Easy to install. Great price. Long hours before recharging. Snug fit. Adjustable headband. Four sound settings. Most rugged Turtle Beach headset I've ever had. Their headsets generally use to be very flimsy but finally they got it right on the 600's. Only drawback is some noise from plastic parts moving back and forth when eating with them on. Only for Xbox one/oneX and Xbox series consoles.

I just unboxed the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gaming Headset. The box contains the headset, USB dongle, a USB/A to USBc cable, and an instruction booklet with a sticker.
I plugged the dongle into my gaming PC, and it just kept trying to connect. The headset would beep, then the PC speaker, back and forth, over, and over. So, I tried a different USB port and no problem. It must be the PC USB port on my stand. The one that worked was directly into the back of the monitor (it’s an HP all-in-one). So that set, I think I’ll just play an old game and see how it does. I try to fire up Command and Conquer, but it’s so old through the Origin App, it has the DirectX 8.1 issue. I’ll deal with that later. So, what’s a new game that shouldn’t have any issues. Madden 22 sounds good. I get the game going and the sound is great. There’s a pretty long intro and I get pretty immersed in the sound. One thing that distracts me at the beginning is the heft of this headset. It weighs a bit. The website says it's 1.39 pounds. As I start playing the game (of course I’m KC) the roar of the crowd sounds great. So much so that I have to turn the volume down a bit. The volume control is nicely located behind the left ear. I like the controls, especially the mode and power controls being buttons and the volume controls being wheels. It’s easy to operate without looking and/or removing the headset. I haven’t spent much time with this game, and I score a TD in the first drive by intercepting a pass from Carr and scoring a TD with Jones! Doing that just got me into playing the game and forgetting about the heavy headset. I continued to play and had the Raiders scoreless until the fourth quarter. Being up 30+ points, I went into prevent defense and chewing up the clock, ending the game at 32-7. The weight never became an issue again, but I did find myself hanging it around my neck as I tried to figure out how to use Nvidia’s screen grab. I couldn’t remember what CTRL key to use, so I used Windows Snip tool as my keyboard has a button for that. I’ll post a pic below. As stated, game sound was impressive and with so many headsets not going loud enough, the Stealth 600 was great, and I had to turn it down. My next test is to see how loud I can listen to a song on iTunes at.
I have to switch PC’s and I open iTunes; I choose something old that I know has bass. Run DMC’s It’s Tricky for the first song. I press the mode button and it takes a few tries to figure it out. There four beeps, one for mode 1, 2 for mode two, etc. Mode 2 has bass, but mode three has bass, treble and good vocals. So, for me, mode three for music. I’ll be honest and say I didn’t even bother with mode while playing Madden 22. The sound was awesome right out of the box. I heard the roar of the crowd at Arrowhead and Mahomes calling out the blue lady. I think mode one works great, but I will try the other three next time I play. I try another song, Metallica’s Enter Sandman. It’s got great bass from the intro and it’s loud, but not loud enough (is it ever?). Any louder on a headset might not be great for my ears! The sound on both songs is clear, one being an Mp3 and the other Apple Lossless m4a. If I had one issue with the headset, it’s when nothing is playing, I hear either a low rumble or a hiss. The rumble sounds like the headset it picking up some interference from the PC and the hiss sound like I have tinnitus. But once the game or music starts, I don’t hear either one.
Lastly, something I wish headset manufacturers would do is create a spot to store the dongle. Like wireless mice have. Maybe in the top of the strap or on the side of one of the ear cups. With so many dongles, losing or misplacing one makes it difficult to keep track of which one goes with what. A simple design change would be appreciated from this user. At this price point, I’d say to anyone that the headset is a great buy. The volume gets loud enough for me, and it’s designed very well. My only real complaint is the weight, so know that going in.

These headphones have been great; sound quality is outstanding, very comfortable, always connects without an issue. Battery life is extremely long.
My biggest complaint, and why I didn't give it 5 stars, is because the volume controls for Game Sound and Voice Sound is located on the back of the left ear cup. So when you are sitting in a chair and rest your head on the seat back, you suddenly lose all sound. Same as if you lay down on the couch or rest your head on a pillow while playing you are going to be fighting your volume.
Its so surprising to me that the engineers designed everything else so well but this a big miss. I know I can't be the only person that lays down on the couch, or propped on pillows or a high backed chair while I play.

This headset is pretty dang good. I’ve had it for a quite some time now and it still works perfectly good. Sound quality is great for in game sounds or even music. The battery life is really good as well. It’s never died in me mid game and I only really charge it like once a week when I feel like it. I’ve never had any issues with turtle beach products and this one is definitely in my top 5 so far. And it’s very affordable so that’s a win. Would definitely recommend to people wanting to budget but still get a very good headset for gaming.

