Not having a Samsung phone doesn't mean you can't get a good VR experience. This VR headset is quite capable although getting it setup correctly can be difficult.
The first issues is you need to set the device up correctly in the software. Unfortunately the manufacturer does not provide the needed QR code, even on their web site. You have to search one of the sites out there that have all the listings.
I have a problem in that my phone is slightly too big and I have a hard time centering the phone so that I don't get a white line in my field of view.
The magnetic switch is awkward and doesn't seem to work with a few VR apps I've tried. However, it doesn't prevent one from using the apps still.
So take some time to get the software setup correctly, adjust the straps and have fun. The image quality can be quite amazing with the proper app and content.

Great VR for the price. Comes with a case and love the earbuds. It was confusing at first on how to select items, but once we figured it out my husband loved it. Comfortable to wear and even if you have glasses or have trouble seeing 3D because of a sight problem this device still works.

Bought this to check out what this mobile vR thing was all about. For the price, it works really well! Was pleasantly surprised at how cool some of the content is and the built in earbuds are a nice touch! Just scratching the surface of VR but a nice first step with this product.

I could have bought something for a bit more money but this headset actually proves itself to be great at a reasonable price. The fit is great and the adjustments give it a solid feel. I plan on buying another one as a Christmas present for a family member.

Worked good as far as the vision when watching... Not the best quality straps fall off 75% of the time... IPhone 7 plus fits perfect without any issues...

I've tried multiple VR's. This one seems much lighter and has adjustments that are simple to use. Integrated headphones are a major plus!

The hardware is ok, but not outstanding. The games that the manufacturer links you to aren't developed by them, and loaded with ads.

This VR goggle works well. It works best with no phone case. Note, go ahead and get a VR copntroller because of lot of apps don't work with the magnet controller or the plug in. If your phone is in a case, it's going to hit the buttons. You can cut the plastic edges from the goggles for a better fit. Works with iPhone 7Plus out of the box best without case. Also works with Motorola Android. App quality will vary.

When I saw this headset I thought it had to be too good to be true. The sliding magnet on the side to simulate a screen tap, built in retracting headphones with volume controls, and CARDBOARD ready.
Unfortunately, I was right. The magnet fell off first day and its counterpart inside has been rattling around since. Couldn't get it back in position even with a more powerful magnet. The volume buttons dont work on all applications, which sucks when your playing online and an add loads midgame that is 10X the games volume.
A special warning to Motorola Droid Turbo 2 owners, the audio cord is on the right side of the headset. This means your power/volume buttons will be pressing right into the ledge the phone is meant to rest on. Also, some VR apps will be SURE that your phone is upside down and flip the screen on you, making you choose between rotating it 180
and not hearing anything, or leaving it having sound but the picture be upside down.
Lastly, CARDBOARD ready. Supposedly... except when you download and open cardboard the first thing it asks you is to scan the headsets Cardboard QR (like normal QR, but with l a little pair of glasses in middle) code to configure. Checked all the instructions, warranty, disclaimer, and every inch of the box but no QR code. No, wait... there was a "QR" but not a "cardboard QR". Spent a while searching online before I found it.

Not a fan on the straps, they seem to slip off alot then its 5 min to get them hooked back into the goggles, also the headphone jack could be a little longer or the cover could be notched so it doesnt hit the headphone jack when closing front, then phone is misaligned and have to open it and try to align it.

These are a pretty decent VR headset. They offer some very unique features that other ones don't have like the built in headphones. I would recommend these to a friend but would recommend the Gear VR for Samsung phone owners over these.

The headset does not fit every phone well. It seems a little off center and takes some moving to adjust the position. Does not hold the phone with a case. Overall it is a new toy that takes time to set up and use, but if you are a geek it is a nice starter headset.

This is a fun toy. I've only used it a little, but my kids and my wife love it. Many of the games also require a controller, so make sure you pick one up when you purchase this. The magnetic switch is a little iffy so 4-stars instead of 5.

Lots of build up from commercials and they’re not very exciting
