My recent encounter with VAVA's Chroma Projector has regrettably unfolded into a disheartening narrative. Beyond the concerns of dead pixels emerging just months into usage and recurring after an initial replacement, another troubling aspect is the prolonged delays in providing a replacement. The protracted waiting period for a replacement not only exacerbates the inconvenience but, more critically, squanders precious weeks of the customer warranty period. This delay, coupled with the existing product issues, reflects a lack of urgency and efficiency in VAVA's customer service processes. As a consumer, this experience has left me with a sense of frustration and a perception of inefficiency in the company's approach to addressing product concerns. It is crucial for potential customers to consider not only the product's features but also the responsiveness and efficiency of the customer service, particularly when facing issues covered under warranty. In sharing this comprehensive review, my intention is to provide a holistic view of the challenges I've encountered with VAVA's Chroma Projector. I sincerely hope that VAVA takes heed of these concerns and implements measures to streamline their customer service processes, ensuring timely replacements and a more satisfactory overall customer experience.

In it's current state, I cannot recommend the Chroma. The company does not listen to it's backers/community about issues persistent with this device. They push off the issues and are extremely slow with rolling out new updates. The issues we're seeing - -Colors need more improvement (although some has been improved of the months) -Ghosting/Blur in Dark Scenes (loss of detail with moving action) (VAVA keeps insisting this is fixed but a lot of users are still reporting the issue, including me) - CEC does not work at all - internal apps are not 100% working The Chroma looks absolutely stunning in bright scenes however during dark scenes, it cannot handle it. A ton of ghosting and blur that results in loss of detail around trees, hair, moving faces/objects.

The OS crashes are now coming fast and furious rendering this projector frustrating to use. Startinf happening after the last firmware update a few months ago (early 2022). The update was supposed to fix a slew of other issues like inconsistent red tones and major ghosting issues in dark action scenes (sometimes unwatchable). VAVA has yet to addresss the crashing issues and has been delaying fixes for some time now. You’ve been warned.

I was so excited to replace my old Epson 5040 with a triple laser UST. Best Buy sent a Geek Squad rep to build and install my new 123" alr screen and vava projector. At first glance the colors are really impressive. Then I started seeing rainbow effect that I had never experienced with my Epson. The technician went into the projector's settings and I was shocked at how few settings you are able to change. Only the most basic picture functions are able to be set. The technician said this was the 1st triple laser UST that he had installed but he was so disappointed with the setup that he was going to make a notation that even though I had purchased the projector more than 45 days ago I should be allowed to exchange it for a better product due to how bad the picture looked and the lack of features at the price point.

Overall the quality of image and sound are good. Where this device fails is the user experience. The interface is clunky, CEC doesn't work other than volume and have already had it crash to the Android recovery menu. Unfortunately for a $3500 device this is unacceptable and will be returning it.

Upgraded from an Samsung 65" to this. Naturally wanted to go bigger. So was looking anywhere to a 75"-85". But prices start getting a little crazy once you go higher of course. Then stumbled upon projectors and this one caught my eye. All I can say is WOW! Watching movies and playing games on it is awesome! The built in Harman Kardon sounds really good. I already have a surround sound system but they're good if you don't have 5.1 setup. I did have it professionally calibrated to really dial in the colors. Of course you have to with most displays and can't expect to be perfect right out of the box. Also bought their projector screen for it. Been over a month and overall I'm very happy with it!

Excellent picture quality, but the built-in Android is horrible. Does not update using wi-fi, even after several reboot and retry.

The Vava Chroma is probably the best purchase I made this year. This is a heavy solid well built machine that looks classy in any environment. Nice style and a breathtaking picture that draws you into any movie you watch. I have it projected onto a 120 inch vivid storm retractable screen. The colors are bright and vivid. You may need to tweak the settings to your specific taste. I like a bit more pop in my movies and television shows. Watching movies on the Vava Chroma is like being in your own private theater. It has built in speakers, but I suggest using a dedicated surround sound system or sound bar. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase.

I bought this on Thanksgiving after installation the first issue is with remote back button , it always executes couple of time, second issue was none of the HDMI ports are working , HDMI1 and HDMI 3 not detecting and HDMI2 detect and disconnect. When i check on VAVA community multiple people has reported this issue, surprisingly VAvA has not addressed the issue and still making the faulty system, return the projector second day.

It throws immense brightness and clarity. 100% recommended. My non-colored wall sufficient to give best picture. Excited to see picture in ALR screen eventually.

1st time using a projector and all I have to say is WOW! It's definitely an upgrade over my 77" OLED. The movies and games on it are awesome and very impressive. Sometimes I feel like I'm immersed in what I'm playing. Especially Red Dead 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. The built-in speakers from Harman Kardon are very clean and have nice bass that fills the room. I paired this with VAVA 100" projector screen as well. Defintly worth the purchase.

I was looking for a 75"+ OLED but more bang for your buck, decided to go with a projector. Glad I did! It is my 1st projector. I use their dash cams and decide to try out their projector. I'm very pleased with it and takes watching shows, movies and games to a whole another level! I'm watching it on the VAVA 100" screen. Customer service is great and they keep you updated with software updates. I'm very happy with and recommend it!

Had my Chroma for a few weeks thinking I could look past the terrible color, but it was too much. Not sure what is going on with HDR but nothing about this is worthy of its price. Faces are red and color controls barely fix it without totally ruining colors for some other piece of content. Product definitely needs a lot of work.

Don't even think about getting this piece of junk. Anything else would be better.

If you are lucky it works, otherwise you have to wait months contacting customer care. Not worth the buy, better invest in branded names.
