If your a fan of RPGs and/or tactical games then Unicorn Overlord is right for you. It's a ton of fun with lots of unique characters to collect. It reminds me a lot of the Fire Emblem franchise.

If you are an Atlus fan, or just an RPG fan in general, Unicorn Overlord is a great game to pickup. I really enjoyed my time with this game, as it had a really unique and cool battle system. I would highly recommend this game.

I love RPGs. I love JRPGs. And I have waited for something old school for a long time. There are certain games or sub-genres where it's been a monopoly for far too long. And that breeds complacency. Look at palworld/Pokemon, for instance. This is, in my opinion, the same situation but for fire emblem. There's no "weapons triangle," but certain classes counter others. There is a relationship system, and there is a way to progress it outside of battle. There are infinitely repeatable leveling missions scattered throughout the map. Don't want to wait for a special character to show up? Hire a mercenary with their same class. Waited for the special character but aren't completely satisfied with them? Use a special in-game item to take them back to character creation to change their stats and look. Side quests? Got em. Stupidly powered weapons that take the right amount of effort to obtain? Got em. Create a plus version of weapons to bring your favorite sword form Act 1 up to end game stats? Got it. The best version of FFXII's gambit system I've ever seen? Got it. Snu-snu with the amazonian colosseum lady? Almost ☹️ I haven't pre-ordered a game in years. I pre-ordered this one. It's so hard to keep my attention and there are so many good games out that I haven't 100%-ed a game in a long time. This one was my forth platinum trophy. In short, go get this game. Right now. It's on sale? Buy it even faster. Loved loved loved it.

Great game, the very classic VanillaWare art style with Atlus JRPG gameplay.

I started to not like the game at the beginning as it felt there was a lot to learn but you can half heartedly make it through and still feel like it's amazing. It gives a lot of space for the more you want to know the more you can dive in and fine tune the game but I'd rather stay ignorant and not put too much time in these games.

Coming from games like fire emblem and final fantasy tactics, this game offers a refreshing spin on strategy rpg. It provides countless hours of content and a unique art style with a lot of depth in customization.

Not your typical turn based strategy game, but once you get a hang for how the battles play out, it’s pretty fun. Great story and voice acting. Definitely need to check it out if you are into these type of games.

Fun game, different kind of combat. Can be played casual or you can go min max with it!

A love letter and a return to classic tactical RPGs.

Great Game. It’s something to pass the time, but make you think.

Great game. Really fun! Highly recommend it. The Strategy in this game really immerses you in the story.
Vanillaware proves they can do no wrong. This game is a 2D, hand painted lover letter to gaming. A strategy RPG with just the right amount of action and variety mixed in to keep you hooked. Reminded me of Saturn's Dragon Force at first, then soon blew it out of the water.

Never played this genre but the developer never misses so I gave it a shot on sale. There is a lot you can strategize with, good progression systems and tutorials/explanations. Always want to play one more run. Top tier art. Music is okay. Like other vanillaware games you want to find another game like it to play but there isn't one
