After many hours of research and review reading I found this to be the best unit out of all others. This unit is user friendly, easy to maintain, and makes the room feel amazing. The noise level isn't too loud mostly keep it at the speed level 1. The unit is very lightweight. Before I got this unit I didn't even know how badly I needed something like this. It makes the room feel like walking into a personal cloud of fresh air. The dust level has gone down and the animals feel better too. My allergies have disappeared inside the home. Cleaning the unit doesn't take long and it's fun to see all the gross stuff in the water when dumping it out. The lack of filters is another thing I love about it. The only con is having to use the water additive but $20 for the 35 oz. bottle should last 10 months which using the additive does help with keeping the calcium deposits off and making it easier to clean. I like that you can add essential oil to the unit, the smell doesn't last very long but still nice while it lasts. After using this medium unit for the bedroom I bought one larger unit for the living room and the smallest unit I have at work, all work amazingly and look and feel exceptionally well built. With the 4 year warranty I'm sure these will last a long time even with other reviews I read saying theirs broke after a few months just get it replaced definitely worth it.

I've purchased several humidifiers in the past. I bought two different humidifiers to place in my daughter's room within a year. The doctor said we should have a humidifier in her room to ease her coughing and sinus issues. My wife and I thought the humidifiers helped ease our daughter's discomfort at the time but we were still confused as to why she had these issues so often, and for two weeks at a time. After reading more into the matter we found out that a lot of humidifiers spewed bacteria into the air. We saw an advertisement for Venta and saw that they don't put bacteria in the air, and it purifies too. We bit the bullet and got a unit to place in our daughter's room nearly a year ago. In three days her congestion issues disappeared! Her room smells so clean while the Venta is running, even eliminating the diaper smells! This machine is so valuable to us that we purchased another for our bedroom and have noticed a significant improvement in our air quality there as well. It's an added bonus that we don't have to visit the doctor or take lots of medication battling colds. These humidifiers are so much easier to clean and fill than the others and the quality of the air is far superior than anything else we've experienced. We have them running constantly, lower setting during the day and higher setting at night.
