This campy musical with Julie Andrews and Robert Preston is just what the doctor ordered for pure entertainment. Great Score with even better singing and dancing.

This is a terrific movie musical. It's well worth purchasing it. I had to replace the VHS anyway.

A love story wrapped around some really good music and musical production numbers. It is Paris between the wars. Julie Andrews is a down on her luck mezzo-soprano frantically looking for work. Robert Preston is the headliner at an almost first rate night club. He turns her into a drag star at a thoroughly first rate night club. That is where they meet the romantic interest, James Garner playing a Chicago night club owner and (possible?) gangster. Multiple, wonderful musical numbers ensue. (Obvious given the spectacular musical talents of Julie Andrews and Robert Preston.). “Le Jazz Hot” really cooks! First rate talents John Rhys Davies, Lesley Ann Warren, Alex Karras, and others in co-star roles. Music by Henry Mancini. Produced and directed by Julie Andrews husband, Blake Edwards.

A funny, funny movie with a great cast. Surprise highlight of the film is Robert Preston as the 'drag queen' with the brilliant idea of grooming Julie Andrews to become the hit of the female impersonator club circuit in 1930's 'gay-Paris'. James Garner suspects something is 'a-miss' so he and his tough-guy bodyguard, who has his own secret and played beautifully by Alex Karras, set out to determine just who is impersonating who. Lesley Ann Warren rounds out this superb cast as Garner's girl friend, perplexed by her boyfriend's attraction to a female impersonator. This movie will keep your funny-bone entertained from start to finish. Thank you Best Buy, for keeping this classic comedy available and at your usual reasonable pricing. I highly recommend adding this comedy, with some great musical performances, to your collection before it disappears.

Funny plot revolving around Julie Andrews as a starving, out of work female entertainer who gains success by posing as a male who performs as a female entertainer, coached by a hysterically funny Robert Preston in the role of his career. James Garner, Alex Karras and Lesley Ann Warren complete the cast in this truly entertaining musical comedy.

One of my all-time favorites! Classic, laugh-out-loud comedy. Perfect casting - I can't imagine any other actors/actresses in these roles. The creation of a totally original idea and making it into a movie is brilliant!

When I first saw Victor/Victoria, my image of Jule Andrews (based on the Sound of Music and Mary Poppins) was shattered. Good! Julie is so talented it was important that she not get locked into stereotyped roles. In this film she shows off her stuff with some marvelous singing and a totally different acting challenge. Today the film does not not seem as risque or have the same shock value, but watching it again was a lot of fun.

All Star cast with James Garner, Julie Andrews, and Robert Preston with amazing performances. This movie is hard to find. Love it!

I think this is Blake Edwards' best, and definitely Leslie Ann-Warren's funniest. You will love Robert Preston's funniest performance at the end.

Funny, great music, song, love Julie Andrews, Loved James Garner as well as the rest of the cast, splendid entertaining movie. I've seen it many many times, there are few movies I watch more than once, this is one of them. I'm purchasing this in DVD form for my dear old mom, because she loves it so much, puts a smile on her face. shes in elder care now and this is her only request, Get me this movie to watch!
