All around a great sounding speaker but definitely not ideal for those who love lots of bass. Very rugged so good for if you plan on taking it outdoors or near the pool or ocean as it also floats, although I would be wary of dropping it in salt water. The UE partyup feature is very nice if you have other UE speakers. I pair it up with my Hyperboom and it brings more clarity to the mids and highs. Overall worth the price if you have other UE speakers and want the connectivity but if you are looking at just this speaker then I would say there are better sounding options for the price.

Ultimate ears is a new to me brand, I've always stayed with JBL or other more popular brands. This came highly recommended by my marketing team at work and I can see why. Great equalizer, clear, crisp sound, incredibly loud, no muffling, the battery life is well over 20hrs, and you can be a significant distance away with your phone without Bluetooth disconnecting. I'm impressed!

THE MEGABOOM 3 IS A WONDWERFUL DEVICE. Though it is lacking a a usb c port it does slap around some major bass. it's waterproof and easy the carry. my only gripe is that when you hit the maximum of the volume it make s a terrible sound which I presume is the maximum indicator. but . common there's a lot of other wonderful sound they could have chosen. Right>?

Bought this for the wife…. She loves it and I must admit the quality of sound in this thing is pretty amazing. We replaced a bigger portable speaker with this one and this one is almost have the size and pack a solid punch. The bass from this things isn’t overwhelming but quite noticeable. Again extremely happy with the sound from this unit.

These are the only way to go for portable Bluetooth speakers. I am personally a Bose fan, and so is my family, but I have had my Megaboom for a few years now and it is the best. Waterproof for the beach pool and any other adventure and just ready to go with you anywhere. The sound quality is also awesome and nice and loud with a good balanced bass. This recent one was for my dad because he bought Bose and wasn't happy with it, I had to get him to trust me that something other than Bose could really compete in the audio quality and he did and he absolutely loves it.

I purchased this speaker to put in my car, I have an older car and I don’t know how much time is left for it so I didn’t want to spend the money to replace the speakers and radio. This speaker work better than I thought it would, it fit in my cup holder and sounds great. I can turn it off and on and it starts we’re i left off which is nice. The only down side is that the speaker uses micro-usb, its 2019 and if your going to pay $80+ on a device it should come with usb-c. You don’t have to worry about that two much because I have been using it on and off for about 2 weeks, I still haven’t had to charge it. This speaker is a great investment if you want a water resistant speaker that sounds great.

Great sound, suprisingly immersive and great bass for the size. The speaker is very reliable (I returned two Sonos Roams that lost ability to charge before buying the UE). Never drops BT connection and connects instantly. It appears to be very waterproof as I primarily use it in the shower and have had it for several months now with no issues. Thinking about getting a pair for the backyard next.

This speaker is pretty powerful for its size and sounds great! I use it on the bass boost mode and it thumps without drowning out the vocals. Its battery lasts for the better part of the day and charges from almost dead to full in less than an hour in my experience. For the price its pretty impressive and still very portable. I put a D clip on it and I hang it from tents and backpacks.

As just a speaker you'd set down on the counter while doing chores or in the shower it'd be worth 5 stars. BUT I specifically bought this speaker with the intention of using the sync mode. I even convinced a good friend of mine to buy one also. We were planning on taking them along on our trips to the river for tubing. First the good: I haven't dropped it yet or anything so I can't speak about how rugged it is. It does feel like it has solid build quality though. It floats in water and can be completely submerged for a short time with no problems. Battery time has been good for me, 6 hrs at max volume per use on a full charge. And the app was straight-forward. As far as sound quality goes, it sounds as good as what you'd except it to sound like for the price but the bass is nothing to write home about. Volume is a little louder than I expected Now the bad: The sync feature was extremely lacking in terms of connectivity. Any distance greater than about 5 feet made at least one of the speakers start crackling or cutting out completely. This was no good considering the distance between 2 people each holding a speaker is about 3 feet from the getgo while sitting on the float tubes. While floating down the river there's a lot of variation in how the tubes are pulling each other so your physical proximity from the next person is constantly changing meaning bad connection in this case. Naturally our goal of putting each speaker on opposite ends of our group was out of the question. After deciding to only use one, we quickly discovered that if there's any interference at all and the speaker loses signal quality, we would have to restart it completely by cycling power. This was despite the speaker still showing as connected on the connected phone and in the app. For context, you're sitting in a tube floating down the river with your phone in a pouch hanging off a lanyard. Every now and again your phone takes a small dip under water for whatever reason and this constantly cut the connection. This is not an issue we have ever had with any other speaker including a homemade one with a very cheap bluetooth receiver. This review applies to both the speakers we had (my friend's and mine). They behaved exactly the same so I'm not sure if they were part of the same batch and maybe defective or something like that but I'm returning mine for sure. He may also not sure yet. Again, good as just a normal speaker as stated in the intro

