This radar has saved me more times than I can count, I commute to work every day 85 miles. This device gives me a peace of mind. If you like to drive fast or just tried of getting pulled over I’d definitely recommend it and it also has an app where you can customize this device so much which is also really sick. I’d say worth every penny. I was debating between this one and the r7 but I’m so glad I picked this one. Also it’s very sleek and not as bulky as the r7

I have had my Uniden R8w going for a few weeks now and I love it. If you use Vortex settings (google search Vortex settings) it will keep all the false alerts at bay. This detector saves me from tickets every week an the others around me that slow down when I do. The R8 companion app is also awesome with it.

I’m a medical courier and drive an average of 500 miles a day. I’ve used just about every radar out there and the R8W is the best one on the market right now. It’s become a necessary addition to each car, I have 3 R8’s and still use my R7 in my truck. The detection range on these things is incredible. There has been times I thought I was getting false alerts, until I find the cop (no joke) up to 10 miles down the road sometimes.

When you have this you don’t need to worry about being pull over or smth like that but you need to be focus some doesn’t turn on their radar anyway definitely worth it for sure

Super impressed with the R8W. Setup was quick, the menus are intuitive, and the real‑time alerts are spot‑on. I love the automatic GPS lockouts and how quiet it stays in the city. The display is bright and easy to read, and the directional arrows are a game changer. If you want a detector that just works without constant tweaking, this is the one.

I had an Escort Redline for a long time until it was stolen a couple of years ago. I loved the fact that it never false alerted. I decided to save a little money and replace it with the Max 360. This was a terrible mistake. It false alerted so much, I quit using it. I started reviewing a replacement and it came down to this and the Redline. I just liked the display better on the Uniden and if it didn't perform I could return it. After screening out the frequencies that are not used this detector has worked flawlessly. I've been using it for a month and 0 false alerts. Great range at detecting Ka band.

The Uniden R8W is an awesome upgrade for my current vehicle car radars. I also have the current Escort Redline 360c as well. I find the viewing angle of the R8W superior and the free redlight and camera database a major factor in my purchase. However, it is not as immune to police radar detectors as the Redline which is completely immune to detection. If you do not travel through DC. and VA. I would select the Uniden R8W only. I drive the speed of the other cars on the road and have maintain a clean record due to early detection of radar enforcement with all previous radar detectors. But, needed work zone deployment and increased speed camera deployment normally for revenue will get you if you are distracted and do not have advanced police radar distance radar alert. I love my R8W and it will pay for itself if I avoid getting one moving violation in a crap shoot with a judge on my time in court. That is how I see it. Remember laser is laser and you hope to pick up someone else's laser detection based on your radar detector's performance. The Uniden R8W is elite. The R8 is missing WIFI.

Upgraded to uniden R8W. I really like thus radar. Works really well. Has saved me a few times now. Has many options. Highly recommend

Great radar. Gets really good range on highway and on locals. I think it saved me like 90 times already. Def recommend def worth it.

So for the price of this thing I was annoyed because my front arrow wasn’t working. For example the single would be in front and my rear arrow would be showing. This was multiple times and my front arrow would never go off. So I contacted uniden and they offered to fix it for free which was amazing. Although for the price I purchased this detector for I would hope it wouldn’t have any defects. Although amazing range great radar, love the app and options.

Excellent Radar Detector with Great Range and Features I’m very happy with the Uniden R8W. The detection range is excellent, and the alerts are quick and easy to understand. The built-in Wi-Fi is a great feature because it makes updates more convenient, and the display is clear without being distracting while driving. The unit feels well-built, the GPS features are useful, and it does a good job filtering out unnecessary alerts once it learns your regular routes. Setup was straightforward, and overall it feels like a premium radar detector. I would definitely recommend the Uniden R8W to anyone looking for strong performance, long-range detection, and modern features in one package.

The product works excellent and there are many video's online that help navigate on how to use and change the settings. Great product!

I was a little skeptic at first with all of the options, but once you set it up with the app and set it for your type of driving you mainly do the detector is crazy good! Definitely would buy again.
