Great overall headphones for the casual gamer!

My initial reason on purchasing this headset was to supplement my current PS4 headset (Gold Edition PS4 Headphones) which is a great, great headset but the battery life was horrible. I recently picked up Black Ops 3 for the PS4 and the Gold PS4 headset would die after just a few hours of gameplay (Not to mention that I own TWO PS4 controllers because the battery life is horrible as well, the light bar kills the battery tremendously, no way to turn it off.) so, I decided on purchasing a new headset to game with. After numerous days of researching between headphone brands (since I loved my Gold PS4 headphones so much, I almost bought the grey 20th anniversary Gold PS4 Edition to go along side with the controller.) going wired or wireless, price points, features, etc...I ultimately decided on the Turtle Beach PX24. I own both a PS4 & an Xbox One which was a plus in my book since it's compatible with both systems. (Keep in mind that if you have the non-3.5mm Xbox One controller, you'll have to purchase a stereo adapter for this particular headset to work, since the Xbox One controller lasts a lot longer than the PS4 controller, I'm just going to buy the Microsoft ChatPad, it doubles as a stereo adapter so can you use the PX24 with it, and one top of that, it's a chatpad, which is a win-win in my book!) The battery life on the amp which powers the headphones is tested by Turtle Beach to run 30+ hours of gameplay. I don't play that long of a gaming session to compare that claim but I'll take their word for it. It lasts longer than my Gold PS4 headset in real time so I'm assuming that claim is correct. It plugs directly to the PS4 3.5mm jack & if you have the new Xbox One controller, the same applies. Like I said, if you have the old Xbox One controller, I recommend on buying the ChatPad if you do not want to buy a new controller. Now my cons, or should I say con. The only gripe I have is that the voice/party chat & game volume are one and the same, it cannot be controlled separately since it's main audio source is coming from your controller. The more expensive headphones I think, don't quote on this, have this functionality. I'm not going to spend console money to have this functionality, it's just not that serious to be honest. You'll have to adjust accordingly in the party settings to get the right balance, and believe me you are going to want to since certain people can be louder or have that annoying friend that run movies while they game?! Lol, which makes no sense to me at all! Why are you even playing lol... In terms of comfort & fit, it's pretty comfortable for a hour or so #you should take breaks anyway to rest your eyes & head) it does leave indentations on the side of your head if you wear glasses like me when you game, so it's best to take a break if you've been playing for an hour or so. Overall, pretty comfortable. Conclusion, it's price point is excellent if you are a casual gamer, even if you game a lot, the amp lasts a long time so I wouldn't be surprised if it did last 30+ hours, your controller might die before your amp does though. Multi-platform compatibility, Super-Human hearing which does work for Call Of Duty type games to enhance your gameplay. It gets the job done for my personal needs and I will definitely enjoy this headset for many years to come!

So I got this when I was in NEED of new headphones I expected amazing things to come out of this product which I spent close to $100 on. And I think that my cheap $25 afterglow lvl 3 headset would perform better.... so by now you are probably wondering why I hate it well it's because (and no exaggeration here I'm serious) my mic cuts out every 5-10 seconds... and by that I mean I can't say anything in a party/chat And I can't hear any noise, game volume, or my friends talking.... so imagine yourself in a party with friends and you can't hear them and you can't talk... it sucks and also if you are in a chat/ party you know how you can hear someone's mic echoing... yah that would be your mic. Also if you can hear your own voice it's dumb... oh also you know how it says "30 hours off powered gameplay" on the box yah the battery lasts for 1 hour and a half just going to point that out so this is the BIGGEST waste of money and time that I have ever had... oh and lemme also say that it's just not only my mic I had the same one previously and it did the same exact thing so I returned that and got a new one and it STILL DOES THE SAME THING... so overall I hate this and do not buy it there is so many other good mice out there... actually by the $25 mic it will probably perform better...

