This is my first Bluetooth speaker, so I did not know 100 % what I was getting into sound wise. I have not been disappointed at all, especially that it was only $100.00 at the time I received it. The speaker arrived with some juice in it's batteries, but I decided to plug it in, and let it fully charge up which took about 4 1/2 hours. On a full charge it's supposed to last about 10 hours. The box that the speaker comes in was just barely big enough to enclose the speaker and it's included 2' long USB charging cable. My USB cable was yellow to match the speakers all grey color with yellow + and - buttons for the audio controls and yellow cord to hang it from various items. I liked that the USB was yellow as it make's it very easy to see which cable you need without looking closely at the connectors. Overall the sound is 4 out of 5 stars. While the highs, and mids are there, it does lack some in the bass department. It paired very quickly to my 4th generation iPod and to my Moto G3 phone. I streamed an FM station from my phone to the Wonderboom for roughly 4 hours as I waxed my F150 and girlfriends Honda CRV. The phone was in the shade of the garage while the Wonderboom was on a small ice chest to act as a platform while I moved it all over while waxing the vehicles. The furthest the Wonderboom got from my phone was 80 to 85 feet and never once did it loose the connection. And while most of the time it was in plain site of my phone, there were many times it was out of site and behind my truck for quite some time, but the signal came through loud and clear. Speaking of loud, I did have the Wonderdooms loudness up to maybe 65 % and did not notice any distortion. The volume for the Wonderboom can be controlled directly on the speaker using the + and - buttons or from your device like an Ipod, phone, etc. The box that the Wonderboom comes in has a picture of the speaker on the box and it's the same size as the speaker itself. So if you're in the store wondering how big or small the speaker is, just look the the picture on the box. I have also included a photo of the speaker next to a 12 ounce can of soda to also give you and idea on the speakers size. The Wonderboom claims that it's waterproof and shockproof, but I'll hopefully not have to find out if that's true. Overall, I've given the Wonderboom 4 out of 5 stars. Taking off 1 star for it's less than robust bass. But I'd still highly recommend the Wonderboom for it's price and relative good audio.

This is a great little speaker. It's fairly small, but the volume and sound quality was surprisingly good. Connecting the speaker to a Bluetooth compatible device is easy. I was able to connect my iPhone 7 plus via Bluetooth seamlessly, and the speaker connected to my phone automatically after I turned the speaker on again. I could place my phone about 30 feet away from the speaker before I would lose connection. I could hear the music clearly every where in a full size basketball court. I like how the music could be heard 360 degrees unlike front facing speakers. I've used it in the shower and not had any issues with it getting wet, I still need to test it out in a pool or other larger area of water to see how it does. Controlling the music is easy. Tap the UE button once to play or hit pause. Press again to resume the track. Tap it twice to skip to the next song. Long press it to sync with another nearby Wonderboom speaker. Press again to resume the track. You can push both volume buttons at the same time and it gives you an audio tone to tell you it is it “high” charge which is a series of notes of increasing pitch, “medium” charge which is a couple of tones, and “low” which is a series of decreasing pitch notes. A few things I didn't care for, the battery life is not the greatest, only giving me about 3 hours max, compared to other similar speakers I've had that easily go for twice as long before dying on me. You cannot tell the battery level visually. The directions said 2.8 hours, so I left it 3 hours it was still giving me the “medium tone" After five hours I got the “high” charge. I am not a fan of this sort of battery indicator. I did not like the recessed connection for the USB connection, I assume that the design is necessary for the waterproof feature, but it's very hard to see which way your cord needs to be turned to insert it, so if you get this you may want to pick up one of the USB cables that is able to be inserter either way (I really wish companies would include that kind of cable in fact, particularly when they have a design like this where it's especially hard to get it inserted). It's also fairly hard to see the button on the top for turning it on, although you can find it by feeling around a bit. If having a waterproof speaker is the most important thing to you, this one would certainly be a good contender as well.

