It works perfectly and the length of the cable lets me leave the hard drive on my desk. While the MacBook is on the laptop stand.

I'm not thrilled that it takes so much pressure to push the thing all the way in. The other usb-c cables slide smoothly. This one stops and then has to be pushed by force the rest of the way.
