In a house that is all brick from the 30s. This came in super handy. The modem lives on the second floor on the far east side of the house. I was able to put this in my office downstairs to boost the WiFi to get to our master bedroom!

Easy to install and fixed the problem. The app is nice. Wi-Fi signal wasn't getting to an outside bedroom. Everything streams perfectly now. Signal strength in that room is like it was in the room with the router.

I have seen good reviews about the distance of these adapters, but had no idea how awesome the range is! I have a shop that sits around 100 feet from my house and it reaches with ease and very little drop off.

I purchased this due to the cost and reviews. I have it in my garage and it is about 80 feet from my router. It is used to allow me to have internet in my steel building that’s 100 feet away from my garage. Works great. Only issue I can say is that when it’s plugged into the wall because of the weight of it and the antennas I have a small bracket to hold it up right other wise it will lean over and almost pull out of the wall receptacle. That’s the only downside I can see. It took about 5 minutes to configure it to my home internet and it’s been working great for 4 months now. I would recommend it and buy another again if needed.

I was initially skeptical that this would work, but I was pleasantly surprised. This affordable extender has completely solved my Wi-Fi issues. The setup was incredibly easy, and I haven’t had any problems since.

Bought for ethernet port... Better than nothing!

I got one of these because I moved and the new house's electrical grid didn't work with powerline adapters. I've had good experience with the powerlines, so I hoped these would be comparable. I have to use these because I rent my house and run a home server so instead of trying to run a long ethernet cable from the router to the closet I keep the server in, these kinds of devices help out a ton. That said, I chose this model for the ethernet port. I don't need the range extension at all, just the port. I set the device up with the OneMesh, which my router supported. Devices see it as the router, not as being connected to an extender, so it's hard to say if there was any difference with or without it. You manage the extender from the app and in there, you can switch the network ID to something else and connect to it directly like a separate router. Since I was only in this for the ethernet port, the OneMesh setup was fine. As far as how they compare to the powerline adapters, the kind of don't... at least for the ethernet. It's better than nothing, but I'm still tempted to run a cable instead. Speeds will be ok for a while, but eventually they get really dismal. Gets a little hot, but it doesn't seem so hot that it would cause problems. There is also nothing electronic between the router and the extender... just a couple of walls. Unplugging it for a minute will sometimes kick it back up a little, but in general, it's sluggish. Accessing files on the server while the extender is being iffy is very slow and painful. I can't really say whether the WiFi extender works well because I didn't have bad coverage to begin with. So my current opinion of this (for the ethernet port, at least) is that if your electrical wiring can handle it, go with the powerline. I can't really say much on the Wi-Fi extension.

Works really well! My apartment has horrible signal. Since plugging the extender in, we rarely have any issues with the wifi. It makes everything much easier! We used to get to frustrated having to reconnect our tv to the wifi 3-5 times during a movie, but now we never have to worry!

Worked as advertised. It was pretty easy to access and set up to connect to the wi-fi networks to extend. Using the ethernet port to extend out with cable (which is why I brought this) worked easily too. I've had it going a couple of months now and have had zero issues with it. Hasn't dropped the network, nor any other connection issues so far.

After opening this extender up, I was hoping it would just be plug and play, and it is if your router is already setup properly. My WPS switch was off and could only be turned on through the software. After I got it on, setup was a breeze. Not much of a need to be technically inclined. I absolutely recommend if you get this extender, to download the TP Link app onto your phone and create an account. It will allow you to switch this device from repeater to extender based on your needs. It comes already in repeater mode.
