Yes it's slow and dark. But the drama is gut wrenching. Some of the best acting performances from both Gere and Lane. Intense drama without the frills. A good watch if you dont mind a slow burn.

To be married for many years and to find out that your spouse has not been faithful is one of the most devasting events a person can endure. In this film the character played by Diane Lane shows how innocently an afffair can start when by pure chance she she meets an exotic stranger on the street after falling and scraping her leg. The husband, played by Richard Gere, gradually figures it out with devasting consequences. The movie ultimately gives no clear cut answers why this happens but that's real life. And that's why I recommend this film.
