a router for a dead spot in my house. Setup was quick and easy with a few choices depending on your need. I opted for a dedicated network for that part of the house and so far so good. Knocked one star since I'm not achieving the speeds of my primary router although I will investigate if that can be adjusted.

Bought two of these to broadcast Wi-Fi through my house. Not a bad little deal. Easy to set-up. The features on the app allow for lots of configurations. Not a bad little router!

I purchased this cheap, really cheap router few days back after losing my expensive router (from a big brand) by lightning surge. I was little nervous about its performance, but it just performs like any other high capacity routers. No problem so far, get very strong signal in all the three levels in my house. We stream two movies at a time with general web browsing in laptops (two). Very satisfied.

    Installed

Installed this as an access point 4 weeks ago- worked good for 3 weeks but then my desktop began slowing down and my security camera not recording events that it normally would. I unplugged the cable supplying the internet to this device and plugged it into my computer and problem solved-computer returned to normal speed and of course my home security system must now run off backup cellular service, not so fun. I called customer service twice with poor communication methinks they told me to contact my IP provider after running the speedtest. Enjoyed learning what that was. I have installed Netgear and Linksys equipment in the past inside of un-airconditioned/unheated workshop, shed and even a 1 gallon mason jar on the ground which after 2 years was struck by lighting in a typical Carolina spring lightening storm. They rarely need(ed) any maintenance. This tplink access point is inside my office beside my desk computer and refuses to work more than a few minutes after completely resetting to default and re-configuring. I bought it hastily and as the old saying goes .... If one did not find discrepancies in the directions and find it difficult to set up, one didn't read the directions. Its as if a child designed the configuration pages and the cover of the box this trap came in. TPlink now conjectures up in my mind a roll of toilet paper. I noticed on other website reviews customers complained this product only lasted 6 or 12 months. I would be so delighted. Plan to get Netgear in here ASAP and if it fails the same way, I will write an apology review.

      Hi,

Thank you for sharing your experience with our product. The TL-WR940N is designed to provide reliable N450 WiFi for your home network. The router shouldn't significantly slow down your connection; however, please bear in mind the TL-WR940N utilizes Fast Ethernet (up to 100Mbps) ports. If your Internet speed plan provides greater than 100Mbps connectivity, we suggest considering one of our Gigabit WiFi Routers instead.

Our Support Team is always happy to answer any questions you might have about our products. Please feel free to e-mail [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

      Thank you,

    Great Low-Priced Router

This router is a big step up from the previous one we had which was constantly booting people from our network if there were too many users. With all of the devices that rely on the router, we needed something new and so I picked this up for around $30. We have been very pleased with its performance so far. I would like the range to be a little farther, but it does work throughout the house.

I was using an Almond Router and it kept dropping the internet connection having me to re-start it every 2 - 3 days. Bought this router after reading the reviews. Has not let me down, maintains the connection and the speed. Have not have to re-start in a month!

Tplink brings AFFORDABLE connectivity to the home. I’ve used a multitude of their products and they’ve always been up to par. I’d say to get a dual-band though.
