A: Hi! No, those are all optional integrations and are not required for setup or use of this Tapo Smart Plug. Your smartphone, the Tapo app, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with Internet connectivity in your home is all you need to set up and enjoy these smart plugs.
A: I had the same question, I wanted my existing Kasa app to work with these new Tapo plugs. However, the answer is NO. I tried, but the app can't 'find' these new plugs. BUT, the good news is you can link your existing Kasa plugs in the Tapo app using your existing Kasa account. After you log in, you just tap 'authorize' and ALL your existing plugs will link all at once! Then just tap the + sign to add your new plugs. From then on, there's no need to use the Kasa app.
A: This device requires a 2.4GHz band to be broadcasted. Most routers broadcast 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands even if you do not see them. If you do not have separate SSIDs for each band, you won't have a problem setting this up in the proprietary Tapo app. However, if you plan to use this with Homekit, connect your phone to the 2.4GHz band to complete the setup. To do so, you must either disable the 5GHz band, or lower the power with which it is broadcasted. After setup is complete, you can re-enable or restore full power to the 5GHz band. (It took me two days to figure this out.) I am unsure if the same trouble exists when adding to other Matter ecosystems.
Q: Can I plug a 1500-watt heater (electric radiator) into this safely? Can it handle that much power?
A: Hi! The Tapo TP15 is rated for 1800W / 15A @120V. That said, please note that in some cases, the 1500W rating on space heaters designates their "steady state" power draw, but their startup power draw may spike significantly higher. We would recommend verifying the documentation of your space heater, or contact the manufacturer, to ensure it will not exceed the rating specificcations of this spart plug.
A: No. Only the P110 and P115 models offer Energy Monitoring per https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/586806 I bought these specifically for that feature and regret not doing more research.
Q: Will it notify you via text or email if power is lost?

Q: Does the smart plug turn on automatically after a power failure?
A: Hi! The smart plug will resume its last power state prior to the power failure. If the smart plug's outlet was enabled when power is lost, it will be On/Enabled when power is restored.
Q: Can you program this to turn on and off every 30 minutes every day?
A: Hi! You can add up to 32 schedules for each Tapo Smart Plug.
