Great price for a decent device

So I was able to get a pretty good amount of money for my birthday. I needed a new mp3 and thought this thing looked pretty awesome and It had more to it especially for just $60. I was not unhappy at all. I honestly love this device. Youtube videos run very smoothly and run perfectly in HD. If you buy a micro-SD card with this (Recommended, otherwise you're dealing with about 2GB of memory not 4 due to the software) you will have more freedom with adding music and adding movies, and sound quality with listening to music through headphones is really good. My only complaints are that when turning it on, even just turning it on from being locked and using it. Within 3 minutes the back of it on one side can get very warm fast. It doesn't get burning hot but it gets quite warm making you wonder if it's running too much. The battery life is decent if you're just listening to music, but doing anything else on it can seriously run it down. One last thing that really bugs me is you can not change the volume if the device was locked. My Iphone and my old mp3 I had both did this. But with this device, you actually have to unlock it to change the volume which can be very tedious but other than that I really like the device and would recommend this if you plan to just listen to music and occasionally watch videos.

Excellent device for money. It was a bit cheaper at my BB but still. Removable storage is amazing in an mp3 player. Add 32 GB SDs any time. Saves a ton. Capacitive screen is noticeably not as nice asthetically as resistive but functionally it's great and saves battery. Android better than iOS by leaps and bounds. Widgets, customization and all around more functional. Quit that i-store stuff. This plays any media file. Probably wouldn't recommend for heavy movie watching. Just not pretty enough picture. At this price though you can't buy something as good for music. Wish it had Bluetooth but that's a small sacrifice.

    Nice android mp3 player

The Trio Stealth Lite 4 gig. This is just an Android tablet with a smaller screen. Sound quality is good and the mp3 player app is preinstalled and includes a five band equalizer with shuffle and other options. Plays HD video smoothly in most popular formats. Video player is pre installed. Also preinstalled.. Flash player, adobe reader, an internet browser, widgets, you tube, ereader, email clients, gmail, office suite and more. I installed Winamp, firefox browser, and Angry birds space. All work smoothly. Had to go to third party sites, no google play, to get these apk files to install but that is the only catch for software. Amazon app store is installed by default. Camera is only a 640x480 pixel resolution in camera and camcorder mode so it's only good for a quick simple shot. Built in speaker is fairly loud. Includes a microphone and works for search. Usb connects to any standard pc and shows up a standard drive(s). No special drivers needed. Great for browsing You Tube videos. Wireless connection was simple to setup with no connectivity problems on a dedicated line. Some people seem to get connection drops on big downloads but I suspect they are using a cell phone connection. The player is advertized at 4 gigs but there will only be about 2 gigs of free space on the tablet so you will need a micro-sd card for larger libraries. Familiar android interface. The only thing that doesn't function is the file encryption. The buttons are there for that but it just blocks endlessly and you will have to cycle the power to end the green android. The passworded screen lock does work however! Nice player slash tablet for the money.

    Good Product

I like this product. I paid $65 for it at Bestbuy. I've had it for about six months. I use it mostly to play Pandora and stored music. When I work out at the YMCA. It works fine. I had a problem once when I accidentally pressed the entire touch screen. I had to reset it with a pin manually. After that it worked great. Pros: It can expand with an SD card up to 32GB. I play all sorts of movies and songs with it. I can shuffle tracks. I can play netflix and hulu. with a wifi connection. I can talk to it and ask Google for information. I can expand the keyboard in case the letters are too small. Lots of tools including text messaging and camera. I can recharge it from another computer or directly from AC. I can transfer files with USB. Cons: You need a fairly strong wifi with this and battery life is short, 4.5 hrs. Don't use it as a Kindle because the letters are too small to be read easily. No telephone. Other than that I love it

    Disappointing

I got this for my niece's birthday as her first "starter" tablet. The price was reasonable and I got the protection plan for it. Thankfully I did purchase the protection plan because after only having it for 3 months it quit charging completely and would not turn on at all. As such I got a replacement. After I got the replacement it I wanted to see how the tablet was running since she wanted me to download Minecraft for her. First of all, the camera is about useless, it has no flash and the photos come out terribly blurry. Second, the sound is so quiet you can't even hear anything even if its at the full volume... the speaker must be the smallest speaker ever because I can hear a mouse over the tablet! Finally, the speed is just slow -- and my expectations were pretty low for this thing because of the price but I guess they should have been lower, even on a WIFI connection it seemed to be moving at a snails pace. It felt like I was on dial-up and I'm not really sure why but everything that I tried to open seemed to take an eternity to load. If I could take it back and get a new one I would spend the extra $30 and get one that actually works.Try again TRIO I'll never purchase another product from them.

