One of the best RPGs to come out this year and tasteful remake of the original. Graphics are beautiful and the modernization of the combat system implementing additions from the newer games helps bring this game to a new level. The characters and writing help to make this an enjoyable experience that will start your journey for a narrative spanning multiple games and stories. If you are looking to get into a long-running series or just an RPG to satisfy your needs, this is where you should begin.

Never played this originaly but definitely a most play. Fantastic story and battle system that never gets boring

This game is a lot of fun. The battle system has a large focus on positioning and the magic system is like a more complicated (in a good way) materia system.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on Nintendo Switch is an easy 5-star experience for fans, offering a rich story, lovable characters, and deep world-building that still holds up today. Compared to the original release, this version feels more convenient thanks to the Switch’s portability, making long story sessions much easier to enjoy. It also feels smoother and more comfortable to play overall, which helps modernize a classic without changing what made it special. The slow-burn narrative is rewarding, and the dialogue and character development are far deeper than most RPGs. Combat is strategic but approachable, making it great for both newcomers and longtime fans of the series. If you enjoy story-driven RPGs, this is absolutely worth buying and a fantastic way to experience the beginning of the Trails saga.

What an amazing remake for a classic jrpg. Extremely satisfying gameplay and great character voiceovers.

This is how modern remasters should be done. If you're interested finally diving into this series, it's a great way/place to start. I feel like this remaster spoiled me... It's really shows how half baked many of these other "remasters" actually arebfor what they are charging. Regardless, this is some great JRPG action, so what are you waiting for. Just pick it up now, in case it sells out and jumps up in price! I slept on a few other physical remasters, the NA releases sold out quick, and I had to spend extra to import them from other regions

This game on Switch runs very well. The game is an excellent remake which combines the combat mechanic of newer games in the series with the story of the first game. Some liberties are taken though.

I've played the original game on the PSP and this remake just makes replaying this game so much more fun since they upgraded the graphics, added the skip the random battle functions which made everything more overall fun.

Fun and relaxing RPG that will suck you into its world and put you in a good mood. Also if you have a Switch 2 the upgrade pack is only $1 and worth the boost in performance and visuals.

Incredible remake of the first in the long running Trails series. Runs great one Switch 1 and can be upgraded to the Switch 2 edition through a $2 purchase on the Nintendo eshop.

This is an excellent remake of a classic RPG - if uou played the original, it is still worth picking up. They’ve hit this out of the park.

As my first Trails game, I was surprised by how traditional, yet cozy this game feels. It brings me back to some older styled RPGs in terms of tone, but the gameplay and character writing is excellent.
