I bought several movies at on time and they all were in great condition

John Wayne never looked better. Blu-ray gives new life to old movies.

I'm usually disappointed viewing a film after reading the book - not so here. My best recollection is that the characters followed the book with only minor deviations. I also enjoy Glen Campbell even though his acting here seemed a bit forced/unnatural or maybe that was the way the character was to be portrayed ...? After all, he always carried his end of the log on his TV show. I recently heard he's ailing with something incurable. I'm gonna miss 'em. The "special features" offer very interesting information for the average film buff.

TRUE GRIT is a well-written screenplay and unlike any other western in which John Wayne has starred. His unusually defined gritty performance was truly worthy of an Oscar. The scenery and terrain in the film and its cinematography were outstanding,

Most people agree this wasn't Wayne's "best" performance (and that the Oscar win was a much overdue acknowledgement for his body of work). THAT SAID, this is STILL a great movie that has held up well. Everyone knows gunslingers and everyone knows the classic image of a cowboy on a cattle drive. But here we've got an ageing, hard drinking, disenchanted lawman who STILL knows when something is plain "wrong". Wayne broke new ground with this role, and Marshall Rooster Cogburn became an icon. Kim Darby's characterization of Mattie Ross ALSO broke new ground, giving us a strong young woman who keeps focused on avenging her father's death. If you've been on another planet and haven't seen this movie, give it a look. It won't disappoint....pilgrim.

The Duke at his best. If you enjoy John Wayne at his old cowboy best this movie is for you. A young Glen Campbell brings a different perspective to the proceedings which only added to the viewing pleasure. Kim Darby's performance was exceptional as it had me irritated by her early before loving her at the conclusion. A great movie with lots of action and humor as well.

A great old western starring legendary actor John Wayne for which he won his only academy award for this film. Also, starring actress Kim Darby and singer Glen Campbell making his film debut. The title song was also sung by Campbell who released the single "True Grit" in 1969.

John Wayne in another movie of Rooster Cogburn. There are references to the movie in the sequel. The viewer should watch both and in order for the best effect. This is a great western and has dialog that is not found in most movies theses days. You need to listen as well as watch for the best effect.

Shows the Duke at his best!!!! He should have worn an eye patch in all of his movies. This is the film that cemented his legacy. This is a movie with lots of action. Great supporting cast. with Kim Darby and Glen Campbell. I make it a point to watch it at least once a year.

I'm a firm believer in an original product. This title is the original version of the film starring John Wayne. This will always by far, be the best version of this movie. The remake is okay but not to my standard. If you want a good John Wayne moviethen this is for you.

Hey, it's John Wayne... You either love him or hate him. It's nice to watch a classic western on Blu-Ray, on a big screen. One of my top 5 John Wayne movies...!

great movie! I watched this at the theater when it originally came out. always wanted this movie on DVD and now I've got it to watch whenever I want to.

You can't beat the old John Wayne westerns. This one has a reputation of being one of his best. I have finally watched it, and wonder why they ever thought they needed to remake it...

It was shipped on time and everything looked ok. Until I confirm if the DVD worked as it was a Christmas gift, everything seemed ok otherwise.

Great movie - entertaining, enjoyable, well-plotted, good dialog, good characterization -- one of those movies you can watch repeatedly and still enjoy

Although John Wayne is in the twilight of career his Oscar winning performance demonstrates why he is skillful actor and legendary person. His memorable character proves how he could keep your attention because of all the years of experience that honed his craft. The Duke's a one-a-of-kind hero.

Even though the remake is "technically" more faithful to the book, you can't have one without the other, and this is just great John Wayne here!

I changed my mind on this movie over the years. When I first watched it as a much younger person, I thought the acting was forced and "hokey". Seeing it now though, I have a much greater appreciation for John Wayne in this role. Although I think Glenn Campbell is miscast at best......

Two words... John Wayne ...need any more!!.. Filled with great actors and action , another must see movie, so happy this came out on blu ray

With the Blu-ray version was very clear and the mountains were beautiful.
