The acting and partnership of Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey is unmatched. What a gripping and suspenseful series. HBO has outdone themselves again.

Depending on who you ask you might hear that this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Don't get your hopes up that high because that's too lofty a goal for almost anything, but this show is very good in nearly every way. If you like detective shows with intriguing mysteries then this will be a great season to watch.

Great story line with superb acting by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Tale of two detectives trying to work out personal issues while they try to solve a series of murders in the Bayou country.

One of the best 'mini series I have seen. Great cast, Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey form an entertaining team and are very believable in their roles. Will be hard for season 2 to match.

Two of my favorite actors star in the mini series. Loved the story line twists and the Louisiana setting. Watched it 4 times already ant still find something New that I missed in previous views.

Great acting and interaction between Woody and Matthew. Quite the drama of a murder in Louisiana that intertwines their personal and professional lives. It all comes together in a great movie.

Moody and engrossing, the first season of "True Detective" looks great on Blu-ray and boasts nice features with the creative team. Harrelson's character is a bit trying, especially the dead-end story with his wife, but his Oscar-winning co-star more than makes up for the deficit. Weak ending, but it does leave open the possibility of a "chapter two."

This a show with many great scenes, detailed characters, incredible acting and an interesting story which entails solving some murders. Very dark and drama filled with a hint thriller

True Detective is AMAZING, the acting, cinematography the story line everything was fantastic. I've watched it 4 times already and every time I catch something new. All I can say is WHAT A SERIES!!!!!

Woody and Matt prove how good of actors and writers they are with True Detective. Suspenseful, and nearly perfect. Plan on watching the season in a weekend as its hard to stop once you start.

This was the first and best of the True Detective series.Acting by the main characters is phenomenal.

The darkness and philosophy, bolstered by a superb cast, is what makes True Detective a must-see! This Blu-Ray edition, with excellent special features is a great way to enjoy this over and over!

This is a great tv show with an awsome story that will make you want to see it in one sitting. You don't need to see season 2 (which left a lot to be desired). Totally recommended !!

I had heard this was a good show, that is why I purchased it. Got hooked within the first five minutes, and eight hours later, I was hitting the restart button. Loved it!

I had been contemplating getting this program for months. When it went on sale I purchased it and I'm glad I did. It was very well written and a great storie. I couldn't stop watching it.

I bought this for my adult son for his birthday. He raved about the series and never missed an episode. He was thrilled to have the entire season on blue ray to be able to watch for years to come.

I' missed it when it first came out but watched it on hbo later and loved it so much I bought it. It might be the best tv show I have ever seen.

For those of you who love crime dramas, this is the show for you. Woody and Matthew are brilliant. I found myself watching episode after episode, not wanting to stop. Can't wait for season 2!
