From the Filmmaker who brought us "City of Violence" and "Arahan" comes the story of a veteran cop who has just stepped into a hornet's nest of business corruption and a violent punk with a chip on his shoulder. No wire work here, meat and potatoes martial arts action all the way.

Pretty straight-forward crime dramedy, with plenty quirky characters. Hwang Jung-Min plays a rule breaking cop who is after the son of an evil corporate syndicate, the son is well played by Yoo Ah-in. Film starts out funny then gets darker and more intense. A blockbuster in Korea.

The action scenes in this movie are excellent. The new wave of great action films are now coming from Korean cinema. Move over Hong Kong.

It's funny with some good action. Almost in the same vein as Jackie Chan's Police Story.

I enjoy most all foreign films. Korean , Chinese, Japanese, action , martial arts , historically based , etc. They offer great movie making styles. VETERAN was good in general , sometimes a little weak in humor , but still a good story. Action , fights , humor mix.

Wow! This was a fun movie! I am a huge fan of the recent cinema pouring out of South Korea, and they seem to always be adding to their ever-growing catalog of entertaining movies... "Veteran" is no exception! "Veteran" re-teams actor Hwang Jung-min and director Ryoo Seung-wan, who previously worked together on the highly successful 2010 film "The Unjust". Unlike their previous and more serious film, the duo opts to go for a funner tone on this venture. While it by no means shies away from some fairly brutal violence, it does have a nice level of comedic moments sprinkled in as well, making it a much lighter movie. The contrast between the righteous hero and a VERY despicable villain helps the movie gain its momentum in strides. Lets just say, you REALLY want to see the bad-guy get his just-deserve by the end of this ride. So, if you are a fan of action flicks and cop-dramas alike(especially from Asia), this one should certainly satisfy. It is featured in its Korean language with English subtitles, and also has an English dubbed audio track as well for those who prefer not to have to read the dialogue. I can't comment on the quality of the dubbing though, as I wholeheartedly prefer to watch movies in their original languages. All in all, I personally recommend "Veteran", especially to fans of the genre.