First, to note, I use these on a PS4. These headphones work wonderfully. I also happen to own a pair of Sony Gold headphones, and I must say these sound a whole lot better. I mostly only use them for playing online games like ESO and Blacks Ops III, and I can hear so much better with these on, especially when other people are talking. Plus they make it really easy to tell where the enemy is coming from in Black Ops III. They seem well built, and are comfortable to wear. The only problem I have is the cords. The headphones plug into a "super amp" which plugs into the PS4 to charge, and also has to be plugged into the controller for sound/mic. If plan to play while charging, you need to get a long USB charge cable, which I believe is the same as the one you use for the controller. The way I play, I usually have the 'super amp' on my lap while playing, and sometimes it can be a bit annoying with all the cords all over. I would have rather just plugged the headset directly into the PS4 via USB and get power, sound, and mic that way. Still great, I would definitely recommend that you give these a try.

Broke in 1 month of normal use

I got this for christmas, and it lasted about a month. In about the 1st week of February, the left ear cup broke off, no rough treatment whatsoever, didn't hit it/drop it/step on it, nothing. By late Feb/early March, the other broke off. The sound quality was okay at best, the controller didn't do much except waste my time, and I never used the mic, but given the quality of the rest of it, I'm not optimistic. The head band connecting the two cups is relatively comfortable for short sessions, but would slip off my head every 10-20 minutes. The arms are made out of light, cheap plastic, and you can tell it's low quality the second you touch it. My previous headset, a Tritton Kunai, was probably 3-4 years old when it gave out, not 1 month, and took quite a beating over that time. And even at 3-4 years old, it was still many times better than this, and cost less to buy. I'm returning it shortly, and I'm not getting another Turtle Beach product until I die, or after, for that matter. I'd honestly give it negative stars if I could.

Sounds Awesome BUT if it is for a PC big surprise!

Hello, When I was at Best Buy the PX24 headset for $80 bucks stood out from the pack so I splurged and made the purchase. I got home and and connected everything and guess what, it was missing the audio / mic splitter to connect to my NEW DELL PC. After reading the manual in the box, DID I SAY "IN THE BOX", I found out that Turtle Beach did not include it. I thought, no big deal, I will just find one at Best Buy to purchase or another retail store because it must be a cheap part. Well guess what? Best Buy did not sell it, Walxxx and Targxx didn't either. What did I do? I took the $80.00 headset back to Best Buy and got my money back. Next time Turtle Beach that you put in your advertising that it will "connect virtually to any pc", you better hold to your word and not go cheap on a dollar part that you could of just included in the box. NO WAY was I going to order it online and wait days for a part that should of been included. I WOULD RATHER, AND DID, MADE YOU EAT YOUR RETURN. By the way, I was totally happy with the performance of the headset. Sounded freaking awesome. Too bad you could not hold your promise to the PC clientele as stated on the box. Really Disappointed,

Doesn't come with the parts to work with PC

Warning! This headset may require a PC splitter cable, which does not come included! I returned a cheap Plantronics headset to purchase these. The Plantronics worked fine, but were not very comfortable. So I upgraded and bought these. I was so excited to get home and start using them. However when I got home and opened the box I realized that although these claim to be PC compatible, they required a PC splitter cable to function with my PC. My PC is a gaming computer less than a year old. I would have to order this part form Turtle Beach and wait for it to be shipped to me. After getting excited and having my hopes up this was a big disappointment. I can't understand why a cheap headset can come with the necessary parts to work properly but this more advanced headset can't. Nobody in the world wants to buy a product, take it home, and have to spend more money and then wait on a piece for it to even function. I was just not a happy purchaser.

I use this headset when playing COD4. In the past, I used Turtle Beach wireless headphones -- most recently, I had used the TB Stealth 500x headset, which was (sadly) discontinued. I'm not sure why TB discontinued the 500x headset (it may have been that the 500x broke easily in inexperienced hands?), but this headset is nearly as good. I don't think the surround sound is as good in this headset, but the headset has the advantage of using an in-line mixer that comes with it. One thing you should keep in mind if considering this purchase is that works ONLY with a new xbox one controller AND the updated audio/chat adapter. So if you never upgraded your controller or if you're not sure that you have a new xbox one controller and upgraded chat adapter, then you might have only the old controller and/or chat adapter. I purchased this, then learned that I had to upgrade my controller and chat adapter. So cost-wise, this wasn't a great deal but I'm not disappointed with the overall quality. One thing I have noticed is that when I turn Xbox One on, I usually have to disconnect the chat adapter and then reconnect the chat adapter to get it to function properly. Other than this, the device works quite well.