It's called the Wonderboom. The name alone would cause one to think that there is an explosion of sound, or maybe a booming bass. A lot to ask from such a compact device. I have to say, upon just picking up the box for the Wonderboom, I was a little surprised. It is lightweight. I was a tad worried about the quality of the device because it didn't feel substantial just holding the box. Once opened, I could see and feel the quality materials that make up the device. It has very solid construction with a seemingly durable exterior. Nothing about the device looks or feels cheap. The device only has 4 buttons on it, and I like that. All of the buttons are sturdy with a great balance of ease and resistance - they feel easy to use but durable. All in all, this thing is well built, premium product. The Wonderboom is very simple to setup with your device. As with most Bluetooth devices, as soon as you power it on, it's in pairing mode. It took less that 30 seconds to have this thing paired and playing, and that was with a Windows Phone. One thing I noticed when initially playing music through the device was the sensitivity with the gain volume (the volume set on the source device - phone, tablet). You have to be a bit careful because you can get a little distortion if you pass in too much volume. I really like this because it gives an accurate depiction of what happens when playing amplified audio. The volume buttons on the Wonderboom are located in a somewhat peculiar place - on the speaker mesh. I really like the choice here, as it is very easy to control the volume quickly and accurately. I didn't even think about the small buttons on other devices until using this. Now, the smaller buttons are an inconvenience in my opinion. Well, how does it sound? It's Ultimate Ears, and if you know anything about their products, you would expect a quality sound... And they don't disappoint here. The sound quality is audiophile worthy. The clarity is outstanding - detailed, crisp, and focused. You will hear all the subtle nuances in whatever you are playing. If you're looking for a lot of bass, this may not deliver, but if you are looking for an accurate, vibrant sound, it does an awesome job. Don't get me wrong, the sound is not tinny. It is full and rich with highs and lows, it just doesn't deliver booming bass. Believe me, you will enjoy the sound - it's clarity is that good. The volume is also good, adequate for open, single floor gatherings or outdoor entertainment in a small backyard. The 360 degree sound is second to none. No matter how you twist it, you get the same stellar sound at a consistent volume. The Bluetooth range is fantastic. I practically walked at least 50-60 feet from the Wonderboom and had absolutely no loss in signal or quality. This is good for the movers and shakers that play music while doing so. You can clean your whole house and take out the trash, with your phone on you, while your music plays. Just great range. All in all, you can't go wrong with this device. I count it among the best in Bluetooth speakers. It's sound quality is spectacular, and it will easily fill your environment with entertaining sound.

I have to say when opened the box I was puzzled when I saw the cute little "toy" inside. I had to wrestle with my dog who was trying to steal it. She thought it was a ball to play with. It is about the size of a softball, but also pretty heavy and actually cute. I had to rotate it several times to see anything to make it function. There is a small opening on the side near the bottom to attach the included USB. I finally found a small "bump" on top with a small "hash mark" that turns it on/off. How in the world can I pair this thing, I wondered. I turned it on and went to my iPad and looked in "settings" Bluetooth. There it was. I touched "wonderboom" and almost dropped the iPad because the wonderboom made a loud noise. That was it. I went to my music and thought the Wonder boom was so small that I would need to crank up the volume. That was another mistake. This tiny little ball makes a HUGE sound. I absolutely love it. I can carry it easily to any room in my house and outside, leaving my iPad safely inside on a table. The sound is amazing! This is way better than the Sony surround sound Bluetooth on my home theatre, because not only does it sound great, it is soooo portable. This is going to be great for working outside listening to my music and can't wait to try it at the pool parties. If you like to protect those expensive devices that hold your music, this is a great little gadget!

Packing- Not much inside the box. Just the speaker, the USB cord, and a safety compliance small brochure. I think this should include instructions of the features and a plug for the wall because a USB port is not always available. Appearance- I don't mind the look because there is great sound coming out the compact speaker. The + sign over the - sign looks like a cross. It's something that I noticed but I hope it don't bother most people. I really like the rubber feel and the stretchy cord to hang it. Performance- Like I mentioned it sounds great to me and loud if you want. If you sync 2 wonderboom together I think this will sound even better. I played a great amount of music but I cannot tell where my battery level is. Having a battery indicator will be helpful so I can know to charge before it runs out. The waterproofing so far is working great. Now I can have the speaker in the shower instead of having it outside. Cons- I cannot answer calls on this and the music do not resume playing after missing a phone call. I tried several times and I can't get it to work like my other speaker. No wall plug come with it for wall outlets. I do like this Bluetooth speaker but I think it's priced a little high but if people give it a try they will most likely enjoy it. This is just a waterproof speaker with no added features that I can use.

