Whenever I pressed something I could hear the headset vibrating in a high pitch tone even at low volume. The recon 70 I have right now was way better.

Please ensure that the headset has been updated to its most recent firmware via the Audio Hub for Windows or MacOS. Doing that should have an affect on your headset's mic sensitivity.