    Great Headset

these are a great pair of headsets in my opinion. others may say they have cheap build quality because they are plastic but to be honest they feel good and those saying they feel cheap probably dont take care of any headsets and buy new ones every 2 to 3 months after breaking their current headsets. Sound Quality is superb with rich base and mids. lows are decent as well. The mix amp is the heart and soul of the headset. without it you cant have surround sound, mic monitoring, and bass boost. you can also mute your mic and have what is called "superhuman hearing" which i dont use much. the fact that i can hear my own voice is a plus! never again do i have to sound like im underwater whenever i talk. with mic monitoring on the mix amp i can adjust how loud i want to hear myself and the voice quality you hear from your own voice through the headset is the quality others will hear. i give the mic a 10/10. For about $80, i feel like i got more than what i paid for. Oh and the headsets may not be as comfortable as other headsets but they can last you a good 3 hours of gameplay. ive never played for 7 to 8 hours like others do, i have many other things to do but they are okay when it comes to comfortability. I rate this headset an 8/10

I've had the Sony Playstation Gold Headset for a few years now and started experiencing dropped audio even though I'm only ten feet away from the console. Turtle Beach is known for high quality headsets, but I wasn't looking to spend a ton of money. I saw several good reviews for this headset and for the price, I figured I'd take a shot. It plugs into the controller so you might get tangled up, though the cord isn't too long. I like the fact you can adjust multiple settings for the headset on the control panel. The mic volume is nice. You can turn it up just enough to hear your voice so you know just how loud you're talking and your family doesn't have to hear you yelling. Sound quality is good and the set is comfortable to wear for long playing sessions. It doesn't hurt the sides of my head like the Gold ones did. If you're on the fence, go ahead and jump over and buy it.

These are amazing, the sound quality is great and the fit is more comfortable than another brand i had before these. The wire from the controller to amp is a bit short so it sits on my lap, but I'm used to it now. The great thing about the rechargeable amp is that if it goes dead, you just disconnect it and connect it to the charge cable, then plug the headset directly into your controller. The sound quality is still great without the amp, and the battery life is claimed to be 30 hours. I haven't timed it because even without the amp connected, the sound is very good. These are a huge value for the money considering you can pay $300+ for some of the competition. Just remember to switch the amp off when you finish.

He is a huge gamer and is in the process of starting a youtube channel therefore he is investing in this products. Although the sound is pretty good and hooking it up was easy I must say I am slightly disappointed in the hardware material and durability. The first head set he purchased were broken. There is a portion where you connect it to have super human sound and charge it but the slot where the cord connects was lose. We exchanged them at Best Buy thinking it was defected but not even 2 weeks later the same part is broken on the replacement. I am thinking of contacting the manufacturer. Because of the missing part he cannot hear himself speak just the others in the party which makes him really loud!

These headset's aren't what I truly expected. The good: Great comfort even after several hours of gaming. Very well suited for people with big or small ears/heads etc. The sound quality is crisp & AMAZING. You can hear every footstep around you in FPS games. Mic quality is very crisp & clear. The bad: Surround sound is very high depth and pitchy, sounds like you are losing your hearing. I suggest staying with stereo mode. The WORST: Quality of PX 24's is HORRENDOUS. 1st pair snapped along the sides where you adjust the mic. I had warranty so I picked up a brand new pair. New pair started getting tears within 2 months. I am exceptionally delicate with my things, ESPECIALLY headphones. I have had beats for 4 years now no problems. Never broke any headphones. The build quality is the worst of the worst. Do not recommend.

I just wanted you guys to check out this review for this AMAZING product. I was in desperate need of a new headset after I tried cutting the wires on my previous turtle beaches because I couldn't sit comfortably on my couch and play that far from my tv. This product my internet family is GREAT! It was simple as taking out the headset plugging it in to my ps4 controller and playing! There is a little control panel that comes with it *remember to turn on and OFF* it is phenomenal you can adjust volume, the type of heading adjustments you need according to the way you like to play, super hearing *makes the game volume louder and more in depth than usual playing* and the mute option. The headset it self is very comfortable but after playing for a long time it starts to slightly hurt/irritate my head I don't know I guess I might have a big head but besides that this product is great and a must buy if you are in need of a good headset at a good price.