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom sounds great and is very well designed. The ergonomics are excellent and simple, this includes the controls and also how to set it up. The unit is about 4 inches high and 3.5 inches in diameter. It has rechargeable lithium ion batteries that you can charge via a USB connection on your personal computer. It comes with the charging cord. I prefer online manuals which I don't lose and you will need to go online to review the user manual. Just go here (http://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/wonderboom/fireball/support) and you will find excellent installation instructions. I liked that I could pair it with up to 8 devices via Bluetooth which is automatic for the first device and then you do have a few steps to follow for any additional devices. I paired it with my phone and also with my Windows 10 PC easily. The real treat is the fantastic sound. Playing songs either from my phone or the PC resulted in remarkably strong and clear sounds that totally changed the listening experience. I do see that this brand has 4 different models of waterproof Bluetooth speakers and I do plan to buy one of the larger ones. Even though someone did a very intuitive design of the controls, it is a good idea to run through the functions at the link I mentioned above. For example if you hold the up/down volume controls (the PLUS and MINUS buttons) at the same time, you can get a quick sound effect that tells you if the charge is low, okay, or high. One nice feature is the loop at the top of the device which can be used to hang the unit on a hook or nail on your front porch for example. One feature that is very obvious is the 360 degree sound - nice. Warranty information is a bit sketchy, it just says to go look it up on the original product package which I threw out. The length of the warranty is also supposed to be found at www.logitech.com but I could not find it. Also this is a Logitech product but you can't register it at the Logitech support site, although they do have other wireless speakers. All told at this price point (under $100) this little speaker is rugged, has beautiful sound and is a great deal.

Very big sound from a very nice and compact speaker. The 360 degree sound field is also very cool, meaning you can set the speaker in the middle of where you are and sound simply envelopes the area. That’s something that in a speaker this small is worth it. The sound is big, but depending on your source, can also sound flat and slightly high mid to treble heavy. If you’re using a flat source with no EQ, the sound is good, but can have that high mid to treble heavy sound, depending on type of music. Any music that is Bass heavy, if you have a source that can EQ, you can get the most out of the speaker, and the lows for a speaker this size are very good, just keep your expectations in check. It also gets pretty loud, so very good for average size rooms, and you can also connect two of them together to create a stereo setup, and really fill up large areas. The controls on top and front are super easy, and the speaker feels solid and well built. It’s also waterproof, which is a huge plus if you’ll be around water environments. No worries about taking to the pool or the beach. Heck, even using as a shower speaker is sort of nice. Charging is with a micro USB connection, and it seems to take a charge very quickly. I’ve been using it pretty regularly as a desktop speaker while I work, and it’s amazing, and haven’t needed a recharge yet. If you have a need for a speaker of this type and this size, definitely give it a go!

Good Sound For A Portable Device

The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM is a smart, low-cost, better-than-average sounding speaker perfect for connecting when you want bigger sound than what comes out of your laptop/phone/tablet speakers. Approximately the size and weight of a soup can (but shaped a little more like a softball), the UE WONDERBOOM pushes decent quality, crisp sound and volume for the price. As with any portable bluetooth speaker, bass isn't insanely deep but the UE WONDERBOOM does a better job hitting the low end than many other entry-level bluetooth speakers with minimal distortion. The "360" sound makes it feel "bigger" than it really is. As for the UE WONDERBOOM design, it has a loop to help you hook it up virtually anywhere. We did not float it in a pool but we did use it in a wet environment where it was sprayed with water. It is a nice fit in the kitchen, bathroom, home office, or back patio. It is weighted well so that it won't easily get knocked over. Functionally, there are very few buttons to worry about on this unit. Buttons are obvious and rubberized. There is an on/off button and pairing button on the top, and a +/- button on the side. On/Off play a different tune to let you know when you are on/off/connected/disconnected. I never walked more than 50' away with my paired cell phone but I had no problem staying connected as I moved through rooms of my house. The device charges via a standard micro-USB port for up to 10 hours according to the manufacturer. It seems to charge relatively quickly but there doesn't appear to be an indicator to let you know how fully charged it is. There isn't a headphone option on this model which may be a drawback for some users. Nor can you give the device direct voice commands. You can, however, pair the device with another WONDERBOOM to "double your sound" according to the manufacturer. "Musical ecstasy" (as suggested by UE) is a bit of a stretch, nonetheless, the sound, power and longevity is above average and is worth a listen.