Had a pair of these years ago and were really good, but they broke when I went reach for them and they got stuck and when I pulled them it snapped(smh) so had to get another pair! These are great, they have 2 separate switches for tv volume and chat volume, very good for COD games! Battery life is amazing, I go about 2 weeks without having to charge them, way better then wired turtle beach headphones, very satisfied with this purchase!!

This set is so comfortable I honestly forget I'm wearing it sometimes! With glasses, headsets usually fight for ear space and end up pressing the ends of my glasses uncomfortably into my head. Not this set, even after 2 hours. Great, crisp sound quality with no static or interference when mic is in use. The mic can also easily be muted by simply moving it upright into its slot on the side. The voice and game volume dials are easy to adjust finely. I haven't used a full headset in decades, but after researching for months, I found these and I'm glad I gave them a chance.

Good quality sound.. and I love the fact it has the option on the mic itself to turn up the talking volume and the sound from the games up separately making it a lot more easy to balance the sounds.. and I enjoy it because some mics I can’t hear the people talk over the game sound without having to actually go into the settings to change it.. with this one I can do it in game with no problem and fast enough to still enjoy without having to pause the game to do so… also the battery life I enjoy I barely have to charge it.. LOVE IT! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something worth your money!!!

Comfortable on the head and not too hot for long game play wear. the mic is clear and when you flip it up, it auto mutes. I use them daily and the battery lasts pretty long, but the do have pass through charging on a type-c connector, so you can game and charge.

Amazing head set. Bluetooth connects fast. Clear sound coming in. Mic gives a clear speech going out. Love that I can change the volume on my party chat and game independently so I can prioritize what I want to hear. Also very comfortable. Can wear for 2 hours and not have any feelings of fatigue.

Purchased this to play games when needing to be a little more quiet. Very similar to using my surround sound as you can hear the direction of game noises. There are separate volume controls for the game audio and for voice chat. The headset is essentially plug and play and the only extra step is to assign the headset to the controller you’re using so the microphone works. Great battery life and well worth the price

I have been in need of a wireless headset for my Series X and was searching for a wireless pair of headphones. It took sometime and I finally have the right pair. I ended up with the Turtle Beach Stealth 600. So, let’s start this review
:::Initial impression:::
Opening the box, it is basic and has what you need the headset, wireless USB dongle and a thick USB type C charging cable. I like that the headset is white and it is a simple design so far so good. All of the buttons and volume controls are found on the left side and I am left-handed so that is a plus in my book. This headset so far is great out of the box let us move along to the next topic of discussion.
:::General thoughts:::
Putting on the headset I immediately noticed just how comfortable it is with the added padding for the top where it rests on your head. I really appreciated that along with the extra cushion that are in the ear cups. There is plenty of flex and you can stretch the plastic to a certain degree without fear of breaking the headset. While this is made of plastic it isn’t a rigid type that breaks with any kind of movement. The only concern over time is the head band adjustment I do not know if it will hold up over time but I will see in due time.
:::Sound:::
The mic is a small arm that extends and is not detachable like some headsets so there is no way to lose it. I can appreciate that especially if you have kids, we all know how that can work out. Speaking of the mic let’s dive into audio quality the sound is rich and you have different modes to explore. While I toggled it and tested it out, I just stick with the default audio profile.
I tested out a number of different games thanks to Gamepass I tried FPS, RPG, Sports, Indie games and it all sounds amazing. I really appreciated the clarity especially while playing Battlefield 4. No one had trouble hearing me and I was able to hear my party without issue.
I also tested it out using Netflix and while it isn’t a hi fidelity home stereo set you won’t be disappointed it does as advertised. Just remember that this isn’t a substitute for a Dolby Atmos setup.
:::Battery:::
I attempted to plug it in and charge prior to my initial use and it wouldn’t charge. I was surprised that this came fully charged out of the box so there was no need charge the battery. I was able to get roughly 17-19 hours and have charged the headset about twice in two days. Not bad if you ask me. I forgot to track how long it took to fully charge the headset I normally just charge it after a gaming session if need be.
:::Pros & Cons:::
Pros:
- Lag free
- Comfortable
- Long battery life
Cons:
- Every button and volume control are located too closely
:::Closing thoughts:::
The Turtle beach stealth 600 is a pretty good headset with good battery life and is comfortable for long gaming and media sessions. Of course, this is subjective and one size does not fit all some folk have bigger ears, various sized head shapes & whatnot. But for myself this meets my needs and personal tastes. I have never tried the first gen but the second gen headset is good for me.

