I happened to catch this movie on tv. I have all the other Vacation dvds and just had to add this to my collection. I enjoyed it as I have all the others. It was fun to see the children grown and their families. Now to see if there will be more. I think another Christmas one with the whole extended family would be great.

I have all of the original Vacation Movies. And they were very funny, and injoyaable. So when I saw the sequel update to the original movie I had to have it. And I am glad I did. I laughed so hard. And having the original actors in it really was the icing on the cake. Only one negative thing and that was the over use of the F-word through out the movie. I would not recommend this movie for children under 15 years of age. Otherwise enjoy and laugh.

It's not as good as the National Lampoon's Vacation buy far. It does have some very funny moments though.

When this arrived in the mail, I thought I was shipped the wrong version. The blu-ray case makes no mention of including a DVD or a UV digital copy. I had to take it back to the store and they said they had other customers do the same but it is actually the correct version with all 3 (Blu-ray, DVD, and UV digital copy) inside. We opened it and found that to be true. This can cause a lot of confusion and inconvenience to buyers.

    Funny Movie

Overall it’s a funny movie that is a sequel to the Chevy Chase 1983 movie “National Lampoon Vacation”. It features his son taking his family back to Wally World to relive childhood memories and to attempt “family bonding.” Some parts are absolutely hilarious. Sometimes it gets a little too silly for my tastes, but overall is worth a few bucks to see.

Don't want to spoil the movie for you but I have to say they followed the comedy of the other National Lampoon movies. Would have given this movie 5 stars but there is quite a bit of swearing so I didn't want my kids to watch. Still a great movie for family if they are teens or older and I still would recommend this movie to my friends because I imagine that this is the way my first major family vacation could go!

This movie is a really under rated hit! I found this movie to be funny from beginning to end. This movie follows Rusty now grown up and taking his family on a trip to Wally World. This movie does throw in a bit of the old and a bit of the new, and is a more modern comedy, with all the raunchy vulgar language that comes with it. I had fun with this one, but keep the kids away, this is not family friendly.

I like the original and I like how this one was made too. Following in his father’s footsteps ( Clark Griswald) Who remember Rusty Griswald..? So he decides to surprise his wife (Christina Applegate) and his two sons with a family vacation cross country road-trip. Lots of laugh, plenty of adventure and lots of nuttyness…

This is a pretty funny movie but just not as good as the original vacation with chevy chase . I’d still recommend it since Chevy chase comes out in the end

Nothing special but worth a watch if you're bored or want a few laughs. Most of the movie is predictable and poorly written but there's parts that'll have you cracking up, so it's decent enough.

Just Too Much Of The F Word In The Movie

This could have been a really good movie, if they had only left out at least two thirds of the "F" word. I mean, I don't mind a couple thrown in through out a movie but unfortunately it was just all the way through the movie. Even the kids saying it. Not to mention the rap song that had it from start to finish. I love the old Lampoon Vacation as much or more than anyone. I own most of them. I also own this movie on Blu-Ray but I wish I had saved my money. Take out MOST of the langue and it would be a REALLY funny movie like the rest of the originals were. I really can't recommend this movie. I honestly wish I could. On the other hand, if you do like hearing the word in a movie from start to finish, you will probably say I'm nuts for my review and don't know what I'm talking about. I guess decide for yourself, but you might not want to take smaller kids with you.

My favorite part about this film is that it is very smart. There were things that seemed like they were about to happen in a very predictable way, jokes that seem like we were about to get the punchline miles ahead of the fact when all of a sudden you realize that the characters themselves are also in on the joke.

