Had my old GE profile over-the-range microwave for nearly 10 years. Ordered our first Viking unit, had it delivered which took weeks to get installed it. Went to make microwave popcorn using the popcorn mode, and half way through the cycle it blows an internal circuit breaker in the microwave. Tried a second bag of popcorn and the same thing happens. Each time the internal circuit breaker blows, it takes about 5-10 minutes for it to reset itself, otherwise the entire control panel stays dead and no lights work. I called Best Buy and they agreed to exchange it for another one just like it. Again, it took weeks for it to arrive, I had to install it again, but the new microwave vent fan doesn’t work on the “high” mode. It only works on Turbo or low modes. The display says “HI”, but the fan remains off on the mode. I am so disappointed and just don’t know what to do. I have now installed and uninstalled it 2 times, and now have to do it a third time, but I don’t know if I should switch to a different brand or what. I also currently have a Viking dishwasher on order with BestBuy which is supposed to be delivered in a few weeks. Wanted all of my appliances to match so I went with Viking again, but I’m starting to think it is just Overpriced junk. I have paid 3-4 times what I should have to have the Viking name, but I am truly disappointed and don’t know what to do now. I think I should cancel the dishwasher, take out this microwave and switch to a different brand for all.

Viking shame on you another product with poor finish. The key surface isn't uniformly flat and has bubbles. Big bubbles.

I purchased this to match other premium products in my kitchen and replaced a previous Viking microwave. From research I noted this appliance is actually manufactured by another brand who offers a similar product under their brand (Sharp). However, I purchased it anyway due to a couple of extra features. The unit control panel is not evenly flat and looks "wrinkled" in the light. It works fine but I expected a higher quality from a premium brand, In hindsight I would recommend the cheaper version from the original manufacturer.

In what universe is thus a convection microwave. I wanted a convection oven/microwave to replace a GE that gave out after 8 years. I liked the idea of being able to use it as a second oven instead of taking up counter space with a bulky toaster oven. That’s what my GE was. When it was being installed I discovered it was a “conventional” microwave. Funny to see it shown here as a mislabeled “convection”. I’m considering exchanging it.

I love this microwave. It is very easy to use. I would recommend this product to anyone.