I have had this one week and am not happy with it. I like the idea of wi-fi and all. I understand that when then the unit is shifted from horizontal to vertical the screen shifts as well, but what also happens with the one I have is it when playing mp3's and you change from vertical to horizontal it sounds as if there is a scratch or skipping that takes place. I am returning this to get my money back. Not at all happy with this tablet/mp3 player.

I have been an avid ipad user, but mine had recently broke and the 4.3 was right in my price range. Easy to figure out, only took a moment, and once I did, I love it. It is just the right size to take with me anywhere, I love that I can link all of my email accounts to my calendar to keep my appointments all together. Easy to load all of my songs from my iTunes account, overall really easy to work and I love the portability of it!!

This is decent player for the price you can't expect much more than it has. I did manage to get the play store on it now it appears to be much faster not sure why. Search Youtube for instructions for playstore installation it was a little tricky but after about 20 min i got it installed. you have to be connected to your cpu via usb to install.

    Inexpensive Android Device

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I must preface this review by stating that I think a $59 android device with a touch screen is amazing in itself. You must also realize that for that price you should not be expecting a Samsung Note. I have found the device acceptable for checking my email, listening to MP3s, and playing an android game or two - such as Angry Birds. Many of my android apps simply will not run on this device so do not expect every app to perform on the Trio. If you want a little MP3 / Angry Bird player with photo and video capabilities for your child, or a little backup device for yourself to check the mail and peek at the internet or even watch a You Tube video, you may be satisfied. If you are looking for a powerful android device, you should look elsewhere, and expect to pay considerably more. I love gadgets and find it a fun device but would hate to ever rely on it as my primary unit. My suggestion is that if you are interested, buy it, try it, and return it if it does not meet your needs.

    Good "backup" device

I got this device to use as a MP3 player mainly, but soon realized that it could do way more. I now use it in tandem with my smartphone; some may say that this is redundant, but they don't understand the value of being able to keep your $600+ cell phone in your pocket when you just want to putz around with apps to kill time. Yes, the device would be better with at least a Dual Core processor and 1 GB of RAM, but then the price would be too close to a budget smartphone (and carrying two phones might be a tad silly).

Nice alternative for smart phone features.

This is an inexpensive alternative to a smart phone. It has most of a phone's features except you can't make calls. It has Android 4.0 OS and WIFI. It supports a 32M Micro chip. I installed OPERA Browser and GOOGLE Play to get additional apps. I use PANDORA when I'm in a "Free WIFI" zone (NO Data charges like a smart phone). Some needed things are it doesn't have Bluetooth support and slightly bigger/heavier than my cell (HTC). But for $60 bucks not much else you can ask for!

This is my first MP3 player that I bought. The set up was super easy and the images on the screen are really clear. since this was my first MP3 player, I did have a few questions and I call the phone number that came with the player for customer support and they were great. Super helpful. I have been using this almost everyday. it was a great price and the Stealth lite I think is an awesome MP3 player.

The good: Internet works great, not very complicated to use, can play mp4s, allows mini sd expansion. The bad: The speaker quality is painfully bad. My (cheap) phone has a better speaker. The screen scratches easily. It says 4gb, but it won't let you put more than 1.5gb of music on it. The terrible: The screen breaks very, very easily. Any pressure beyond a gentle brush with your finger risks it fracturing. The verdict: Don't bother unless you're going to be super careful. Never put it in your pocket, never let the kids touch it, and never press on the screen- only very gentle taps (Although that may scratch it anyway if you have calloused hands).

My daughter needed a new MP3 player so we stopped in to Best Buy to pick one up. After looking at other players we spotted the Trio and looked at it, with the Android os it was worth the few dollars more to have all the apps and wifi plus the MP3 player. Had it about 2mths and she loves it.