An incredible amount of bass in a small form factor. All you need is one to fill a big room with sound and if you ever needed more, the app allows you to daisy-chain other speakers of this generation. Well worth the purchase and have never had any issues with this and other Ultimate Ears products.

Went to Best Buy and sampled every Bluetooth Speaker they had. Found the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 to be superior in sound quality then the rest. The Megaboom has a perfect blend of trebile and bass that can be adjusted through your personal equalizer for different types of music. The speaker is plenty for my mid-sized apartment. Set up was easy and seamless. Download the UE App and control your speaker right from your phone. In addition the speaker is waterproof, so don’t worry about bringing it outside or in the shower area. Found it much better than several recommended top picks in the category. A great find with a great design at a great price for the quality you get.

    Excellent Speakers for UTV/Side-By-Side

I was looking for an alternative speaker system for our Can-Am X3 UTV. A few things that were really important to me: 1. I did not want to deal with the hassles of wiring in a stereo and speakers. -These speakers were perfect for this point. Party Up mode pairs all the speakers together, run the music right from the phone, and NO WIRING! 2. Looking for something less expensive than standard marine/UTV speakers -I bought 3 of these for $139 each (down to $125 now) for a total of $450. That's about half the cost of where audio systems for a UTV start. 3. Loud enough to be heard over a screaming UTV engine -These things get loud. Modern, high performance UTV engines are really loud and it can be hard to hear music over them. These delivered clear, crisp sound that could easily be heard over the engine without being painful on the ears. I will make an extra comment that I think this is largely due to the fact that we have 3 speakers instead of just one. Having the speakers positioned throughout the inside of the UTV helps to fill it with sound and enhances the music quality. We only had to turn the volume halfway to comfortably heard the speakers. 4. Portable (outdoor) speakers with flexible mounting options -We also use these speakers in our home gym and will also take them on other outdoor activities. These got covered in dust and still sounded great. Simply held them under a running sink and they look brand new. With a few velcro straps, it's also easy to find different places to mount them as the exterior material is very durable and showed no signs of wearing after 12 hours of high speed, off-road driving. Bonus item: the battery life is exceptional. Again, 12 hours of use over two days of off-road driving and the batteries in all three speakers are at ~40%. Con: if you have a lot of other bluetooth or wireless devices around, the phone app seems to pick those up as well and think they are UE speakers when you try to sync them for party mode. I have to find an area in my house free of other devices so that the app only picks up the 3 UE speakers. Also, other devices seem to cause a lot of interference and static noise. I have only experiences this in my home, never out on the trails but it is annoying when one speaker seems to have a weak bluetooth connection and is picking up static. Minus 1 star for these.

Hi Greg, glad to see you're getting so many uses from your Megaboom 3 speaker! Like you mentioned, having the speakers near a bunch of other devices can interfere with the Party Up mode. But also long as you keep the speakers updated with the latest firmware from the Boom app, that will make sure it has the strongest signal. Continue to enjoy and happy listening!

This is my second Megaboom 3 and I love it! The range is really good depending on the device used. The battery seems to last more than I've ever needed on moderate volume. There isn't a massive amount of bass but plenty to enjoy on the porch, shower, wherever. My other one has seen rain, heavy dust, fallen off tables and still going strong. I like the ability to charge from a base too!
