The story line in season 2 of "True Detective" wasn't as compelling as the first year's, but then the finale wasn't quite the bland co-opt of the maiden voyage either. Quality cast helps get you through some dull spots, while the intricate production design fills in tons of period detail to keep you absorbed.

The second season of the series got attacked, in my opinion very unfairly, in essence for not being season two. However, had it been exactly like season two, everyone would want their heads for being a one-trick pony. The series told two very different shows, very differently. This second installment finds three officers from different jurisdictions all embroiled in a case that sends each to his or her own private perdition. With dizzying support from Vince Vaughn as a Machiavellian businessman, Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams give nuanced career-notable performances just as good as Woody and Matthew did the first round

It's not as great as season one of True Detective, but do any "sequels" ever live up to the original? I thought it was great at times, but a few lulls left you wanting more. Rachel McAdams and Colin Farrel were the two best characters in this season. A fun ride all together. Worth a watch.

....I still enjoyed this second season with an even bigger cast. I will not spoil how this season ends but not how I expected it to end-- which is a plus. In fact, I look forward to watching it again soon. In fact, I believe that I will grow to like this season more in the years ahead.

No quite as good as the first season but no less interesting. Different kind of characters, different situations. It wasn't as bad as some of the reviews made it out to be. I enjoyed it just the same. The gunfight in the middle of season was phenomenal. Wow!.

Having seen the first season of this show, I immediately fell in love. Second season was not as great as the first, but I still enjoyed it and wanted it as part of my collection. Maybe a second viewing will bump my star rating to 5.

Season 2 has gotten a lot of flak, and while it deserves some of it, it's not nearly the disaster its reputation suggests. It's not nearly as great as Season 1 was, but on its own merits, Season 2 is still pretty good and worth watching.

This series is a TRUE detective show! Filled with mind bending plot twists that leave you guessing again and again and again. McAdams, Ferrel, and Vaughn make for a great trio to watch! And i personally think this is some of Vince Vaughn' s best acting. Perfect follow up to season 1, and amazing that they chose to use a different director AND cast for this season. Loved it!

HBO had a big hit with TRUE DETECTIVE, Season 1 so expectations were very high for Season 2. Season 2 has a different lead cast than Season 1 and although season 2 is entertaining it does not quite meet the excellence of season 1.

The Dell Inspiron 3650 is a very nice replacement desktop computer. The Best Buy Geek Squad loaded all of my previous software and the set-up was very easy after that. Overall a reasonably pleasant experience. Thanks.

Different on many aspects from S 1, but still a solid buy. Pay attention to the first disc as it gets rolling, then sit back and enjoy. If youre a Vince Vaughn fan...you'll love his role in this. Its intense.

Like season one, the characters are very believable, the plot is intriguing, and the acting is superb. Not the usual detective story from the networks. This is gritty, macabre, and fun all at the same time.

If you're looking for something action packed & fast paced this may not be what you want, right now but it is another great story (loved season 1, too) with good acting, if you're willing to pay attention. :)

True Detective Season 2 was really good but unfortunately not as good as season 1. The cast was really beefed up but never really seemed to gain any real good traction. But like I said. Good. Not Great.

This season is good don't get me wrong. The first one was great and this one is good. The acting is strong the story is good just not as good as season one. Also is a little slow. But overall is very good.

Loved the first season and decided to give this second season a go, it had everything to be great, but it felt a bit short.I enjoyed it, but again, it can't compare to the first season

This show took a lot of heat due to the impossibly large shoes it had to fill left by season 1. Granted season 1 was better, but this show was still WAY better than most of what was on TV at the time.

What can I say? I loved season 1 and season 2 came up a winner as well. Great cast and writing and for me personally I recognized several of the locations where they shot as they were right here in my back yard of Ventura County CA. The presentation and quality is great as is expected nowadays on Blu Ray and the deal at Best Buy was too good to pass up. If you're a fan, this will be a great addition to your collection!

We bought True Detective, Season 2 because we LOVED Season 1. This season was good, but not quite as good as the first season. I had a hard time getting into, but overall it was good.

I didn't think it was a bad show, but if you compare it to the first season, of course you'll be disappointed. I'm more sad about season 3 being cancelled. If you're interested give it a try.
