  • nice ups if you need rack mountable gear

    chose this because its rack mountable. racked it up and plugged in my devices, all works as it should. display is nice to get power readings. wish it was natively network connected and didn't rely on an external machine, but i knew that going in.

    I put this in my rack at home to keep my modem, router, switch, and voip device online in the event of a power outage. I had depth limitations and this fits perfectly. It only takes up 2RU so that's not bad!

    I have 4 switches and my router running off of this, lasts about 30-40 minutes including powering my 4 WAPs. Haven't tried it for a server (I'd get a higher capacity for that!) but for network devices to provide hand-off to a generator it's a great UPS at a great price.

    This particular UPS is not good. I use Tripp Lite products at work and the quality was never this bad. I actually purchased two of these and both have just shut themselves off without warning. For the price, you can probably find something better.

    Unlike other UPSs, all outlets are connected to battery. Great for rack mounting. LCD displays useful info. BUT, this unit has noticeable fan noise. If you plan to be near this UPS on a regular basis, I'd suggest a UPS with no fan.