Let me start off with: boom! The packing is fantastic, the aesthetics of the speaker are great and the gray matches the new color scheme of my bathroom (the yellow, not so much). I plugged it in, turned it on and it was a loudish power on sound. Zero issues pairing to an older Nexus5; the pairing sound was loudish as well. Playing some Roots Reggae tunes showed off the bass of this little speaker and it's nice -- very full. I've been using another waterproof speaker for a few years now and that doesn't compare; it's been demoted to my outdoor grilling speaker. I must say, that the highs of the speaker appear to be related to the quality (aka 64k vs 320), because it wasn't so good with some songs & pretty good with others. The volume up/down on the UE triggers the music device volume up/down. Given the loudish comments above, I'd say that this device is tuned for bigger areas, as the lowest music volume is nowhere close to muted -- so, I brought it outside while I was grilling. The sound was still great, however, at the loudest, the sound was somewhat distorted. When I hung it from the ‘loop’ under my canopy, the 360-degree sound really stood out -- even my guests were shocked. It says that you can connect two of these things and I'm tempted to grab another to see what they can do!

AND....It's really waterproof and floats. (Its rated for 1 meter submersion for 30 minutes, so a float in the pool, in the shower or a rainshower will be no issue at all) Very portable and perfect for an introductory level speaker. Easy to take along with you wherever you go. It has rich clear sound that will surprise you and you control with the music app you already have on your phone, so this speaker needs no app of its own. The battery life is 10 hours and will fully charge from dead in around 5 hours. It operates pretty much like every other speaker you have had and pairs very easily. On off and pairing buttons on the top as well as the volume + and - on the side of the speaker. The "em" on the top of the speaker is also the pause and play button. The bluetooth has about a 100' range. Not really any instructions included but you can find instructions in the FAQ section for the speaker at the companies website. In the BOX: Speaker. USB cord............No wall plug is included but you probably have plenty already and you can always plug it up to the USB on your PC or laptop. (You need to open up the bottom of the box just under where the speaker was setting, to find another small box with the charge cord in it. It would be very easy to overlook)

What a great little speaker! Don't let the small size fool you, it produces amazing sound in a compact size. Great bass, clear highs. I imagine it would only be better if you had two of them. Pros: Easy to pair with Bluetooth devices. Very compact, 360 sound. Water-resistant so can be used in the shower or by the pool. I tested it in the shower with no issues. Supposedly it floats, but I didn't test that feature. It has very few buttons, a power button, a button to initiate pairing, and a button that serves the purpose to play/pause/skip music tracks. It didn't come with very comprehensive instructions, so it took me a while to figure out how to skip a track, finally I decided to try the double press on the switch. I listened to it all day at work at a fairly moderate volume and was still getting the "high" indicator when checking the battery level. Dropped it from a moderate height (3-4 feet) with no damage. Which brings me to the cons: There is no battery level indicator, just a tone that plays 3 different notes depending on high, medium, or low charge. It didn't seem to want to reconnect to the last device automatically. That could probably have been an error on my part, as I used several different devices to test the range of functionality. Then when I went back to the first one, I had to go to Bluetooth settings on my device and choose the speaker to connect to it. If you have an antiquated device that doesn't have Bluetooth and requires the auxiliary jack, you can't use it. (not an issue for me, but I'm listing it because it could be for some) Additional notes: It doesn't come with an AC adapter, but has a standard USB connection so any that you have will work and the speed of the charge will depend on the output of that.

