GOOD MAD GUNMAN THRIILER

This epic is about a gunman who terrorizes a crowd of
people at a football game. The all-star cast and
production values are excellent. The storyline is a bit
predictable and formulaic at times, but never boring. It
looks at both sidfes of the story, from the authorites who are to save as many people as possible and the mad sniper who motive seems to be unknown.
The bonus features are the TV-version of the movie
and several trailers.

Two Minute Warning Review

My thoughts on Two Minute Warning are as follows. There are plot spoilers contained within, but I also wanted to review and compare the DVD and Blu-Ray discs of this movie.
I first became aware of this movie watching it on an AMC broadcast. I liked what I saw but had no idea what the title was as I missed the beginning so after some sleuthing to discover the title of the film, I purchased the DVD many years ago. Now I have recently added the Blu-ray to my library.
I have enjoyed seeing this film many times since my initial discovery of it. I hesitate to label this movie a "disaster" film ala Airport as I think it's more of a crime drama/thriller. However, like other “disaster” films of the 70’s, this movie features many notable Hollywood stars. Among them are Charlton Heston, Jack Klugman, Martin Balsam and John Cassavetes.
The story revolves around a lone crazed sniper who terrorizes a football game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Who is he? What are his motives? Who is he wanting to kill at the game?
The opening scene was particularly menacing as we see the sniper calmly and methodically shoot a random bicyclist for target practice. He then calmly dismantles his weapon, pays his motel bill and drives over to the football game. Meanwhile, we are treated to various subplots involving an addicted gambler, a SWAT operation in its final moments of stopping an unrelated crime and other assorted characters going about their daily business.
The sniper is eventually discovered at the game via closed circuit TV, SWAT is called along with the police and a waiting game commences as they both try to decide the best course of action on how to handle the situation. When the two minute warning sounds, the sniper goes to work dispatching random victims and SWAT officers that have been strategically placed around the coliseum as the football game progressed. Chaos erupts as the crowd panics while fleeing the carnage developing around them. The movie concludes with the sniper finally being eliminated in a close quarters gun battle.
My thoughts on the DVD vs. the Blu-ray of Two Minute Warning are as follows:
I was disappointed with the DVD of this movie. The film is presented in its correct 2:35:1 ratio but it's not enhanced for widescreen TV's. The audio was in Dolby 2.0 and while it was at an acceptable volume, I couldn't help but wish for remixed surround sound, particularly when the sniper began his deadly spree at the football game. It's worth noting that the picture itself looked good in spite of the lack of anamorphic enhancement. There were no extras worth mentioning except for an option to watch the trailer for the movie.
In comparison, I think the Blu-ray is a big improvement over the DVD of this film. It has a much-improved anamorphic picture and features a good DTS-HD 2.0 mix but again I wish there could have been an inclusion of at least a 5.1 mix. An interview with director Larry Peerce is included along with still pictures and the theatrical trailer.
I was quite surprised to see that Shout! Factory has included the TV broadcast version of the movie in their special features section as an additional bonus. I will not go into many specifics, but I will say it sanitizes the movie quite a bit while adding a nonsensical story change. The TV broadcast version is presented in a 4:3 standard definition picture with a Dolby 2.0 mix. Of the two versions, I think the theatrical version is vastly superior over its TV counterpart.
To summarize, I think the Blu-ray disc of Two Minute Warning is probably the best version we’re going to be able to get for this movie. I advise purchasing it quickly as it appears to be sold out on many websites including Best Buy so hopefully you won’t miss out on adding it to your library.

I think that "Two-Minute Warning" was one of the greatest classic mystery/suspense films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite classic mystery/suspense films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "Two-Minute Warning" had an amazing cast with an original and suspenseful storyline including a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, drama, mystery and suspense.

It's a little bit like an '80s Disaster Movie with lots of well-known stars, but it's a Thriller about a sniper at the S***r Bowl. Terrific work from Charleton Heston and John Cassavettes. Includes, -as an extra, -the TV version, which changes the plot completely. The Movie version is terrific and the TV version I hilariously bad.

Very underrated disaster film. If you are into Airport, Earthquake or disaster films in general you will have a hoot with this one. Picture quality is great and audio quality is as good as any 70s genre film on bluray.
Your collection is not complete without this baby.

This is a older movie that I originally saw in a movie theater and was delighted when I was able to purchase it from BestBuy at a good price so my wife, who has not seen it, can watch it anytime we want.
