I bought this movie as a gift for a friend. Never seen it but they had told me it was good. Can't rate less than a star so as to give a non rating rating. If you seen it and like it then buy it

This is the definitive teen love story of the 80's, even better than the John Hughes movies which is about as good of a compliment as can be offered. This movie was the launching pad for Nicholas Cage's career and is still by far the best thing he's ever done. If you haven't seen this movie, you're missing a classic. Don't let the stereotypical Valley speak disuade you from seeing it. Much like That 70's Show is much more than poking fun at the 70's, Valley Girl is so much more than chessy Val speak. The soundtrack is one of the best ever, and this is one of the great love stories you'll ever see. It was very Romeo and Juliet for the 1980's, and it's still just as relevant and enjoyable today. The special edition is great, has a commentary and other special features with many of the cast and crew. The only downside is that Deborah Foreman, the lead actress, wasn't part of these features which was a bit disappointing, but the special features are gravy of course so don't let that stop you from picking up a copy of the movie.

okay this movie is really good yeah it may be sorta like a chick filck but its really great to watch its from the year 1983 just 2 years before i was born Nicholas Cage was very young back then he was also cute as the charcter Randy this movie is the best but may not be so good for young children to watch because of bad lanuage mostly the F word but if your 16 or older than its ok to watch i started to watch r rated fims when i was about 13 years old so i think its alright if your 13 or 14 to watch it very good movie totally awsome!!!