Rugged and Durable but Lacking in Sound Quality

The UE Wonderboom Ultimate Ears Bluetooth Speaker is a good speaker but it does lack in sound quality on music with higher pitches and certain genres of music such as rock and ska. The speaker will sound distorted at full volume with these genres but it sounds great on pop, hip hop, rap, and other genres with the bass as the driving force. It is really durable and can stand a beating so if you're panning on taking this on a hike and don't want to worry about it falling and getting damaged then this speaker is a great choice. It is also water resistant which is a great feature to have especially if you like listening to music in the shower and don't have a water resistant phone. I kept my phone in my room and the Bluetooth connection never cut out despite the fact that the bathroom was not located near my room. The range is incredible and it was still connected to my phone when I went inside the garage while my phone was in my house and they are two separate buildings that aren't connected to each other. There is no aux port so you have to rely on Bluetooth so it's a good thing that it is really strong. The speaker has about 10 hours of battery life and easily charged via micro usb. It is small and compact so taking it around with you shouldn't be a problem. Despite the small size it does pack a punch and can get really loud but like I said before it does impact the sound quality. Overall, it is a good speaker for the average person such as myself and I am very satisfied with it. There are a few issues that make it only worthy of 3 stars but I would still recommend it to friends based on the durability, battery life, and compactness.

Overview: This compact speaker provides loud sound that can easily fill a small to medium sized room. The battery life is solid and the water resistance rating make it a carefree tagalong to pool parties. In my bathtub and pool testing it continued to operate as expected and floated as advertised. The mesh fabic around the speaker seems durable along with the handy semi-strechy loop, but I do worry that it could snag on something and eventually get ruined. This device is advertised on the box as waterproof, but keep in mind that nothing is truly 100% protected from water intrusion. Logitech themselves advertise an IPX7 rating, meaning that this speaker can handle being underwater up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes, so I probably wouldn't leave this in the pool for the entire party. Overall, it's a great speaker for the price and the water resistance is a great differentiator from other speakers that are merely "splash proof". Pros: -Small, light, and thus super portable -Good price for its device class -Very loud -Water resistant Cons: -No USB adapter (cable only) -No battery life indicator that I could find (will update if I discover otherwise)

This product is awesome! It's the size of a plush medium football, weighs about 3 billiard pool balls and its bass packs a punch. I never expected so much power to come from an electronic this size. The way that it's advertised, I thought the speaker was intended to play while floating in the water, but that's not the case. It is actually a super durable speaker that is safe to be used near a body of water because it's waterproof, dustproof and can float in case it gets dropped in. The floating feature is a nice touch, it prevents the speaker from being lost underwater. 8 devices can pair up to the speaker, but only 2 devices can connect to the speaker at a time via Bluetooth, so you can take turns playing your music. The simplistic style of the button layout allows for minimal distraction from the overall design and is very easy to use. The volume quality is impressive, I can imagine the overall sound quality would be amazing had it been linked up to another speaker. Two speakers can be paired with each other for a surround sound experience like no other. (sold individually) As the icing on the cake, the speaker has a 10-hour battery life, perfect for those late night pool/beach parties.

I was just looking for a small portable speaker to take with me or to play outside during a cookout or family gathering. This little speaker works great. For such a small thing it puts out a pretty good sound. I mean it's not perfect and on some songs the sounds gets distorted at very high volumes but I think that's common with all small speakers. This sucker does pack a punch though. Bluetooth connectivity is easy and flawless. And the range goes for about 20 to 30 feet. I haven't actually gone the distance from this device to measure. The device is splash proof, I had this outside in the rain and it still works well. I haven't fully submerged in water yet but I don't plan on trying. All in all, I say it's a good speaker, I just wish it had an 3.5 mm plug in. The only plug in is the charging cable. Which itself is a little short. The full charge lasts about 9 hours, I used it for about 3 hours straight, three days in a row and it finally loss power on the third day. Charging took about a common sleep night and was ready the next day. When placed on a hard surface the speaker does push a bit harder in sound. As opposed to hanging in the open. The loop does hold the speaker and is pretty rugged but you don't get any clip with it. I'm pretty happy with it and I enjoy it. If you purchase another one you can connect both for more sound but they do not spectate channels. Like one for left and one for right. They do sync well. In closing, I recommend this speaker for small rooms and shower singing and even grilling outside.

