    I replaced a 10/100MB 10 port switch that died. I wanted gigabit to support my internal network which includes a NAS, two networked printers, Roku, Apple TV and several other IP connections. This was easy to set-up and install. You can spend more money for a gigabit switch but why would you?

    With my network hard drive connected to the switch instead of my GB router, the speed between my PC and my network hard drive is faster than when the network drive was connected directly to the GB Router.
