Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the superb sound quality and comfortable design of the Stealth 700 Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset. Many also praise its wireless functionality and generally good battery life, while some find the price reasonable for the features offered. However, a recurring concern involves inconsistent connection stability and lower-than-desired maximum volume levels.

    Don't ignore the bad reviews

I decided that the poor rating on these must be a fluke and went ahead and purchased them. Build Quality: Look cool, but when held feel very cheap. Sound Quality: Even after updating the firmware and adjusting the settings via my Win 10 comp, not great. The game sounds fine, but not spectacular. The biggest problem I have is that people in Xbox party chat sound like they are talking underwater. Xbox Wireless Technology: Not ready yet. Seems simple - press a wireless connection button just like how you'd pair an xbox controller to your console. The result - it does connect rather easily, but once in a while the sound doesn't come through after connecting. The headphones will also drop their connection every half hour or so; sometimes more often; but only for a few seconds. The real problem here is that after reconnecting, you can no longer talk in party chat, you can only hear people. You must leave the chat and re-enter it for the headset to connect properly. Started driving me nuts. Summary: Don't buy these. I look forward to future iterations of no-base station wireless headphones, but it just isn't working properly now. The only thing that impressed me about these (Xbox Wireless Technology) is still a weakness.

    Great Idea, Terrible Performance

I was sooo looking forward to this headset. The main selling point for me was the ability to connect directly to my Xbox One, just like my controller does. Unfortunately, like many other reviewers I constantly experience the sound cutting in and out, mostly out. Downloaded the Audio Hub and updated the firmware, and while that did seem to alieviate most of the issues for the better part of a day, it was right back to the same problems the next day. What irritates me the most is its Troubleshoot points to my router as being the culprit. In all the years I've owned consoles I have never had a controller experience anywhere near the level of connectivity issues this headset gave me. Unless Turtle Beach finds a fix soon, this hardware is dead in the water. I will ultimately return these and stick with my XP40.

    Absolutely horrible

Wanted something wireless so I had a look at these. The wireless feature is about the best thing and that's where it ends. Horrible build, looks like it will break easy, the mic has zero noise cancelation whatsoever even with the option in the app (when the app works) to turn on some kinda of noise canceling feature. It picked up a screaming 2 year old downstairs on the other side of the house. You'd be better off taking a flamethrower to your money and feeling more accomplished than buying these headphones. Spend the money on the Astros A50 or save up for it, you won't be disappointed.

I got this headset to replace my old one that broke. When I got it I saw an add online for it. After 1 months of usage I dropped the headset from a 1 foot drop and the sync button collapsed. It was a great headset and I loved it my favorite feature was the super human hearing which is a game changer. Although it was a good headset it was really uncomfortable and paying 150$ I expected more from this headset. It also had audio glitches and would stop working. I would recommend not getting this headset there are way better deals for better headsets.

Avoid these. Biught them to hear PubG. I only do wireless and these suck. The connection to the xbox was iffy... the headset sould allows drop out and skip sound. I would have to reconnect it several times while gaming. The most annoying. Im in a march trying to tell my team mates whats happwning and the headset loses connection. The sound was ok. Not bad but not great. If u want a Great wireless Headset for the game price, go with the RiG 800lx.

note that this is only after a few hours. 2 things that are wrong for me, first is the there is the noise coming from the left earphone the 2nd thing is that the headset will not stay connected to my xbox nor to anything else do to (what the trouble shooting page for turtle beach states) is my router/wifi. if i am to shut my laptop the headset works better but for them to work perfectly i have to shut off my router. so all in all this is a bust.

    Headset Issues

I bought this headset for my X Box Series X. Whenever I try to play multiplayer games the headset works intermittently. I have to power it on and off in order to get it to work. Whenever switching between Bluetooth on phone calls and the game, the headset always stops working with the game. Do not waste your money on this headset.

Constant disconnect from xbox one. It would be fully charged and still not stay connected. if you sit more than 5 ft from your console it will disconnect from you. DO NOT BUY if you plan on using for xbox one.

    Should’ve kept the 420x+

So far I have not had a very good experience with this headset. I previously had the stealth 420x+ and they were the greatest headset I’d ever had. I had high hopes for this headset when I turned my old one in. Even after the firmware update I find the audio isn’t where I need it to be for playing games like rainbow six siege where you need to hear even the slightest sounds. I find that it’s very difficult to tell where the sound is coming From even with super human hearing on and audio maxed. When in party chat, it was immediately noticeable that I had a robotic voice. I will be returning these whenever I can to hopefully get a headset that can compete with the 420x+.

    Not worth it

To begin, these headsets feel very cheap for what you pay for it. Feels very fragile, and gets very uncomfortable after an hour use. Sounds quite to me and doesn't get as loud as I would like it. Going back to the Ear Force PX24 sure ill lose the wireless but sounds better, feels better and more bang for your buck.

The volume on these are so low you can’t hear anything. They’re cheaply made as well. Feel like they’d break in a few weeks. These are going back.

Theres a known defect where the power doesnt turn on. Led flashes green then off for good. Turtlebeach did not replace my headset even though i had my headset for only 6 months due to limited warranty being expired. I recommend you get the best buy replacement service OR just skip this lemon altogether. Button layout and sound is pretty bad. Heavy and hot as well. I highly recommend steelseries arctis 9x. Which i bought to replace now thats a headset. Do not make the mistake to buy a subpar product!

    Sound Cuts In and Out

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I couldn't believe the trouble this headset gave me (and others I've talked to) on my Xbox one X. My sound would cut in and out. At times, the sound would cut out completely. I'm not sure if the wireless capability of the headset was the issue, but I returned it because a headset costing $100+ shouldn't have any issues. I traded up for a HyperX CloudX. Not an issue. I'll be avoiding Turtle Beach products in the future. Can't trust the quality.
