After a lengthy comparison between the Bose Sound Link Mini and the UE Boom, the decision came down the the UE Boom. With the sale price tag being several dollars less than the comparable Bose product, the choice was easy. This little sound machine outperformed the Bose in several aspects. The packaging is sleek and contemporary. It made for a fun little unboxing. The product has a sound range that, in my opinion, out did the Bose SLM. I knew my primary use would be an equal marriage of outdoor and indoor use. While the Bose may have had a slight edge in a small room environment, the UE Boom was the clear leader in outdoor sound and the ability to carry and project in all directions. The Boom's 360 degree design is a large contributor to this factor. I've read several reviews of the battery life not lasting, but I've had great success with a long batter life. However, I'm rarely (if ever) using the product at maximum volume. So, if your intention is to have this thing cranking full blast, I think you can expect a much shorter battery life. All around, this product scores top marks with me. Price, Quality, Packaging, Durability, Waterproof, Sound, Clarity, Design, Battery, etc. I'd absolutely recommend this product and already have to several friends. A couple neat little bonus features: - The iPhone integrated app - The ability to pair multiple Boom speakers together to create a "surround sound" effect

This is the best portable Bluetooth speaker you can buy for under $200. The best sound, battery, and design I've experienced. It's even water resistant. Download the app for easy customization. Connect to your computer for firmware updates. Even the charger is high quality. This speaker can also be linked other UE Booms or MegaBooms. I have charged it once since Christmas and use it every day. The battery life is extraordinary. Don't buy the Pill or Jambox. UE should be your next speaker.

This is a great speaker. The sound quality is great, including base. The battery life is exceptionally awesome. Rarely do I have to charge it and can leave it on over night. It's very durable and sturdy. I can take it to the beach (water and sand resistant) and if I drop it, it's not going to break (and I have dropped it on a hard surface). Simple to use, simple buttons, blue tooth easily connects. Makes fun noises turning on and off. Sound from all sides. Great buy, would recommend.

I checked out quite a few blue tooth speakers and this one stood out to me. There were others that may have had only a slightly better sound quality but were bulkier or a bit larger than what I wanted for portability. Some of the others were much more expensive and didn't seem as durable. It connects with my device almost instantly and has pretty good range. It does have issues with obstruction to the signal if your transmitting device is skirting the edge of it's range but that's usually an easy fix. It has a great battery time and recharges fairly quickly.

I sampled all the Bluetooth speakers in stock at my local store and this one had the fullest sound and functionality for the price and size. It's water resistant so you can use it pretty much anywhere, and the round shape fits easily into a cup holder or backpack bottle holder. It's small enough to be portable, but large enough to be sturdy and project a full sound. It has a long battery life and easily connected to our phones and iPads. I use it daily and love it.

I was looking for a small but good sound speaker, I also on a jawbone ( small, not the mini nor the big) and it is very good but I need it something more powerful yet still small to carry around. So one day a friend of mine showed to me this little jewel and loved I tried for a few days and was sold on it. When connected to my iPhone it has the 50 feet range that the product says (I actually measured) even when I have my phone on my back pocket and walk around stays connected with walls between devices, if I walk out then the reception breaks a little ( If I wonder further that the 40-50 range) but as soon as I walk in, it connects again. What I noticed is that if connected to my Mac the connection is not as good, if I move the speaker more than 25 feet away the connection breaks, don't know why? But the music soundscway better when comes from Mac, I can hear instruments and lows and highs than I don't when connected to phone. I use the speaker on all of my Bluetooth devices and never have had a problem with the connection. Before buying i went to Best Buy and tried all the portable speakers they had on site I specialty compare this speaker with the more expensive Bose and discovered that if were to buy a Bose I would be paying just for the name because the sound was quite disappointing for a Bose. Have nothing against Bose their high end speakers are awesome and their $250 and up are much better that those over priced Beats. Anyway bottom line the UE Boom is an excellent small speaker and the best part of it is than in my case I waited until it was on sale and used some certificates that I had so I ended getting it for mere 165!!

This speaker is awesome. The clarity is incredible! The base is outstanding and this little guy gets really loud. The battery life is very impressive...the longest out there. I only wish this speaker had controls such as next/previous track and pause/play. Right now, it only has volume buttons. But, in terms and sound and volume, it can't be beat.

It pairs great and provides hours of music!! It is a slender speaker that can be placed in the bottle holder on your bike if you want to travel with music!

If you are even remotely considering buying a Bluetooth speaker, buy this speaker. Is it pricey? Yes, but I guarantee you won't regret it. These things are awesome! I bought two and paired them together for awesome sound. I considered the Megaboom but I couldn't find $100 worth of difference between that and the regular boom. It went a little louder and its water proof so it could, in theory, float around your pool. I don't know about you but i'm not risking $300 to test how long it will float around my pool. The boom is water resistant, which is really all you should need. It is plenty loud in the backyard, in the house or even at the beach with waves crashing in the background. The battery also lasts forever, the company quotes 15 hours but I exceed that on a regular basis. I've tried all three products in this line-up (Mini Boom, Boom, Megaboom) and I think the best value is definitely the Boom. Regardless of which one you buy, I doubt you'll regret it. Like the title says, "Buy it, Buy it, Buy it!"