I got an Xbox Series X when they were released in 2021. At that point, my fiancé took over the Xbox One X. She loves playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and really liked the idea of adding the gaming console to her office. One thing she has been missing though is an easy-to-use set of wireless headphones. This Turtle Beach was just what the doctor ordered.
This model appears to be a one-step upgrade from the previous model that was released in September 2020. This version of the headset has some subtle differences including:
the inclusion of DTS Headphone: X
an increased battery life (to 24 hours)
only being compatible with the Xbox console
increased sensitivity (99.95 decibels adjusted)
a mute function
the amplified audio functionality (Refined ear cup acoustics and expertly tuned 50mm speakers are powerfully driven to give you accurate, immersive audio)
The setup of the headset was super easy. You just plug the USB receiver into a USB-A port on your Xbox (we used the one on the front) and the headset automatically connects to it. The Xbox automatically switches over to using the headset as the output audio source. Out of the box, this headset did have a charge to it, but it’s always a good practice to charge headphones before using them - especially for longer periods of time.
My fiancé fired up RDR2 and played for a while as she got used to the headphones. At first she only had the standard stereo sound mode enabled, which she said was clear and very easy to hear sounds in the environment. She quickly kicked on the Superhuman Hearing sound setting and she said it was a total game changer (no pun intended).
She has played through RDR2 twice now and she is just taking advantage of free play in story mode. There were sounds she said she had never heard before using that sound mode. One of the things she really likes about the sound quality is how enveloped she felt with the enhanced sound from the headphones.
As far as noise isolation goes, the ear cups enclosed her ears completely and even without the sound on, she was able to drown out some of the ambient sound in the room. She said once she started playing the game she couldn’t hear anything around her. This actually bothered her a little because she thought I might sneak up on her while she was playing and she wouldn’t be able to hear me. That said, it really helped her enjoy the game even more than usual.
The headphones were plenty loud. My fiancé loved how she could control the sound directly on the side of the headphones. It was very easy to turn the dial up and down to adjust the volume. She really liked that it was an analog dial instead of a button or a touch-sensitive control.
As far as comfort goes, the headset is lightweight and easy to wear with glasses. The box actually states that they are ‘glasses-friendly.’ My fiancé said that her ears were comfortable and didn’t get hot or sweaty, but the longer she played the more she noticed that the top of her head was hurting right where the headband was resting.
If she moved it around a little she was able to shift the discomfort for a little while, but it eventually came back. She said she started noticing it after about 90 minutes of gameplay. She also said it wasn’t a deal-breaker for her but it was noticeable enough to cause her to stop playing after that long so that the ache didn’t get worse.
Aside from the actual headset’s functionality and use, there was only one issue my fiancé had with these headphones - the instructions. After reading some of the instruction booklet and noticing that the parts didn’t match and after attempting to update the firmware via her MacBook Air (the Turtle Beach Audio Hub is available for Windows and Mac), we discovered that the instructions included were for the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 Max headphones and not the Stealth 600 Gen 2 USB Wireless Amplified Gaming Headset, which is the model she has.
This is something that should be alleviated as soon as possible because the two different models have different hardware options and different setup methods. The front of the literature packet says to upgrade the firmware before using the headphones, but if you visit turtlebeach, the Audio Hub page says, “...Stealth 600 Gen 2 USB for Xbox headsets are ready to go! No firmware update is needed. MacOS compatibility for these models coming soon.” We didn’t see this bit of information until after we had attempted to connect the headset to the hub a few different ways (using different USB cables, different ports, etc.).
When the headset didn’t connect, we went back to the Turtle Beach website and found this information. As you can imagine, the incorrect instruction packet made the setup process frustrating. The only reason that my fiancé got the headset connected is because she plugged the USB receiver into the Xbox just to see what would happen if she did it. It was a last ditch effort after she had been messing with the Audio Hub/firmware issue for a while.
If the correct instructions had been included, this headset would have gotten a higher review. They sound great and they work really well with the Xbox.

I’m sad to say I’m disappointed in this headset! I thought shelling out this much money would mean better quality all around, but I was mistaken. I purchased a different cheaper headset that was not wireless a few months ago but I got tired of needing the wired connection so I decided to upgrade to wireless. The sound quality from these Turtle Beach headphones is great, but the bluetooth connection drops CONSTANTLY. Like every few minutes during gameplay the audio just drops out, sometimes for minutes at a time. I sit less than 6 feet away from my console and it is not blocked by anything or stuck in a cabinet or anything like that. The bluetooth should work even if I sat another 10 feet further away. It has made my gaming experience awful and I will never use them again. The build quality, sound quality, and comfort are all great. They fit nicely and dont hurt my ears while I wear my glasses. But wheb my audio cuts out every 2-3 minutes and then someone kills me in the game because I cant hear anything, you can imagine my frustrations. I had high hopes for these, but I will be going back to my older cheaper headset that is not wireless. What a bummer. Expensive doesn’t always mean good I guess!
