Reliable Small Switch

This is the 2nd TRENDnet - 5-Port Gigabit switch I have. The previous one works great without any trouble for years. For the small switches in the market, TRENDnet switch is usually much cooler than other brand's switch. This new one is smaller and a little bit warmer than the old version one but it is reliable, too.

Have had positive experiences with this and other Trendnet network products. They are reasonably priced and perform well. The switches stay cool and maintain consistent performance even under load. I have no real complaints.

I need to hard wire our xbox so there was no lag and no dropping of the network signal and I had run out of ports on my router. I purchased this switch and it was extremely easy to set up. I basically just plugged it into my router and the xbox in to it and we were good to go.

Bought this so that I can connect my ps3 and my ps4 to my internet. All I can say is that it does the job. It was easy to set up, with in minutes out of the box, I was able to get my ps3 and ps4 connect to my internet without a hassle.

I bought this since I upgraded my router and I needed more gigabit ports. Works for what I wanted and the price was about half what you normally pay for a gigabit switches.

Great little switch

I needed five ports at the television to get everything access to the Internet. The number of ports needed ended up exceeding the wireless Linksys' four ports that I was using. I really didn't want to stack another four port router on top of that and fight with having to turn off DHCP. The nice thing with a simple switch like this is you get routed traffic (as opposed to a hub that broadcasts to everything) that needs zero configuration. So far this has kept up with hours of streaming NetFlix, Hulu, and other online services to both our smart television and the home theater computer. I've had problems in the past with routers stopping service or completely rebooting after heavy use. So far this has been quite stable. Occasionally if I have made changes to my network or power cycled my cable modem this has also required being power cycled (unplug and plug it back in). I would highly recommend this switch. Only reason I didn't rate it as Excellent is that other online retailers sell it for less. Something Best Buy is going to need to get better at.

great. was able to expand my existing LAN easily. If you want to have full performance of this product use CAT 6 cables. replace your old CAT 5e. will work with both.

These work, it is simple as that. Plug and Play, no software, etc.
We have several of these in the house as we have CAT 6 cable run throughout the house. Our boys are heavy users with computers, gaming systems, etc, and these switches are great.
We use one in our bedroom to run ethernet cabling to the smart tv and to the blu ray player.
These just work, simple as that. Great price too.
Enjoy.
