Arrow Video remastered this movie in 4k with dolby vision, and its the best the movie has ever looked. 2.0 stereo is included, which is always one of my favorite features. Spatial/surround sound audio is cool and all, but with a movie like this from the 90’s, stereo just fits. I cant really describe it. Its like playing a beatles 45 vs a digital file. It may not be better, but it just sounds right. The movie itself is exactly how i remember it. Too violent at times, but the story and acting are so good that i deal with it. Quentin Tarantino wrote the movie, but didnt direct, so it is inherently much like his other work. I cant think of another movie by Tarantino that i actually enjoy, theyre just too violent and the characters are always awful people. Django unchained might be the only other exception. If you like Christopher Walken, or Brad Pitt, or Christian Slater, or Gary Oldman, or Samuel L Jackson, or James Gandolfini, or Val Kilmer, give this movie a chance. Its some of the best dialogue and character work by all of them. Also the special edition includes a poster, lobby cards, and a booklet with all kinds of notes and interviews about making the movie. The limited edition wont last, so its better to get it while its still around at retail.