Initially started out to buy 1 waterproof speaker as my son's Christmas gift. After hearing it in the store, and then running into 2 other people that had first hand experience with the speaker at outdoor parties, I ended buying one for each of my kids and then one for myself. The speaker is surprisingly heavy for its size. It immediately paired with my Mac computer, my son in laws iPhone, and my daughters iPod. I also have an old iPod that did not have bluetooth and it worked excellently using the port for a hard wire connection. Sound is excellent. My son is a music addict when outside and was less than enthused when he opened his gift. 10 minutes later he was in total awe that this speaker put out so much quality sound, even at a high volume. I know that some have commented that at maximum volume there is a little distortion. There is just the slightest hint of it, but its at a volume that I would not have even thought to play the speaker at. This speaker comfortably plays a loud volume for a typical patio party. If you are looking to fill an entire backyard, a second speaker might be necessary. The only thing this speaker does not crank out is base, but for most users, this will not be a factor.

I bought this to take on a trip to South Beach and I have been really impressed. It pairs easily with all my devices (Windows, Android and IOS), the sound is amazing and most important to me it's loud. The battery life is great and I love the 360 sound - I've tried all the high end Bluetooth portable speakers and this is far and away the best.

This review is for Ultimate Ears BOOM Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Black. I Went to Best Buy and listen to the Bose Soundlink Mini, the UE Boom, Beats Pill, and the JBL Flip. Quickly narrowed it down to the Bose Soundlink Mini and the UE Boom. The UE Boom's bass is just a tad under the Bose Soundlink Mini, but the UE Boom's volume and overall clarity was much better in my opinion. The 360 degree listening area of the UE Boom and its 15 hour battery life versus 7 for the Bose Soundlink Mini was ultimately what sold me. Oh, not to mention the UE Boom has an app with an equalizer that can do minor adjustments and you can see battery percentage from your phone or hear it by holding down both the volume up and down buttons on the unit. Nice to know UE Boom will do software updates with the app that you can then adjust your speaker. I feel bad for anyone that bought the Bose Soundlink Mini and didn't test out the UE Boom first. If you're debating, try them both out and you will go with the UE Boom hands down. I would like to Thank Ms. Britney who work at (Mid River Mall) whose customer focus was exceptional. She showed professionalism, knowledge of the products.

Has really good sound from a small speaker. Purchased for my child so that she could have a portable speaker. She really loves it. Was easy to set up and pair with her IPhone. Like that you can adjust the volume and control the functions with the phone. Battery seems to last a long time after charging.

I shopped for about a month for a good bluetooth speaker. I was looking for durability coupled with great sound quality. This speaker delivers those is spades. I use it out by the pool and at the ranch. The 15 hour battery life is awesome. The sound quality is amazing for such a small speaker. It is splash/waterproof and can handle being outside. Super easy to use. Bluetooth pairing is super simple and the range is easily as advertised or better. The app that you can download to your phone or ipad is fantastic. Allows you to change the sound to fit the type of music or the room that you are in. The ability to pair two speakers to one device is great too. Overall, a great purchase.

Now, no matter where you are, you can have really nice sound. This little UE Boom speaker is well thought out. From the heavy solid feel, the tower shape, and the long battery life, you can not only feel the quality, you a hear it. No, it's not the sound of your home system, but there is a nice mix of bass and treble and much more sound than your mobile devices. There is no buzz on unwanted sounds when played low or booming loud. I like the tower shape. It seems to sit solidly on a table or any flat surface. It also seems to send out a sound in all directions. It comes in a very protective case that cleverly contains the charger and cord, (which are a trendy yellow with a flexible flat cord.) I've not had the speaker a long time, and i have not dropped it, nor it has not been rained on, so I cannot speak to those issues. I am very satisfied with my purchase, and look forward to hearing the sounds for years to come.

Bought my mom one of these after extensive research into Bluetooth speakers, I chose this one because my mother isn't the friendliest to electronics and this thing can survive. Hearing it on display in a noisy best buy is one thing, but once you take it home you REALLY see how this thing shines. Once my mother opened it, I was overwhelmingly impressed by its clarity and overall loudness. The sound quality is unrivaled and it's 360 design really works wonders with applying sound to all areas of the room. She uses it every day wherever she goes. She even got tired of my step-father borrowing it and bought him his own. Which is even better cause you can pair these things for double the sound! I'm glad I waited to buy my own because the different designs are awesome and the camo print is eye-turning. I use mine all day every day (it has a 15 hour battery) and every friend that sees it wants one of their own.

I bought this speaker on a Black Friday special to use as a portable speaker in various rooms and in the garage when working outside. It puts out a decent amount of volume with good base. Easy to use and so far it pairs every time I use it with my phone. I have not tried to run the battery down all the way, but it can easily handle at least a few hours of non-stop music.

It looks cool, produces great audio and is very resilient. It was super easy to setup and has unreal battery life. I have the black/red version and it looks like it did on the day I bought it. It has been the sound system for two parties and everyone raved about how clear the music was and surprised they were that such loud sound came out of a small speaker. It has survived countless play times for my 2 year old (who likes it even more than I do). Overall it is worth every penny and I recommend it to everyone that asks or mentions Bluetooth speakers.
