I returned it for a new one (exact same model) and the new one has worked flawlessly for a couple of weeks now. This is a good value for the money. I would give it 5 stars now, but I could not do so due to the first tv having to be returned.

ROKU advertising ploy

The fact that ROKU in involved is nothing but an advertising ploy for ROKU to get more of your hard earned money. 30-days free this and 30-days free that . . basically there is very little you can access that is "really" free. If you have DirecTv, the you can get some things via them. Bought this for my son to have in his room when he is home from college and wanted to watch his choice of movies, sports, etc. ROKU made it sound like this was THE thing, just what I was looking for . . NOT. Do not purchase just because of the "advantage" of ROKU .. it really IS NOT an advantage, but in my opinion, a disadvantage! There was one review that indicated this when I was reviewing before purchase . . thought it was sour-grapes .. now I know it was not, but an honest appraisal . . now there two reviews to tell you about ROKU's ploy. By the way .. ROKU's "cost-reduction" to get access thru them may OR MAY NOT be a cost-reduction! Beware you may actually pay "more" for some accesses than if you go directly to the provider!

Posted .Roku does have multiple free services available, but for the more mainstream services like Netflix, Hulu, and others, there are charges to use. If these are not something you want to take advantage of, standard use with a antennae or cable box is available as well. - Jon, Insignia Support