I originally ordered the Turtle Beach RECON 150 Wired Gaming Headset for my son for Christmas. At that time, it was on sale for $49.99. However, when my husband went to pick up our order, this item was out-of-stock. One of Best Buy's knowledgeable employees helped my husband choose a comparable gaming headset; the Turtle Beach Ear Force PX24. Although this headset was not on sale ($79.99), the Ear Force PX24 was well worth the extra $30.00!! The major differences between the two, which turned out to be the best features (according to my family), are the Virtual surround sound, Ear Force Super-Amp in-line amplifier, and High-sensitivity, adjustable microphone. My son is absolutely thrilled with the PX24 gaming headphones and my husband and I are confident that the extra $30.00 was an extra $30.00 well spent!

I have owned it for 8 months until today when one side broke. It seemed durable at first then a few months later it broke at one of the arms. I particularly really liked this headset because it was my first Turtle Beach gaming headset and it has plenty of features, I didn't really need to use the SuperHuman hearing because it was super loud for me who doesn't blast my music, and it wasn't an inconvenience to just dial up the volume as necessary. Modifying the amount of surround, bass and mic monitoring was very helpful when trying to tailor its functions to the users' taste. Only problem was that module is kinda big and can be cumbersome with its placement and can get in the way sometimes.

I had a great cheap pair of turtle beaches for years and wanted to replace them. These seemed like they would fit the bill, but they sadly did not. The biggest criticism right after I put them on was how uncomfortable they are after any significant period of time. I consider myself to have a generally normal sized head, and these were just squeezing around my ears like crazy. They were literally giving me a headache which is when I knew I had to return them. The other thing is that the sound is just not that amazing. Having to charge the amplifier is a huge pain, not to mention that the "superhuman hearing" thing honestly seems like a big gimmick to me. It seemed to just make everything super loud and not helpful in game. Now I will say that the mic seemed good. Truthfully I am still a fan of turtle beach but some of their headsets are simply not worth buying, and this is one of them.

I wasn't sure what what route to go for headsets because I've always bought cheaper ones that break after some moderate usage. So far I've enjoyed the sound quality these headphones give with many games and the mic clarity is great. I especially like the sound booster that you can attach to the headset to turn up the mic volume, bass etc or you can change the background noise of people talking over the game so your head isnt pounding. I suppose the only downside would be that its a wired set but honestly the whole thing is comfortable and I'm only a few feet away from the console and TV. I wish i had a stand or storage device for the headset and amp device so that it does not get damaged. I'm still using the original box. I'd recommend this for the average gamer who wants great sound at a fair price.

These were a gift for xmas.I do alot of gaming and sometimes like to have the TV up loud late at night. Easy setup and use on PS4 and PC. Good sound quality even better with the super human sound button pressed. Blocks out all outside noise (I couldnt even hear wife and kids yelling that they were ready to goto dinner and they were almost standing behind me.. lol) comfortable fit. I wear glasses and the headset doesnt bother me during long usage. Long battery life out the box. Used for 3 days before I had to charge. Like the fact that I can charge while using. The only con I can think of is if your not using the mic and dont hit the mute button you will hear outside noises. Other than that they are a all around good pair of wired headsets for gaming and watching movies on PC

Pros: has independent game and chat volumes. covers the ears and keeps out other noise. comes with in line amplifier/control. works with any device that supports 3.5mm 4 pole connection. compatible with almost everything. Cons: amplifier is battery powered but is rechargeable and has a long battery life. requires you to switch modes to control the different volumes. Other Thoughts: i purchased this to replace my PX22 that had eventually died. the old PX22 amp still worked perfectly so i have been using the new headset on the old amplifier. the headset cushions take a little breaking in but this helps stop it from sliding around as you dance in your chair hoping that it will help your dodge bullets ;)

I checked all the reviews before my purchase. I'm a serious gamer for a 47yr old Family man. Who splits time played between a 11yr old boy. My son doesn't use the super human hearing device. I can't play without it. But we both agree these headphones for the price is worth it. I can say from experience these TB headphones are 100% better then the Sony PlayStation over the ear headphones. The only downside is the headphones are gonna have breaking in period. So they're a little tight over your head in the beginning. Would I recommend these to a friend? I did , and he bought them the next day an he completely loves them. I told you
