Tapas Smart Plugs Review I recently had the opportunity to try out the Tapas Smart Plugs, and I must say, they offer a seamless blend of functionality and convenience. Here’s my detailed take on them: Design & Build: The design of the Tapas Smart Plugs is sleek and minimalist, which blends effortlessly with home aesthetics. They are compact, ensuring they don't block adjacent sockets, which is a thoughtful design feature. Installation & Setup: Setting up the Tapas Smart Plugs was a breeze. The companion app guided me through the process, which took less than a few minutes from start to finish. They easily connected to my home Wi-Fi without any hitches. Functionality: Once set up, the smart plugs are incredibly easy to operate. I could control my appliances remotely via the app, set schedules, and setup HomeKit integration. The ability to set timers and countdowns for each plug added a layer of automation that I found very useful, especially for managing power usage. Performance: In terms of performance, the smart plugs have been very reliable. They respond quickly to commands, whether from the app or via voice control. ​This is arguably the best "bang for your buck" smart plug on the market right now. It removes the headache of ecosystem compatibility and just does its job reliably. Highly recommended for beginners and smart home experts alike. I love it! The standout feature here is Matter support. Setup was incredibly fast. I scanned the QR code, and then I connected it to Alexa. No jumping through hoops or downloading five different apps just to get it online. It plays nice with Google Home, Alexa, and Siri simultaneously. Space-Saving Design: True to the "Mini" name, this plug is compact. It doesn't block the second outlet, which is a massive annoyance with older smart plugs. You can easily stack two of these on a standard wall plate. ​I currently use this for a floor lamp that is hard to reach behind the bed. I have it set to an automation to turn on at sunset and off at 10:30 PM. It has worked flawlessly every single night.

The Matter-enabled TP15 Wi-Fi plug is the perfect addition to any Smart Home. After plugging it into a socket, my Android phone instantly popped the Matter pairing screen. After scanning the supplied QR Code with my phone, I instantly paired the plug. Easy to use, the Tapo app lets me schedule when to turn the plug on or off. As it's Matter-certified, I control it easily with other Matter-enabled switches or by voice with Hey Google or Alexa.

These are the only smart outlets I have experience with. I have owned them almost a year now, and created device schedules (On and Off at fixed time of day), Smart Action shortcuts (tap to turn On, but automatically turn Off some time later), and Automations (Turn on 1 hour before sunset and turn off based on an other condition), etc. I added them to Google Home (only the devices transfer, not smart actions) and created some automations in Google Home. For just automation and device schedules, Tapo app is more capable than Google, just cannot use voice activation or integration with non Tapo devices. 4 stars because of that and requires internet for automation, which is typical for most platforms. Device schedules are local to the device though, and Matter hubs with local automation are coming. Has no power/energy use monitoring, which would be interesting, but is not needed for automation, and would add cost. Smaller than any traditional plug-in timer and much more capable. Very good value when on sale.

These little smart plugs have been great in the few weeks I've owned them. Setup is simple, takes less than five minutes. I like that they're small so they'll fit in most places. I've been using them for a couple lamps in my bedroom and being able to turn them on and off from my phone so convenient. Hopefully they will come out in different colors in the future as not all my outlets are white.

Theses little plugs are great. I use one for my training center (virtual bike trainer, fan, screen. It’s attached to Apple Home, so I tell Siri to “turn on the training center”. No more individual switches. The other turns a “dumb” reading lamp on. Cheaper than a Hue bulb or smart outlet at half of the 2-pack price. They’re stupid simple to set up, and can be moved anywhere.

So easy to set up and use it’s really great loving every minute of it

While it was a cheaper price than the Amazon type, it works as well. It took a little longer to get working, but now I can not tell any different with any of the other plugs in my house.

They work perfectly! Got timers set for the coffee pot and other items! I ended up getting more!

Simple to set up and works perfectly in a routine in Google home app. Used them to turn on and off plant lights. Bought twice and would buy again.

Had to go through the Matter setup process twice before it showed up in Apple Home, but now it’s working without issue.

Bought another set great products work great have had these products for couple years with no problems. Very good price on quality item.

Easy setup and easy to use, i configured with tplink app but I'm using it with Alexa for manage a night lamp, works amazing. Best of all you do not need to do any electrical job. And can be manually turn on/off with side push button

A retired senior, I thought I'd never get anything like this. Have a bunch of these and also a bunch of dimmable smart bulbs. 19 total! They can both be programmed for on/off times, including variable sunset/sunrise. I have "groups" set up. One group is "all". Shut "all" off when I leave. Super handy and very easy to set up.

I have previously used the Roku smart plugs and they were constantly malfunctioning and needing replaced. I have used these plugs with NO ISSUE. My new favorite brand and I am looking forward to purchasing more products from this company.

WORKS WELL with my Google Home system. I use it to have a lamp to turn on automatically in morning. I will buy another one, for another appliance-unit.

Great plug that works with SmartThings hub. Super easy set up using matter. Originally bought one for Christmas Tree lights- it worked as designed so I purchased a few more for lamps, iron, etc. Haven't had any issues with it losing connection as it's setup via matter. Overall definitely worth the price.

I have several of these - i have them hooked with with alexia i use them for lamps, lights, fans and even the christmad tree. They work great for winters when i need plant loghts indoors!

I tried a box of 3 and liked them so much I bought more, they work great and are very easy to set up so if your thinking of automations to your home or ??? Pick up a box of these I think you will find for yourself what I'm talking about and you to will buy more.

Used the smart wifi plugs to control the Christmas lights inside and outside of my home. “Alexa, outdoor lights on”. Did the same for each room in the house as well. What a convenience! Then I decided to power up my new lionel trains as well. It all worked flawlessly for our Christmas Holiday House Tour.
