I thought it was on a disc not something where I had to deal with Best Buy like the software I bought last year. My biggest problem has been dealing with Microsoft software on the computer and with MSN to get ready for installation. I know why I shifted to a Mac three years ago.

The scans are quick and effective. The set up was quick and simple. I will add to this review if anything changes but so far it has been great.

This one bugs you the least often once the "trial" has expired. It also seems to bog down the system the least - and I have NOT had this one suddenly lock down network printing for no apparent reason like the others have (I'm looking at YOU Norton, McAfee, WebRoot and Kaspersky)

I also set it up on my iPhone. I can't say I've spent a lot of time learning its features, but have had no problems.

We only got this because we bought a new laptop and BestBuy would not let us not take it. Useless, dumb, not needed, just use Windows Defender BUILT INTO WINDOWS :)

Posted .It's true that most versions of Windows come with Windows Defender however that does not guarantee better security, PLeyava. In third party tests, Windows Defender consistently ranks very poorly – usually in the bottom third of security products reviewed. Trend Micro Internet Security, by contrast, is often listed near the top of that same list, even earning the award for strongest protection earlier this year. It might not be built in but it's definitely a better way to keep your new laptop safe.
