Other reviews mention battery being acceptable when settings are manipulated. That manipulation is to limit tracking to once per hour. So if you left you back pack in an Uber or you dog ran away, you will not get an updated location until the hourly update. At updates every 15 minutes the batteries last about 48 hours. I wouldn’t spend the money.

Ok tracker needs improvement

When I’m home it tracks it well. Thinks it’s because I’m not moving and in one spot. But when I’m on the move and the tracker is on the move it looses its signal a lot. I use this for my son because he travels out of the city for school. He has a learning disability to is unable to use a phone.

Good locator

Very Good Tracker

The people complaining about battery life probably haven't made any attempt to adjust the settings in the app. I use this to track my dog in the event he wonders off while we're outside by the pool. I have my settings fixed to where the tracker stays on and only updates the location if I tell it to via the app. With these settings I can safely get about 3 days of battery life. Also, you get 12 months of service for free when you activate it, after that it's like $4/month.

Pretty decent tracking

Waste of Time, Money, & STRESSFULLY disappointed

This was the 2nd time I purchased the Verizon Smart Locator and I have regretted it since I heard that there was no other GPS trackers available at the Best Buy that I was at (which was closing within 30 minutes of my arrival), but, unfortunately, as I stated above, due to the current circumstances, I needed anything that offered live GPS tracking [I would have purchased a Tile even, had it been available-which it was not]. I have used numerous different GPS trackers in the past few years, and I have to say that the Verizon Smart Locator GPS tracker is BY FAR, my LEAST favorite and MOST frustrating! NOTE: I have never had any issues with the SmartThings Tracker by Samsung (VERY HIGHLY recommended), nor have I had any complaints about the SyncUp TRACKER by T-Mobile, or literally ANY other GPS locator that I have purchased... First and foremost, listed below are only SOME of the reasons why I would have purchased ANY other GPS tracker if one would have been available... All of my issues with the Verizon Smart Locator are in regards to the first one that I had purchased, roughly 1 1/2 years ago BECAUSE... I WAS NEVER ABLE TO CONNECT THE VERIZON SMART LOCATOR GPS TRACKER WHATSOEVER!!! SOME of my issues from the first Verizon Smart Locator that I purchased are (but DEFINATELY NOT limited to...). You are REQUIRED to create an account with Verizon (which is understandable) but being FORCED to set up and purchase a plan in which you'd like to have AFTER your "free" trial. I say "free" because shortly after starting my "free" trial, I CONTINUOUSLY received text messages and e-mails stating that my "free" trial was going to end and I needed to, yet again, purchased a plan for my device. The frequency of these messages was EXTREMELY 'aggressive' and due to the frequency of messages, I personally would consider it something along the lines of bullying. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Promises, Promises...verizon doesn't deliver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have been trying to get the locator to sync with the verizon locator app on my phone for 3 weeks. First unit was considered by Verizon Tech as dead on arrival. Second unit same problem Get an errors "Not working....try again" when syn. Have done all of the try this and try that with Verizon tech support, level 2 and not success Three service tickets later, numerous hours on the phone, at least 6 disconnected calls with NO call back, at least 3 promises to 2 level tech will call me with a solution. Today, I was disconnected again. Giving up. Returning the unit