So I won't lie it took me a while to really decide on this product. My brother has the original UE Boom so I don't doubt the abilities or standard of UE products. But when considering what I wanted I needed something a little smaller and portable, loud, and humidity proof. I always play podcasts, audio books, and music when I'm showering, washing dishes, and other chores so I needed something I could hear over running water and stand my hot showers. This definitely made that cut. It's sound is so clear even if it isn't at the highest volume. It's short and round so it's easy to carry or throw into a bag. It even has a little hook if I wanted to clip it to my backpack. The charge lasts for days and it will auto shut off which is great because I tend to forget to turn it off. Does have a little weight to it but I don't carry it around in my hands so that doesn't bother me. They sell geek squad protection which is great because in the past for speakers I've bought it covers sound loss and Bluetooth connectivity. It's a great piece of mind for me. I haven't had problems yet and neither has my brother (he's had his ue boom for years now) but it is great to have that just in case. Especially because this speaker is a shiny penny.

This little speaker has good battery life and fantastic sound for its size. It has good weight to it but can be carried easily . It has a cord loop on its top that you can use to attach it to a backpack if you use a attachment device like a clip or something. It can also be hung from a hook. I personally put it on a shelf in my shower where it works well, since its waterproof its perfect for shower/ bathtub use. The only flaw and disappointment is that while it comes with a USB charging cabel they do not give you a power brick to plug it into. So if you want to charge it you need to use a powered USB hub or plug it into a computer or a wall adapter from your phone which might cause slow charge times depending on the charger output. The lack of a wall charger took away one star as this can be a extra expence for something that should have been included. Also there is a lack of detailed instructions for the device, while you can find some info online I have not been able to find information about charging status there is a blinking status light but what does it mean? I have no idea. I left it plugged in about 6 hours and the light went off so I assume that means its fully charged but not sure since there is no documentation with the device or on the support site about this.

Ultimate Ears - UE Wonderboom Portable Bluetooth Speaker. I received the Stone Gray color. A spherical Bluetooth speaker about the size of a baseball, the large rubberized plus and minus buttons control the volume, and it has a waterproof rating. Because of the shape, there’s more speaker. The Wonderboom also has a few extra touches that bring some small but significant quality changes to the brand. In addition to a power and Bluetooth pairing buttons, the Wonderboom as an additional button that can be used to play, pause, and skip tracks on a connected device. The same button can also be used to pair up multiple Wonderbooms without requiring the use of a companion smartphone app. The Wonderboom has a small bungie cord for hanging it from things, and can float in water. The Wonderboom offers strong, clear sound with low, moderate and high tones, balanced with the bass. While it might not be quite as loud as its larger counterparts, it still offers more than enough power to fill a decent-sized room. Ultimate Ears is claiming up to 10 hours of battery life for the Wonderboom, and says that the speaker can work up to 100 feet away from a Bluetooth source. Bluetooth is your only option for connecting to the Wonderboom. The Wonderboom charges using a Micro USB. BOTTOM LINE: Will be poolside this summer without hesitation. Clear sounds, quality product and totally splashable!

I just set this up the other day. It was extremely easy to setup from my cell phone. A simply push of the power button, then sync button, go to your device and select the speaker from your BlueTooth menu - All set. You can control the volume and play/pause from your device or the speaker. It has a wide range for the volume, and gets louder than i wanted to try. I used it inside and outside. I did not test it to see if it's water resistant/proof I'll take their word for it (It is supposed to be water resistant to 1 meter). I ran it for most of the night and did not drain the battery yet (it's supposed to be good for 10 hrs, I used it for about 6 hours uninterrupted). I also tested it out earlier in my office for range. It went an easy 70-80' around walls etc. (it is supposed to be good for 100' - likely for open space) It's a pretty simple design/setup. There are 5 buttons on the speaker: power on/off, sync, play/pause, volume up, volume down. There is also a port for the included USB cord to recharge (does not include the wall plug, only USB cord). It has a small loop to hang it with although it's a little too heavy to hang from your belt, but maybe a backpack or duffel bag would be good or somewhere from your deck or beach umbrella. Sound quality was very good, not great as the volume went up loud. A great product.
