    I love this Mario chess. My seven year old, whom I bought it for doesn't agree. He thinks its boring. Personally I find it an adorable way to play chess!

    The kids like it more for the Mario theme than the game of chess. They play with the pieces and enjoy them. I foresee them being lost shortly.

    Was disapointed with quality, pieces are made with thin plastic. not a vary good value for the price.

    The set is cool but Luigi was decapitated. Child was horrified. Who do I see about therapy?

    I bought this as a gift, so I did not open it all of the way to see the actual chessboard and all of the pieces, but the tin and the presentation will be a great gift for my grandson who I hope will be inspired to play chess because of his love for the Mario Brothers. If you wanted to you could use the chess pieces on the top of a birthday cake for a theme birthday party. I am very pleased with the quality of the set from what I can see of it without opening it all of the way.

    Bought for daughter for Christmas as she like Mario.She learned how to play chess and also likes role playing with the pieces.Seems to be made well.
