    Bad batch of recordable CD-R's?

I purchased two 50-packs of these to back-up data. Opened a pack and the first four Cd's had trouble passing Nero's burn verification (used two different burners.) Did not open the second pack. Had been using these for years. I guess I was shipped a bad batch. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Am now going to backup strictly on flash drives only.

Wouldn't you know it, after some 10 odd years, I finally ran out of that 100-pack CD-R spindle I bought. I still prefer to create hard copy backups of my smartphone's photos so I can sort them and lend them to friends & family, so I picked these up at a discounted price. They work just fine. The only downside is the vinyl-like embossing is black, so your standard black Sharpie marker naturally doesn't show up on those areas of the disc. The area on which you can label each disc is pretty small. No points docked, though -- 50 discs for 10 bucks is hard to complain about.

Work fine, description a little misleading

So first off: I have used these CD's for a little while now and as far as I can tell, they work fine. My CD player is a little iffy so I've had some problems (skipping and so forth) but I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the CD's. My issue is that the whole "Vinyl" part of the description is somewhat misleading: as far as I can tell, these are just normal CD's that the company has glued a black (possibly) vinyl front onto. So, it looks kinda cool ("ooh, a CD that looks like a record!") but they are hard to write on (see: BLACK) and aren't really any different than a normal CD. Kinda gimmicky.

CD/R ...you'd think you don't need them, but occasionally I know I'll be somewhere that a CD is my only option. These not only look like my favorite format, only smaller, but they burn well with Nero and Mediamonkey.

The CD's look like little records which I thought was pretty unique. And came in different colors. Although the label doesn't give you much room to write what is stored on it. But I would buy them again.

I use these cd’s to burn music from my pc so that I can listen to the music of my choice while I’m driving. These cd’s are scratch resistant and the fidelity of the music is superb!

For the most part all cd-r products are about the same. What captured my attention was the retro single record look. For me and my opinion, somebody did it right.

Looking for something unusual, but reliable and I found these Verbatim Vinyl CDs. These CDs were perfect! I had no problem burning them with my desktop PC and they played great in the CD players I tested them in. We were trying to come up with a cool gift to give to our guest who came to our surprise wedding at our annual holiday party. Both my wife and I are music junkies and I have a pretty decent collection of vinyl. So we decided to create our own mix of music we played at our party.

I needed more audio CD's to burn some iTunes playlists. Got this 50 pack for $10 on sale. And they had a cute design of the old fashioned vinyl records on on each disk in black. The record label portion on the disk came in 5 different colors - green; blue; orange; purple and red.

I use a lot of these to make music mixes and picture storage. Some data back-up also, but mostly for music. Having a song order the way you want to hear it is still fun for me to do. I will buy these umtil they stop selling them.

I like the Verbatim CDs for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, they are reliable. I have yet to record a CD that wouldn't play in my car's CD player. Second, the design is nice...looking like an old 45.

So, I know CDs are old-fashioned, but I take lots of road trips and the cars I am forced to use don’t have XM, so instead of radio-surf, I burn my stuff and listed to days worth of music. Here’s the thing that some who burn CDs don’t know: the info is stored deep, on the other side of the label. So if you use a CRD/CDRW/etc etc, and use one with a foil label, it will eventually fail due to heat, cold, etc as well as scratch easily on the label side, thus making playback impossible over time since the data itself is now missing. This CDR has an almost completely solid label side, making it ideal for long-term use and lasting. Plus, it looks like a record and you can’t beat that.