Yes... the new Vacation was unleashed to the average moviegoer last summer, debuting to lousy critical notice, even worse box office (Though a sequel is still planned since it did gross around $100 million worldwide on a $30 million dollar budget) but did fairly well with audiences according to CinemaScore with a solid B.... way better than most comedies this day and age but still its not that good of a movie in my opinion. This film is a reboot/sequel/remake of the original film, where Rusty Griswold is the family man this time around (Played by Ed Helms) with a family of his own consisting of his wife Debbie (Christina Applegate) and two sons, Kevin & James. The family all tire of going to the same cabin year in and year out, so Rusty decides to take his family to Wally World, hoping to strengthen the bond of his family and relive his past trip to Wally World 30 years prior. And hijinks ensue with stops at Debbie's old college sorority, run-ins with a mysterious trucker, a stop at an all "natural" hot spring and more all without the same charm and hilarity as the original film. The film has a great and talented cast, but the character of Rusty is all wrong. Ed Helms performance is okay, but the approach is not Rusty at all from the previous films. In the older films, Rusty is a witty, smart alleck kid who is cooler and even headed and is wise beyond his years, but in this film, he is mild mannered, and a bit of a doofus, which is Clark not Rusty. The kids are hugely annoying and one-sided (Look the other brother is a gentle hearted weakling! Look the younger brother is a foul-mouthed brat!), Audrey became hugely stupid and also unbelievable to the original character and seemingly only married her husband (A very game Chris Hemsworth, one of the best parts of the film!) for a man, the car is just a redo of the Truckster, and the humor is gross-out and expletive filled. I'm no lightweight when it comes to comedy, I love gross out comedy, but only if it suits the style of the film or stays true to the original film but this film is gross and brass for the sake of being gross and brass. Sure, I laughed at the whole hot springs scene, and the scene where a steer meets a 4-wheeler and Debbie vomits profusely after chugging a whole pitcher of beer and being repeatedly struck with teddy bears and other obstacles (Don't ask!), but the original's humor lie with the escalating situation of the ensuing journey and the slow descent into madness with Clark leading to one of the all time best verbal blow ups ever filmed. So if you like crude comedy that is unneeded and characters that are unfaithful to their previous incarnations, then by all means buy it, but even then, wait for it to hit $10 or less. The PQ and AQ are tiptop, with the modern digital photography looking sharp and colorful and the audio, when the occasion calls for it, surrounds the viewer with nice separation of sound effects and music and all heard loud and clear. No complaints here. The extras, are unfortunately fairly lackluster, with only a couple of decent EPK's with only a smidgen of BTS, and loads of talking heads saying its soo much fun being on the set and being part of a legacy. Meh. The deleted scenes are ok, but nothing worth being put in the film and the gag reel is terribly unfunny (OMG!!!!!) with the last feature being an advertisement on the state of Georgia and how filming there was such an amazing experience. A DVD and a DC is also included to round off the package. So in all fairness, just rent it from Redbox, or just catch it on TBS where its bound to end up in a few years and totally not worth your time.

I know this movie gets a ton of hate, but I actually really enjoyed this movie. Should it be considered a NL vacation sequel, no. If you watch it with the mindset that it is a stand alone movie, you will have some laughs. I don't think it deserves all the hate it gets. And has a great casts.

When I saw the previews on tv I didn't think I would like it. I used my rewards certificate so it only cost me $3. If you watched the other vacation movies, you will see the same story line. There are some funny lines in there but this is not Christmas Vacation which the adult humor.

This is a funny movie. It is not a remake or anything but still has some funny moments. Great seeing Clark and wife together. Would have been great if all of the kids had made a cameo. The originals all got together for a reunion photo recently. They should have all made a visit.

I thought the movie was hilarious. It even poked fun at itself briefly for being a sequel that could 'stand on its own'. And it did stand on its own. It's another generation of raunchy family comedy. Could have used a few more special features, but overall the movie was a win.

Like the original it's not going to win any awards but it is certainly a very Griswold vacation. All the nonsense you expect from a Griswold vacay comes through in this entertaining revisit of all that can go wrong with your family vacation, or the Griswold's.

Although I was a huge fan of the original vacations along with Christmas Vacation, I was actually surprised with this one. I thought it was pretty funny and laughed out loud at quite a few parts. I enjoyed it and I don't find very many comedies to be all that funny now days.
