What starts off as the most common generic conflict of neglected child thrust upon an incompetent parent heading for a Hallmark card finale of gushing sentimental bonding before the end credits roll, instead takes a dark turn into survival on the bad streets that'll chew you up and spit you out if you don't think fast and fight back first. This film sucked me in and kept me on the edge of my sofa to the gritty end. This ain't no Disney fantasy. Its the culture of hard knocks in an uncaring world that beats the working man down and the redemption of necessity and purpose that can give you the strength to try one more time to fight the odds against you. Now ask yourself, are you ready for this?

A big-hearted movie, full of subtle humanity. Definitely Clive Owen's best work in a long, long time. Mario Bello, Matthew Modine, and Patton Oswalt round out an absolutely perfect cast; and Jaeden Lieberher shines, delivering one of the most nuanced performances I have ever seen from a child his age. Watch it. You'll be glad you did.

THE CONFIRMATION IS AN EXCELLENT HUMAN INTEREST STORY THAT DEALS WITH THE IMPORTANCE OF THE STRONG BOND BETWEEN A FATHER AND HIS SON.

Never saw in the theatre. Clive Owen recoverin alcoholic with custody of his son on a weekend. Valuable tools are stolen and must be tracked down

Well written and acted. Jude Law at his best. Jaeden Lieberher from St. Vincent has another great performance.

Clive Owen as you have never seen him before. Grows wiser just by spending the weekend with his son.
