True Detective Season 2 has one major flaw, it follows the masterpiece that is Season 1. That being said. it's still a sold drama with a great cast, a sense of dread and suspense throughout.

The second season was a good show. I feel if it didn't have the title of true detective it wouldn't have to have been as amazing as the first season but this was a let down in the plot.

The first season of true detective was fantastic. It was original and fresh. It's two leads held our attention every second they were on the screen. The story was well thought out and (as mentioned above) original. Unfortunately this season isn't like the first season. It's mostly boring. And it gets confusing especially with so many main characters. It's a shame because this season had the potential to be so much greater than it actually was. I can only recommend it if you are a fan of any of the main actors or if you like the show.

The technical merits of this release are top-notch, but the show itself leaves something to be desired. Feels undercooked, though it's not the disaster many critics made it out to be.

Rivals Season 1 for its excellent acting, plot line and twisting dead ends. The kudos have been heaped on Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn but Rachel MacAdams turns in a superb performance. The climax was surprising--it was not what I had expected. I can't wait for Season 3 of this brilliant cable TV series.

I'm a big true detective fan. Season 1 was awesome!!! But season 2 was good. The story line is totally different from season 1 which made it less exciting. But overall good season

The first season of this show was pretty much perfect so it's hard to top that. Still, this is a solid show and in a vacuum, it would be much more highly regarded.

I freaked about how good the 1st season was, so had high hopes for this one. It's kinda a slow burn for the 1st 3 episodes, but it's well worth very high praise.

Despite the horrible reviews season 2 got in comparison to the 1st season I must say I have to disagree. Sure it wasn't as good as the 1st season but that season was capturing lightning in a bottle! Sure, I will admit the second season started off slow in comparison but once it got rolling it was just as good as good as the 1st season in wanting to see the finale!

I wish they could have had more episodes in Season 2, but that is a minor point. If you liked Season One, you may be slightly disappointed here, but it is still good.

I give the Second Season 4 outta 5 stars, only because Season 1 is a tough act to follow. Vince V, Colin Farell, and Rachel M killed it though. RECOMMENDED.

If you are a fan of the series and enjoyed season one, season 2 is a must own. It's not quite as good, but definitely enjoyable and worth the watch.

The second season of True Detective falls short of season one, but it is a story that merits a couple of run-throughs before coming to a conclusion...

I thought this seasons storyline was good but I wish they had a little bit more time on developing the characters more ...but it's HBO so I can't complain

Even Vince Vaughan's mobster character is sympathetic. He may even have been my favorite. I really like the way it ended, even though it was a bit sad.

It was going to be a challenge to equal the quality and daring storytelling of the first season and sadly the second season falls way below. The good is the acting by the leads, particularly Colin Farrell and some very good scenes scattered about. The bad, main story line is very disjointed and imbued with cliches we've seen before. There is a dramatic drop in quality for the dialogue as well. The show isn't horrible but it's no True Detective season 1.

I actually enjoyed this season. It was a step down from the amazingness that was Season 1, but still better than most of what is out there.

The second season of HBO's True Detective is a great viewing experience. Keep in mind it is a completely unrelated story line from season 1. Season 2 is different but in a good way, it definitely starts off slow but the slow start pays off in the end. I would recommend this season to any true detective fans or fans of other HBO series

I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 and found this season more confusing but interesting. I did like the atmosphere of Los Angeles that was portrayed.

Fantastic acting by all three main stars. However I still like the first season better. Plot was good, but not as great as the first.
