Expensive, short, and the app barely works
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a really overpriced set of LEDs. There are some novel effects that you can achieve if you have a lot of these strands, but that would be an incredible amount of money. Brightness - not very bright. I'd say that if installed correctly (so you are getting indirect light), this makes about as much light as a children's night-light. Controls - the app you have to download is terrible. Just about any action you take makes it freeze up/crash. I've been trying to get it to download a firmware update, but that never works (even though you are prompted to do it every time you go into the app). Interface - This requires WiFi? Why? There is no reason for this to need to connect to WiFi. If it didn't, you could still get updates via bluetooth over your phone. If it didn't, it wouldn't require a massive wall-wart to power it. Overall, this is a terrible waste of money. Go with a regular strip of LEDs, and you can get far more, with almost as good of color options (though a bit less versatile), that requires less power and costs about 1/10th of the price. Avoid this pile of ****.

As far as our device's Wi-fi features are concerned, we wanted you to be able to understand how Twinkly works. The wi-fi connection, either the direct one emitted by your Twinkly device or the local one, allows there to be an exchange of information between the app and your Twinkly. This way you will be able to have full control via the application on your device, and be able to use all the features!
