Because the CD player is broken in our car we needed an alternative to playing CDs on a long trip. While the transmitter is nice, it is tricky to find a station that plays the music well. We are constantly have to change channels, which is tough when by yourself. The price of owning an older car i guess

This product does the job. I was amazed that it actually picks up connection and I could listen to music from my phone. I had been wanting an aux cord in my car for the longest! Although it worked, unfortunately the quality wasn't the best. It can sound static at times which can be frustrating. I would just turn it off and listen to the radio. This didn't work for me.

Works well enough if you only have 3.5mm jack

Works well as long you’re not too close to a more powerful source on the same frequency.
My phone has a Lightning connection and I should have spent the extra $10 to get that version of this item as it also passes power to the phone, unlike the 3.5mm plug.
Conditionally recommended if you’re on a budget and only have a 3.5 mm input

My vehicle does not have an auxiliary port nor does it have Bluetooth capability. The Insignia transmitter connect easily and has worked out well allowing me to enjoy my personal music. The one negative is I have not been able to get rid of some static. All in all, I am enjoying it and would recommend.

The sound quality for the transmitter is pretty good. The problem is if there is any kind of signal, no matter how small, going to the FM station you have set you'll hear a little bit of static. I feel if the transmitter was just a little stronger it would have been perfect. If you don't have an AUX port, this transmitter wouldn't be a bad choice.

I don't have an aux port in my vehicle so I decided to try the Universal Transmitter, before changing out my factory stereo.
The transmitter works ok. Sometimes the sound is still staticy and I have to turn my radio volume up really loud.
I will use it for now, but I will probably end up changing out my stereo eventually.

I was able to take this out of the package and use it for about 10 minutes. I stopped my car for an errand. When I got back in, I couldn't get it to work. However, I had the same experience with a similar device later that day, so I am not convinced it was the devices, and not my car. Best Buy took it back with no problem.

This was the only one I could find at the Best Buy near me. The only way I can play music is my truck is through one of these, that uses radio stations. I’ve had cheaper ones that have worked better than this. All three of the stations have some static. I overpaid for this product for sure.

The product works well enough for me to listen to music but I ended up getting a tape with aux cord that proved to show much better sound quality and was less expensive by 10$. This is cool tech but sacrifices quality.

The product was fine, however, I was very confused on how it was going to work with my iPod when It did not fit the jack of my iPod, I did tell BOTH sales reps and manager in the store that is what I wanted for. Other than that, product worked great with my phone

It would send out a signal, and my radio would pick it up. It would get really spotty if I didn't have it in a specific spot in my car. It also would do a weird thing where if I had y AC on, it would produce a lot of static.

Bought for my 2001 Chevy Tahoe that doesn't have Bluetooth nor Aux input. It's pretty easy to setup and works pretty well. It does have some radio "fuzz" associated with it, but people on the phone don't hear it.

This transmitter is very easy to use. The auto scan is a plus to be able to bypass unused stations. The cord is strong and I have had no problems with it.

Good if you're like me and have an older car that won't sync with a phone. My old one would scan for available settings, this one uses presets. Would only recommend if you're in my situation and would rather listen to your library instead of local radio.

For those of us with dinosaur cars and no Aux input, this works good. I connect my phone to listen to my streaming music. Only issues are when in a major metro area where it's harder to get a good station.

The transmitter worked without any problem, easy to hook up. The sound through the speakers in my car wasn't what I was expecting. The previous transmitter that I had sounded much better but it crashed after a few months so, who knows?

Although these are going by the wayside as technology advances this is a pretty fair transmitter. Works well out of big towns and cities where there arent a lot of radio stations broadcasting and there is more of them with dead air. Good buy for the price

I was a bit doubtful about it, it looked like an OK transmitter... the one I had prior to this was twice the amount this one cost. And had a terrible reception. But this one works great.

I hate that it's staticy most the time. I spend too much time holding my phone which helps the static but annoying when driving. . With the setup I have in my car, I'm grateful to have this but $30 is a bit ridiculous.

I purchased this item for used in a slightly older vehicle that did not support Bluetooth or auxiliary inputs. The sound is grainy on some stations but overall it gets the job done.
