  • This unit can withstand a derailed train

    Before this I had an Aiwa record/cd/cassette combo. For a starter turntable this was a powerful unit. It's now in Florida landfill. Moving on to Indiana, my fiance and I both bought each other Crosley suitcase players. These got us by for a while until the internal speakers were blown and cracking. When I saw this Victrola for 45.00 I ordered it immediately. During transit, UPS tells me it will be delayed for it was on a train that derailed. I was sure this thing was destroyed. Upon delivery and un-boxing packing and product was secure. When I dropped the needle the first time there was nostalgia and an assurance. As the record spun, cascading stereo sound all encompassing poured into my ears and flooded my mind with the desired effect the artists intended. A lot of that is the engineer and production of the album. But as a vehicle, this turntable delivers with majesty. Would have given 5 stars if the bass humped my face just a tad bit more.

    Very cute and works surprisingly well for how cheap it was. Great gift for a teenager.
