Wonderful Scores, Sloppy Presentation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ennio Morricone's scores for both "Two Mules for Sister Sara" and Terrence Malick's "Days of Heaven" couldn't be any different in terms of style, but here they are on the same album. And you couldn't ask for a more thrilling, exciting and melodic compilation. Having said that, the one thing that keeps me from being fully supportive of this album is the presentation of the tracks for the "Sister Sara" portion of the album. For the first ten tracks, each is not properly divided and the first two seconds of the subsequent track is attached to the previous. That gets a little tiresome when listening to one select track and missing the establish notes; more so because the final one is presented in its entirety rather than strangely spliced. Still, for the most part, I'd recommend getting this album just to own two underrated and hard to track down Western/philosophical scores.
