Very fun movie! Great blend of CGI and practical effects. Really keeps true to the folklore and superstitions about them, and makes it fun using the found footage style of filming. It is in Norwegian, but don’t let that sway you. Just makes it more authentic.

You really have to see this movie (if you can call it that) to believe it. This is one crazy flick. I found it extremely entertaining though. Anyway, it's in my collection forever now! Definitely worth watching.

Trolhunter is a great film. The special effects are great, it's suspenseful, the production value is awesome, it's also funny in some ways. It put's a fresh spin on the found footage genre. The worst thing about the movie is the ending, it's a bit abrupt and it leaves you wanting more. But all in all it's a great film.

This is one of the best "documentary"/"found footage" style films made since "The Blair Witch Project."

This movie is about a college camera crew investigating a big game "poacher" for a class and ending up becoming part of the story.

Fun take on the "found footage" genre

I first heard about this movie from acclaimed British film critic Mark Kermode, and as it came with his high recommendation, and I'm a fan of Scandinavian novels and films, at $8 for the Blu-ray, how can you go wrong?
"Troll Hunter" is a Norwegian found-footage "documentary" about three college students who come across, as the title would suggest, a man who hunts trolls for the government and keeps them in line. The film maintains a very serious and straight-faced approach overall, but also manages to lighten up the mood occasionally with plenty of humor, but not to the detriment of the action going on on-screen. The actors sell the material perfectly, and while we have certainly had quite an over-exposure of the whole "found footage" genre of late, "Troll Hunter" manages to come up with something fresh and different than its Hollywood cousins - it takes a classic myth and puts it firmly in today's context with fun results.

Surprisingly good for a movie about hunting trolls

This movie was an unexpected pleasure to watch. It was intense, but not horrifying. Had a sense of contrasting humor throughout; much like District 9 had in the first half. The characters are well written, the actors are convincing...and then there is Hans. Hans is, well...this movie IS Hans. One of the greatest characters in the "tough guy" genre. Chuck Norris would think twice about confronting Hans. Forget any hesitation concerning subtitles and preconceptions about "trolls" and just watch and enjoy Trollhunter.

I really like this found footage style of movies. There's something especially convincing about the type of acting expected from the actors in these roles. Trollhunter is a shining example of an exceptionally well executed found footage film. It's just a lot of fun and the world the filmmakers have created with the troll expert and the different kinds of trolls is very impressive.
