Customers are saying

Customers commend the Elite 800 Wireless DTS 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Gaming Headset's exceptional sound quality, wireless functionality, and comfortable design. Many also appreciate its good battery life. However, some users find the buttons overly sensitive, the price high, and the fit snug for larger heads. A few also noted the headset's weight as a potential issue during extended use.

I purchased the headset so I could play online and I had a few gift cards to burn. The sound and noise cancellation are fantastic, you can adjust gaming and chat vol as you please to get the perfect combo! The Blluetooth needs work or i have to read the instructions, lol... I could hear the call come in and it paused my game but the person on the other end couldn't hear me unless I used the phone rather than the headset. Another feature the headset provides are pre set audio functions much like an AV receiver along with personal adjustments. Make sure to register your purchase on turtle beach.com for a free shirt and your choice of 2 diffrent ear covers! Comfort, feels nice but after and hour or two i had to remove them, my ears don't fit completely in so I took a star off. Finally, the magnetic stand holds the headset in place and is aesthetically appealing.

I've never thought I would ever buy a $300 headphones just for gaming! But now I'm in love with this! I barely use my Soundbar anymore in my room! The best thing I like about it is that you can connect it with your phone via Bluetooth! While you're playing your game and someone calls you, you can just answer the phone and talk without taking off your headphones. You can still hear the game in the background while talking on the phone.

I upgraded my headphones from the Playstation Sony Gold. These were a huge upgrade. The padding on the band and ear muffs work for extended gaming. Does not make your ears warm. The sound is superb. I can hear the slightest sounds. Perfect for online game play. My only concern was the price. It was hard to justify the $250 price tag. But have got a lot of use out of them. I am also able to use the Bluetooth capabilities to use on my phone for music. So they can be multi-purpose. If you play a lot of games I would recommend these.

For starters, this headset sounds amazing. Bass can be heavy but that's never a problem. Crisp clean sound at any volume. The Bluetooth allows me to switch between calls and game chat. And the noise cancelling technology silences all exterior noise. I've had the stealth 500x and the Astro A50's and they couldn't compare!

The sound on this headset is excellent for Dolby Digital surround. It still doesn't compare to the sound of true 5.1 surround sound headsets. It has various ways of customizing sound, or that you're playing a video game, listening to music, or watching a movie. The only real drawback is that the side buttons can be easily pushed, causing them to mute or affect volume unintentionally. My first set had an issue with static. But the concierge service at Turtle Beach were very friendly and they sent me a replacement right away without asking too many questions. I like the convenience of the charging station. The Bluetooth function works flawlessly with my Android phone and my Android tablet. I am planning on taking it on trips. The padding is incredible and you can wear this headset for hours. The noise cancellation is a bit strange. When you turn on the noise cancellation function there is a very slight but Audible thumping sound , for lack of a better description. If I use the noise cancellation fee for too long, it gives me a headache. But that might be just me. The material on the ear pads and the top of the headset is a soft leatherette and they do a great job at sealing out all exterior sounds. I would probably go for another headset, a true 5.1 surround sound set at this price point. I play Tom Clancy's The Division, and I was hoping it would give me a good spatial sense within the game. You can clearly hear left and right but it is hard to distinguish whether footsteps or gunshots are coming from the front of you or behind you.

Sound quality is not what i paid for. Device lost connection to router and cannot play sound. Overall overpriced. Still good sound and connects to phone via Bluetooth tooth. Buttons are too easy to push. Accidentally turn on/ off while picking up headphones or just wearing them.

As many other reviews have stated both here and Amazon, the worst part about these headphones are the sensitive buttons. If you stretch your neck side to side and accidentally touch the headphones to your shoulders, the bottom buttons will trigger. When I have them around my neck and turn the phones flat against my chest, the buttons will trigger if I turn my head and my chin hits them. They are SUPER sensitive and the lightest touch is all that is necessary to press them. Now that that's out of the way, these headphones have a powerful sound, and solid construction. The different presets like movie, game, or music mode all have at least four individual settings to really help capture the essence of sound for what you're listening to. I had purchased the G933 Logitechs just before, but they only had good sound when connected to a PC via USB. When I was playing xbox or watching tv, they had a maximum setting of quiet. The Logitechs were wireless but that only worked with PC using a USB receiver; but these Turtle Beaches, they are wireless through and through. Connect the receiver to whatever device like you would any other headphone (slightly different), and the headphones are completely wireless. My second and final complaint is that when they are dying, the internal voice repeats this fact about every minute or so at the same volume as whatever you're listening to. It's explosive! And, whenever the onboard voice speaks, affirming your selection or updating low battery, it cuts out all other sound. Unnecessary if you ask me. But, to end on a good note, these headphones are wireless and have awesome sound recreation. They connect via Bluetooth to your phone and can simultaneously play music while you're listening to the Xbox sounds. Sometimes weird, but I just changed certain Xbox settings. I haven't taken a call while on console so I don't know if calls will cut other sounds, but the wireless range is exceptional. Walking around my entire house, I never lost signal until I went into our completely cement garage. I'd highly recommend these as your one stop shop for decent headphones for multiple mediums.

I've heard complaints about the quality of Turtle Beach headphones. However these things give great sound and I love that chat and game volumes are completely separate. They are truly Wireless and not just attached to a wireless controller. So no more ripping headphones off my head or tossing controllers around when I stand up suddenly and forget I'm attached!

This thing had so many bells and whistles it is ridiculous...but there are some cons: - there was a constant hiss whenever you weren't playing. I was able to look past this though, because as soon as there is sound you don't really notice it. - Volume WAY too low for this price Deciding factor - During gameplay the headset would begin to cut out with slight fuzz for about 5 seconds, and then return to normal sound. Crackling would also happen at that point if there was bass involved in the game. This would happen every 2-5 minutes. That was the breaking point for me and now I am trying out the A50.

Bought these as a gift for my husband so he could play his video games without blasting my home with sound. Now I actually have to walk into the room so he can see me if I want him to hear anything I'm saying. Prior to these he did try the Sennheiser PC 363D Gaming Headset, but the quality was not good at all on his X-box One. He's very much into the latest and greatest gadgets, these ones have impressed him for sure. For a wife these are also awesome, you get to watch TV or listen to your radio without hearing bombs going off or guns firing all around you from a video game, lol.

The surround sound is great and I love how it's completely wireless. It's not as comfortable as my old Astro A50 and I think that the A50 is actually louder. However that trade off for the Bluetooth and wireless features makes this a headset I can recommend. The recharging cradle is also a very good feature.

I got these headphones after I returned my Xbox One and what a great decision that was! These work perfect with my PS4 and the clarity is superb! An added bonus is being able to connect via BT with my iPhone! Now I can game, listen to music and answer my phone calls without taking the headphones off my head! A must buy for gamers!

Good value, for solid all-around earphones. I've owned and played with $300 dollar untis and these come very close. No problems with the mic settings. Others can her me just fine, which I thought might be a problem without the boom. It's not. They're comfortable and with the app you can quickly apply custom settings. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the power will turn off on its own periodically without prompting it. It's not often, so not a huge deal. More of a minor annoyance. Other than that, these are a good balance between ease of use, functionality, and cost.

I bought this headset to not only use for gaming but also listening to music from my phone. I was a little afraid due to the price but it is well worth it. The headset holds a great charge, the mic works very very well, and it streams music from my phone perfectly. I am very satisfied with this purchase!
